THE GARDEN CHAPEL
AT BIG CEDAR
Nestled on a hillside at the center of Big Cedar,
the Garden Chapel will seat 72 guests and will be
visible from many vantage points in the resort. Its
simple, classic exterior, with whitewashed lap siding,
traditional gothic windows and hand crafted operable
shutters, pays homage to historic places of worship of
America’s past. The Garden Chapel will join over 20
wedding locations already available at Big Cedar.
BASS PRO SHOPS’
OUTDOOR ACADEMY
Bass Pro Shops’ Outdoor Academy is slated to
open in 2013 offering a 1,200 acre breathtaking
outdoorsman’s paradise for hiking, fishing, sport
shooting, archery and target practice. This is a place
where the entire family can enjoy the outdoors and
develop sharp, safe shooting skills. Many educational
programs will be geared specifically to children, while
adults can unwind in the Billiards Room, Hospitality
Bar, or 2-Lane Bowling Alley. We’re not afraid to
jump the gun on this one—the Outdoor Academy
will take family sport shooting to whole new level!

horse-drawn carriage or wagon ride away. Enjoy a carriage
ride around the grounds highlighted by breathtaking views

Stables, or hop onto our chuckwagon and enjoy a tour.
PONY RIDES
Pony rides are available to children ages 10 and under.
Your child can ride as a Sheriff, Outlaw, Barrel Racer or
try the Pony Express Package.

Take the family on a horse-drawn carriage ride
through Big Cedar’s wonderfully landscaped grounds.

Dogwood Canyon
Nature Park
Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is an outdoor experience
like no other. Miles of streams flow through the spectacular
limestone canyon, cut into the Ozark mountains and etched
into the valley by centuries of crystal-clear, spring-fed
running water. The pristine natural environment provides a
perfect setting for all the activities this 10,000 acre Ozark’s
paradise has to offer. Walk or bike the canyon’s scenic
paved trail, take a wildlife tram tour or fish the sparkling
waters that drew the Osage here so long ago.
EXPLORE MOTHER NATURE
Dogwood Canyon offers a wide variety of activities for all ages,
as well as an outdoor café, Segway tours, private guided Jeep
tours and a historic chapel for weddings and special events.
Wildlife tram tours
Step aboard our comfortable, open air trams and explore
our past and present while absorbing the scenic beauty of
Dogwood Canyon on our two-hour Wildlife Tram Tour.
You’ll not only see our most popular sites and waterfalls,
but you’ll also cross the Arkansas border where your tram
may mingle with herds of bison, elk, white tail deer and
Texas longhorn. The tour even includes a stop to feed the
rainbow trout. Reservations strongly recommended.
Horseback riding
Horseback riding at Dogwood Canyon presents an opportunity to experience the park in areas not seen by the tram or
from walking and biking trails. Experienced wranglers guide
guests on a leisurely ride while exploring ridges, hollows, old
logging roads and other scenic views. Enjoy viewing the park
like the first Missourians did—from the saddle. Rides are

Trout Fishing
One of Dogwood Canyon’s greatest appeals is the

rainbow trout. We offer half-day guided catch-and-release
fishing, fly casting clinics, Orvis-endorsed multi-day fly
fishing schools and “self-guided” catch-and-release or catchand-keep fishing. From the novice to the more experienced,
there’s nothing like the thrill of hooking a Rainbow Trout.
Rods and tackle are available for rent.
Walking and biking
Our popular trail is self-guided and follows the canyon
floor along paved, gently sloping paths. A printed guide
brings your journey to life. Single-speed, coaster-brake
bicycles are offered in a variety of sizes.
Private Log Cabins
These charming, fully-furnished one, two and three
bedroom units feature full kitchens, all amenities and a
chance to truly “get away from it all.” Enjoy complimentary

within that period will be penalized by charging
the credit card. Same day reservations are
welcome but cannot be cancelled without penalty.
