LET US INTRODUCE OURSELVES
We are a group of young people between 16 – 30 years old who are all member of our own
youth center in Winterswijk, nearby the border with Germany. This youth center is called
Elbekurkie, what comes from the state Albuquerque, New Mexico. We have several groups
in our active membership. With these groups we organize things for children who are on
the primary school and also for the secondary school. They organize movie nights & game
afternoons for example. Beside that we have our own band commission and a commission
for other activities like a Beachparty or DJ party. These activities we organize once a month
for people from 14 years.
This plan for Q-base comes from our activities commission. We are with 8 members and do
all the theme-based party’s at Elbekurkie. Our specialty is designing and building decors for
the party’s without the high cost. Materials that we use are most of the time things like
carpet, hardboard plates, tie wraps and a bit of paint. A small idea of what we have done
yet? You can find it on the next page.
We all want to make a break, a trip, with this group for a long time. If we get the chance to
get to Q-base and do what we are good at, making a crazy party, then that would be
amazing: we can look at all what is happening at the build-up of Q-base and also can do
what we are good at, building a great party. We can’t have imagined a better break. We
hope we get this opportunity.
OUR CONCEPT: CHANCE = CHAOS
Why Chance is Chaos? Let us explain..
CHAOS
We organize house parties, disco parties, hardstyle parties and so on during the whole year.
Every party ends in a chaos with crazy happy people. We would like to do this also at Qbase, a crazy party like never seen before. Because each month we have different parties
with different styles we also would take all these styles with us. This said you could imagine
that this would get chaos all over the place.
CHANCE
In addition, we also offer new and local talent a platform to present themselves and get
better in what they are doing. For example: Three months ago we had 3 really young talents
aged 13, 14 and 15. We think it’s super important to give everyone a chance no matter
what music he or she likes. With this thought, this idea originated: take all these styles with
us and give them give everyone a great experience. For Q-base we would like to limit
ourselves from electric & hardtechno till hardcore & psycore. Overall we would like to call it
a journey (rollercoaster) through all styles: Freestyle chaos.
MUSICAL CHAOS
Like said before we don’t want to limit ourselves to one type of music. With our freestyle
circus there will be music that isn’t at the Q-base program yet and also music that will
complement the existing program.
Before midnight we would like to present the ‘soft’ freestyle side of our concept. This
means a the program between 18:00 – 00:00 hour. We take the party people on a ride
through heavy electric sounds, hardtechno and maybe a bit of dubstep. After midnight we
would like to get is bit harder with hardstyle sounds, hardcore and psycore. In these hours
we refer to B2S’s Pussy Lounge: the DJ can do what he want as long as it is hard and you get
energy from it.
Line-up will be confirmed later on
The exact DJ program will be confirmed later on. This will consist of mostly local talents who
have shown that they have good quality and are Q-base worthy. We will also consult about
the line-up with Q-dance as we’ll be part of Q-base.
BUNKER DECORATION
Q-base, creatures of the night. That is what we have started with for the idea of decoration.
Like we said we are good at building nice looking decorations without high costs. This is also
the starting point for this decoration. Beside that we had a look at our program, de diversity
of the music styles, and what is done before at the DYOA bunkers.
If we get the chance to host the bunker we would like to do something that isn’t done
before, naturally if this is possible in practice. What we mean is the following:
We take everything that is inside also to the outside. That means that we would like to
make the whole truss longer till far outside. From 18:00 till midnight we would like to do
the softer styles outside. That means that de DJ is playing towards the bunker and the party
people can stand in the bunker. If possible it would be nice to have the sound from both
front and rear. The design is a ‘angel’ creature with good weather by daylight. How it will
look like? See the next page.
After midnight all people turn around and then the DJ will start spinning the tables inside
the bunker. From midnight on there will be harder styles presented. The decoration there
will be an angry creature with bad weather by night.
Beside that we have an overall decoration for the whole bunker. We find it very important
that people can see our bunker from far. Also when you also use the space directly in front
of the bunker you have to see directly what is going on. For that we would like to make a
giant creature that is looking over the place. The clouds behind the creature will light up
and the tail of the creature that is intertwined in the truss will also includes rope lights. The
whole decoration is based on low costs and cheap materials.
With these both together, the program and the decoration, we think we can show what
we are good at and what we are doing during the whole year. This is what we are and
what we like to do.
Hopefully we get the chance to create chaos at Q-base. Hopefully our local talents get the
chance to play at the bunker. Hopefully everybody will be with us to make it an
unforgettable night!
