October 2015 - Crop N Time
 Come Spend Time with us…
October 2015 ~ Volume 78
Are you gearing up for the holiday season?
Fall is a beautiful season, but also a busy one. It’s filled with back to school
schedules, baking those Fall treats and getting in those activities like apple
picking, hikes through the colorful foliage, football/soccer games, and trips to
the pumpkin patch. It’s also that time of the year when we start thinking about
getting ready for the entire holiday season.
In the midst of holiday prep, don’t forget to take time out for you and treat
yourself to a day of your own. Check out the info below to register for our next
crop event and get a jump on your holiday papercrafting gifts or just keeping
up with your own albums. Whatever you choose, we’d love to see you.

Crop N Time Scrapbook Events Newsletter Page 2 October 2015 ~ Volume 78 Message from the Owner:
October, probably one of my favorite months …
… the changing of the leaves; watching my daycare kids play in the leaf piles
with giggles of pure joy (ok, I play too). Funny part lately is that I look at
things in scrapbook form. I have felt for a while now that I just don’t have
much to put in my scrapbooks, making it very difficult to be creative. SO,
I’ve recently started thinking about what it is that I want to scrap. What
colors do I have or want to use in my pages. Now I am starting to create the occasions to scrap.
Yes, I’ve started looking at activities with the thought “Oh, that would be a fun few pages” and
then we go do that activity. One thing I’ve learned with this is that I had really not been making
great memories with and for my family in the last year or so. Now, I am starting to get myself
moving and make those memories again. Sounds a little backwards I know, but it’s been a great
way to get myself back out and making sure we have fun times! I’m really starting to look
forward to crafting again!
Hope to see you all at our November 21 Crop!!!

Courtesy of Suzy at www.suzyqscraps.com
Three is a powerful number, visually and in writing. Let’s take a closer look at the
three power players in scrapbook page
design.
1. Rule of Thirds: A simple tool that
suggests where to place your focal
point. Read more about the rule of thirds.
2. Visual Triangle: Using 3 similar (or
exactly the same) objects, colors, or shapes
to focus the viewer’s eye with an
“invisible” triangle. Read more about how
to create a visual triangle on your
scrapbook layout.
3. Repeating Threes: Repetition is a
design principle we’ve covered in the past,
but now let’s take it a step further and look at how we can repeat in threes.
3 in a row (or column)
3 pictures varied in size
3 shapes in a set
3 lines of text
3 clusters
3 pieces of a title
Crop N Time Scrapbook Events Newsletter Page 4 October 2015 ~ Volume 78 Connie’s Challenge Corner
Challenge:AreyouScared?
This is a month for scaring! This month’s challenge is inspired by Halloween. I created a
layout about my daughter’s first visit to the dentist (she added journaling about how scary it
was for her later).
Challenge: Create a
layout about
something scary. It
can be terrifying,
frightening or simply
a bit scary. To add
to the theme of the
layout, use orange!
Go for it, use a page map from this newsletter and double up!
I can’t wait to see what you create!

Crop N Time Scrapbook Events Newsletter Page 5 October 2015 ~ Volume 78 Do you ever find yourself in a design slump? It’s so easy to use the same layouts over and over as they seem to fit
your pictures. Why not make your pictures fit a new layout? Here are some ideas for new layout ideas that can
help bring some life back into your albums!!
If you complete these layouts before or during our next crop event and show us, you will earn raffle tickets for
each new layout to do! Isn’t that just fabulous? Don’t forget to bring those layouts you complete before the crop
with you to get the credit for them as well. They could just win you a fantastic prize from one of our preferred
vendors or even that Grand prize basket at the next crop!
Even if you don’t use this size album, you can always scraplift ideas that will work for your own project!
We love seeing how each one of you interprets these sketch ideas into your own pages!
Happy Creating 

Crop N Time Scrapbook Events Newsletter Page 7 October 2015 ~ Volume 78 Tealightful Notes: Take a look at our tea!
Do you have some teabags in your cupboard? I have a challenge for you. Take one and cut it, emptying out the
contents. What do you see? Chances are, it looks like dust. Now I’d like you to take a look at our teas from Tealightful.
Here are two of them, pictured in the palm of a hand:
Instead of gray and black dust particles, you see real bits and pieces of everything that goes into our blends here at
Tealightful. Of course, I have to mention some of our other fall treats here at Tealightful. What goes better with a hot cup
of tea than a decadent scone? We have several varieties, including the quintessential fall favorite: Pumpkin.
Our Pumpkin Chai Scone mix is all-natural and contains real pumpkin, wholesome oats, white chocolate and brown
sugar. Our scones are a great alternative to the pre-packaged snacks and desserts in the grocery store, which tend to
be full of hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup.
What’s your favorite fall treat? Is it your mom’s homemade apple crisp? Your aunt’s pumpkin pie? Happy Fall!
