happy thanksgiving! - Our Lady of the Airways
28th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
October 13th - 19th 2014
O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work, help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home, help me to remember those who
have no home at all; When I am without pain, help me to
remember those who suffer, And remembering, help me
to destroy my complacency; bestir my compassion, and
be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed, those who cry out for what we take
for granted. Amen."

Parish Life
And all who believed were together and had all
things in common... – Acts 2:44
Our parishes are spiritual homes where we meet one another to encounter Christ. Our plan calls on us to make our
225 parishes places of welcome and hospitality, both for
those who are with us each week and those who return
home after many years. We will prepare ourselves with care
each week to celebrate the sacraments and encourage attentive and active participation from everyone. We will support our priests and deacons as they lead the way, and when
asked to assist, we will respond. We're all in this together.
It's important that we celebrate the many parishes already
engaged in outreach ministries and programs that support
the family, the domestic church. We can learn from their
wonderful example. Visit

goals associated with
“Parish Life”.

VOCATION CORNER…...
COME AND SEE WEEKEND:
We are hosting a Come & See Weekend retreat for men
ages 18 and up at St. Augustine’s Seminary from Friday,
October 31 at 6:30 p.m. to Sunday, November 2 at 2:30

of vocation testimonies and to receive first-hand experience of seminary life. We encourage you to promote this in
your parishes, connect with men who would make good
candidates and contact us. Thank you in advance for your
generosity as we work together building a culture of vocations. For more information, please call us at 416-968-0997

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY
NEXT WEEKEND, World Mission Sunday, is our
chance to be united with Catholics all over the world in
prayer, friendship and support. We share in the work of
missionaries and the young Churches as they share their
faith and give life, often in difficult and dangerous circumstances. Through Mission, Catholics are able to actively
share in the mission of Jesus: proclaiming the boundless
love of God to all peoples. The money collected next
weekend will go in its entirety to support mission projects
worldwide. Please give what you can; every gift makes a
difference and, if possible, please use the Gift Aid envelopes provided. Thank you for your generosity!

mondo.
nozze saranno forse maltrattati, forse uccisi. Ci saranno certamente quelli che rifiutano l’invito. Poco importa.
Siamo
