News from the O’Quinn Mt. Pleasant Parents Guild
A Note From Our President:
Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped
with our first Father/Daughter Valentine’s dance. I
believe all little girls and their daddies had a ball!
Please check out the pictures (link is listed in the
newsletter) and purchase your pictures. All
proceeds benefit O’Quinn Parents Guild. We are
close to our fundraising goal –to install sun shades
on the playgrounds!
Teacher Appreciation Week is around the corner.
Please be on the lookout for how you can help us
pamper our teachers!
Also, please save the date for our next community outreach event - Movie at Cinebarre on Sunday, April 6th.
Admission will be a DVD movie to benefit MUSC Children’s Hospital. More information to come!

Teeter's Together In Education program is a fund raising program for schools in our
communities. Buy HT branded products and monies are automatically donated to the
school.

We have also joined Publix Partners! Please stop by the O’Quinn office or the Customer
Service desk at the Queensboro Publix (1000 Johnnie Dodds Blvd), and pick up a card for
your keychain. When you check out, please give the cashier your card to scan. Tell friends
and grandparents to do the same! Please stop by the office for further information.

Dazzling Dolphins
O'Quinn has a Dazzling Dolphins Program which rewards students for when they are
"caught" doing something dazzling. When the student is awarded a Dazzling Dolphin,
they are taken to the front office where they get to pick out a prize. Occasionally, the lifesized Dazzling Dolphin will make a special appearance at the school to play with the kids!

a%bright%future!% % %If%your%house%is%like%mine,%there%is%a%liAle%dusEng%of%pink%
and%red%gliAer!%%%
We% think% you% will% be% pleased% to% know% that% our% staff% had% a% very%
advantageous% training% session% on% January% 21st.% % Darkness% to% Light% offered%
current%informaEon%regarding%Childhood%Abuse%which%can%be%very%somber%to%hear%about,%yet%extremely%important%
to%learn%ways%to%be%a%child’s%best%advocate.% %The%second%half%of%the%day%was%a%teacher%directed%session%of%sharing%
amazing% “sensory”% and% handsRon% acEviEes% to% promote% preschoolers% and% kindergartners% learning% through% their%
senses.% % Our% teachers% are% so% creaEve% and% the% day% boosted% everyone’s% excitement% for% planning% great% handsRon%
