FATHER’S Day is a great time for a barbecue
and marinading the meat will make it even
more special and tasty.
You could even marinade it the night
before to get extra flavour and save work
on the day but, if not, an hour in the
morning will be fine.
This is an easy family favourite recipe
that works with all types of meat. The kids
can have fun making the sauce while Dad
barbecues the meat!
For 4 people, you will need beef, pork or
lamb steaks, ribs or chicken drumsticks for
barbecueing, and to make the marinade: 2
tbsps soy sauce; 2 tbsps Worcester sauce; 3
tbsps honey; 1 tsp orange zest; 2 cm piece
ginger, peeled and grated;1 star anise,
ground; 1 tsp coriander seeds, ground; 1
tsp cinnamon powder; ½ tsp white pepper.
Place all marinade ingredients into a
bowl and mix well, pat the meat with a
paper towel, cover with marinade and
marinate in the fridge for an hour or longer
(even overnight).
Barbecue or grill the marinaded meat.
Serve with fries and a crispy salad.
