WORD FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Fighting Irish Fans,
When I was first hired to become principal of St. Pat’s nine years ago, I had
several objectives – one being the revival of our football program, bringing
back to St. Pat’s, the pride and glory of the 60s, 70s and 80s. With the help
of many people within our community – from the old boys that financially
contributed to the project in 2003, the first head coach Pat Sponza, the
football committee, the present-day coaching staff, and finally the parents, we were able to make this project a reality. We cannot forget the parents who have always been there to support their kids and our program.
We must also recognize the students who have admirably been representing
our institution with pride and decorum – in victory or defeat.
Thanks to all of you who have contributed in making this come true.

WORD FROM
THE HONORARY PATRON
It is with great pleasure an appreciation that I witnessed the revival of
St. Patrick’s High School football program. This revival will provide a great
live experience to everybody involved in the program. It should engrave a
06
multitude of values such as honesty, integrity, generosity. The notion of
these values will serve as a strong catalyst for those young men to acquire
HONORARY WORD
the live skills which are imperative to the success of a football team but
more importantly to be successful and productive leaders of their community.
Looking back at my experience at St. Patrick’s High School, I can acknowledge that my teammates and I most definitely developed life skills such as
hard work, cooperation, accountability and fair play, all in a competitive
and fun environment. Our passage at St. Patrick High School provides us all
a great source of pride. Having recruited in a great number of high schools

in Canada, I can honestly say that the school spirit witnessed at St. Patrick’s
High School is unmatched. My experience at St. Patrick’s High School was
unique, one that made me discover my passion which help defined my career. I would like to express my profound gratitude to all teachers, coaches
and school administrators who provide such a formative and positive experience at St. Patrick’s High School
I would be remiss not to underline the hard work of the parent committee who provide the drive and the resources to revive
and maintain the football program.
Keep up the great work! Thank you and GO ST. PAT’S.

THANK YOU

To the St. Pat’s Fighting Irish,
It is always with tremendous glee that I witness and announce, from the sidelines, the revival the football here at St.
Pat’s. That being said, there is just so much more to the game of football than scores, stats, fumbles and field goals;
rather, it’s truly about the comradeship between players, the grueling practices that instill a sense of discipline, the
ecstasy of accomplishment, the highs and lows of wins and losses that fuel competitiveness and the will to surpass
oneself. These life lessons inevitably transcend the game and become benchmarks of our day-to-day existence as
human beings who constantly face adversity, seemingly insurmountable obstacles, and herculean challenges. In the
end, only the strong survive and thrive—and so too is this the case on the gridiron.
It is only with devoted coaches, a dedicated Parent’s Committee, and the administrative decision-making at St. Pat’s
that any of this is made possible. An honorable mention to all of you!
It was—once again this year—a pleasure for me to see this school’s student-athletes shed green blood, sweat, and
tears on the field and exude that Irish Pride that has always been the trademark of this fine institution, within its
venerable walls and beyond. And, ultimately, if my comments from the sideline were able to transport you through it
all by adding some color and spice, then the pleasure was reciprocally mine…and yours. Sincerely,
Nick Lehoux, football announcer

Eating prior to a football
match or a practice?
But of course!

It is very important to eat before a workout or a football game in order to fill

WORD FROM
THE PRESIDENT

OUR PRESIDENT
Good day,
So ends another fantastic season filled with emotion and the thrill of newlyacquired experience.
Once again, the focus was on friendship, professionalism, belonging, selfsurpassment and team spirit, qualities that make our organization stand
out from the rest.
Friends, parents, teachers, volunteers and sponsors were at our sides
throughout the season to cheer on our two football teams, who did a great
job on the field.
One final ingredient was needed to give our players the ongoing training,
discipline and teamwork required to succeed in football. Without your generous financial support, we would not have been able to reach our goals.
Many thanks on behalf of the Committee!
We look forward to seeing all of you next season.
Marc Ferland
