We welcome spring with the season opening of the Wheel House Café. Chef
Turner has a fabulous menu planned that’s sure to delight all. We’ll also see our
young members in action during their Spring Break weeks. Both the Cub’s Den
and the Marina have camps to meet their interests. Looking ahead, the Change
of Command Ceremony is planned for March 27. This proud Epping Forest
tradition annually attracts a large contingent of members. We hope to see you in

Family Dining Night!
Families continue to enjoy the fun and value of Family Night every Wednesday. It’s
here from 5-8 p.m., the children’s knee-high buffet is featured along with the
Terrace menu. The young ones also receive a complimentary dessert. One of
the Cub’s Den attendants will lead the children in an activity or craft. March
themes include National Noodle Month (March 4), Johnny Appleseed Day
(March 11), Lucky Leprechauns Night (March 18) and National Science
Month (March 25). We invite your participation.

Change of Command Ceremony and Dinner
An honored Epping Forest tradition! All members are invited on Friday,
March 27 to induct the 2015 Board of Governors and welcome Dennis
Guidi as the incoming Commodore. A 6 p.m. reception in the Formal
Gardens featuring complimentary hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be followed by the official ceremony at 6:45 p.m. A gourmet, four-course dinner
in the Mansion with wine service and live music will commence at 7:30
p.m. The evening is priced at $75 per person with service charge and tax

Annual Easter Egg Hunt
The annual Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. in the Gardens. The Easter Bunny will hide 4,000 colored
eggs for four age groups with prizes awarded in each age division to those who find the coveted gold and silver

Kids Etiquette Brunch
Young ladies and gentlemen (ages 5 & up), are invited to attend an Etiquette Brunch on Sunday,
March 29 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the Mansion.
Gentlemen (in ties and jackets) and ladies (in skirts
or dresses) will enjoy a five-course meal as they learn
proper dining etiquette and table manners. The cost
is $35 per child, with service charge and tax additional. Call 739-7023 for reservations. This is a perfect opportunity for parents
to enjoy Sunday Brunch while the children are in class.
Trivia Night
Trivia Night for Adults, a member favorite, is next scheduled for Tuesday, March
10. Members, arranged in teams of 2-6 persons, will vie for fame and club bragging
rights. Prizes will be awarded for the top two teams. Epping’s very own Joe Perrone
and Susan Lee will co-host the affair. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the first
question asked at 7 p.m. Food and beverage service will be available. Happy Hour
prices extended until 9 p.m. for trivia participants. Reservations are required. Contact Susan at 421-2237.
California Wine Tasting
Join fellow members on Thursday, March 26 from 6-7:30
p.m. for another in the popular series of wine tastings. This
month, we’ll sample from:
Domaine Carneros Brut, Napa; Simi Chardonnay, Napa
St. Supery “Virtu” White Meritage, Napa; Franciscan Cabernet, Napa
Nadia Cabernet, Napa
A wine expert will educate all on the subtleties, vintage and appellation of each
selection. Hors d’ oeuvres prepared by Chef Tim will complement the regional
differences and enhance the wines. The cost is $20 per person with service charge

Sign-In Please
Just a friendly reminder to all tennis playing members …… please
sign-in with the Fitness Center Front Desk staff before you head
out to the courts. With court usage now getting busier, registering
will allow us to better manage court inventory to ensure that there’s
an available open court when one’s needed. Also, please register
guests as this will allow us to know who is on the courts in case of
any emergencies. Thank you and enjoy your match.

Tennis enthusiasts are reminded that Epping
Forest's Racquet Club features four courts that
are lighted for night play. There is no charge
for this convenience. Please contact the Fitness

“point ending” overhead smash:
1) Move backwards as soon as possible
2) Square your feet to the net
3) Keep the left or non-dominant hand up throughout your movement
4) Visualize a target into the court
to aim at
5) It’s not an all arm shot, you need to use your whole body
6) Quiet your mind
7) Use good body rhythm, don’t over swing.

The finish line is in sight for the Saturday, March 14 GATE River Run. Currently, more than 400 members from
all four of the GATE Clubs are either running or walking the 5K or the 15K. The fastest Team GATE Club will
be crowned, as well as the overall fastest Team GATE male and female. Team
GATE members may pick up Team shirts and other materials at the Pasta Dinner at The Outpost on Thursday, March 12. For those not attending the dinner,
materials may be picked up at The Gym on Friday, March 13. Please check the

Pasta Dinner
All EFYCC members (ages 14 yrs. and up, please)
who registered for the Team GATE River Run are
invited to the complimentary Pasta Dinner at The
Outpost on Thursday, March 12. A 6:30 p.m. cocktail reception will be followed by a 7 p.m. carbo-loading dinner and program. Attire is casual for this fun
evening of team camaraderie. Please call

Fleet Meeting & Social
The next Fleet Meeting & Social will occur on Thursday, March 5 in the
Mansion. The social starts at 5 p.m. and will feature a selection of complimentary hors d’ oeuvres and a member charge bar for beverages. All Epping
Forest Club members are invited to attend this monthly event.
After-School Spring Youth Sailing
Registrations are currently being accepted for EFYCC’s After-School Spring Youth Sailing program which starts the
week of March 24 and continues through the end of May. Youngsters (ages 8-18), will be introduced to the basics of
sailing by a certified instructor. The emphasis will be on the fun, enjoyment and the self-confidence that results from
learning to sail. Featured are the following program options:
• Every Tuesday starting March 24 for 10-weeks (4-6 p.m.)
• Every Thursday starting March 26 for 10-weeks (4-6 p.m.)
• Tuesday & Thursday Combined for 10-weeks (4-6 p.m.)
• Add five Saturdays (noon- 2 p.m.) Reservation only

Aquatic Camps 2015
Registrations are currently underway for the Spring Break Aquatic Camps and the Summer Aquatic Camps.
Youngsters (grades 3-12) can expect a variety of fun and educational activities to include small boat sailing,
kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, big boat cruising J22, fishing, exploring nearby waters and taking in
field trips via boat. All activites are guided by certified instructors.

Kids Pizza Party
The next Pizza Party for Kids (4-12 yrs.) is scheduled
for Friday, March 20 from 6:30-10 p.m. in the Cub’s
Den. While all enjoy a variety of
fun crafts, games and activities, pizza, beverages and a dessert treat will
be served. The cost is $15 per child
and $10 for each additional sibling.
