emphasized along with instruction on footwork, ball striking and
on-court strategy. Upbeat music played courtside will add to the

Tip of the Month
From Joe Perrone, Director of Tennis
Are you serving into the net? Perhaps you are making contact with the
ball too far in front of yourself. Try tossing the ball less far forward and
lean in more just before the swing. Also, if you toss the ball much higher
than your point of contact, it will produce a downward vector as it descends toward your racket. Need additional assistance with your game?
Call Joe at 739-7023 to schedule a lesson.

Ahoy Matey!
Two new members to the EFYCC family have added their boats to the
Club’s growing marina scene. Let’s welcome Joe Begley and his 32-foot

Fastest in Forest Regatta held in September. We also greet Peter and
Lynn Bream who have chosen Epping to dock their 33-foot classic antique motor yacht, “The Huckster”. This rare, fiberglass sheathed design
was built in 1948 and is one of only three models ever built. Welcome
aboard to our new members!
Kings Day Regatta
Epping Forest hosted the 23rd Annual Kings Day Regatta last month with sixteen boats competing for the
coveted title. EFYCC’s very own Allen Jones on board
“Bernoulli” brought home a first place victory in the NonSpinnaker/ Cruiser combined class. Other members
performing well on the St.
Johns River were Madalin
Keeble aboard “PHRFection” and Kim Brew on
“Kaos”. Special thanks go
to Dr. William Quinlin
on the Committee Boat
and Jonah Vroegindewey,
the Race Committee Assistant for their time and efforts in making this prestigious regatta such a success
