As you enter the estate along the
beautifully manicured tree-lined
avenue, be prepared to be captivated
as Castle Fraser, standing resplendent
and proud, comes into full view.

Upon entering the castle through
the classical south doorway, you step
into the Laigh (or Low) Hall.
This stone-vaulted entrance hall
provides an authentic welcome to
a Scottish castle and is perfect for
celebratory drinks and canapés.

Your ceremony
at Castle Fraser
Within the castle, your ceremony can be held in
the Great Hall, Library or Round Tower.
Great Hall
Originally dating from the fifteenth century and
accessed by a beautiful stone spiral staircase,
the Great Hall is the principal room for wedding
ceremonies within the castle.
Located on the first floor, with a high barrel-vaulted
ceiling and smooth, cream, plastered walls, the
Great Hall is bright and spacious, enjoying natural
light from the three large south-facing windows.
The Erard piano, which takes pride of place,
has been played on many occasions over the
years to entertain guests. Today, it can be played
to welcome the bride down the aisle.

Library
Dominated by a portrait of Charles Mackenzie
Fraser by Raeburn, this Regency-style room is
ideal for intimate ceremonies.

Located on the fourth floor of the castle,
the Library retains many original features
and elegant furnishings, including rich
wooden bookcases, an eighteenth-century
longcase clock by Thomas Stone, and
decorative wallpaper dating from c1839.

Round Tower
For a truly unique and intimate experience,
ceremonies can take place at the top of the
Round Tower. Accessed from the Great Hall
via a spiral staircase, the Round Tower offers
stunning views over the surrounding estate
and fantastic photographic opportunities.

Depending on the size of your wedding party and formality
of the occasion, Castle Fraser offers you a choice of unique
locations for dining.
Great Hall
Steeped in history, the Great Hall is adorned with family portraits
and dominated by a large sixteenth-century fireplace, all adding
to the character and charm of this wonderfully simplistic and
elegant room.
Both versatile and spacious, the Great Hall provides the perfect
setting for sumptuous banquets followed by dancing and
evening celebrations.

Dining Room
From the Great Hall a short passage leads to the early
seventeenth-century eastern wing and the vibrantly decorated
Dining Room.
Elegantly furnished with mahogany bookcases, family portraits
and numerous eighteenth- and nineteenth-century treasures, this
delightful room offers a refined yet personal dining experience.
