People called “Life”
We started Life Church in 1985 with several goals in mind. First, we
wanted to establish a group that reached out to others with God’s
love and restorative power—a place where anyone could come, feel
completely accepted, then be empowered for a real life! We wanted to
tie together strength-giving, life-sobering, fundamental Bible beliefs with
energetic, expressive joy and fun fellowships! We wanted an atmosphere
that was not too formal (stifling expression) or too loose (chaotic or
weird).
Today Life Foursquare Church is an exciting, growing fellowship of
dynamic people living out those early goals and a whole lot more! We
experience as a people that life with God is exciting... that living like
God is life-changing... and that living for God is rewarding.
With energetic music, lifetransforming talks, kid-pleasing
children’s ministries, awesome youth
meetings, fun fellowships, genuine
caring, and dynamic outreach into
the community, God is building
a place of strength and refuge
through a people called “Life.”
We invite you to join our Life family
as we face a future as bright as the
glory of the God we serve.

Caring People
Casual Dress
Probably one of the first things you noticed
here is that our dress and format are casual.
The reason is simple. Jesus was sent by
God to earth to touch our lives... and He
didn’t come in an Armani suit or in rags.
He came as an ordinary guy, approachable
and touchable. He was God-come-down-toearth in a real-world package, and people
loved Him! We believe that the important
dress issue is that we be clothed in a heart
that loves Him and other people! We’re not
against someone dressing up for church;
people can come any way they want. But
there’s plenty of room here for folks who just
want to slip into a pair of jeans or shorts and
sandals when it comes time to go to church!
We trust that you were greeted warmly when
you entered the building and that someone
helped you and your family get situated.
At Life we see ourselves as a loving, caring
family. When people here face difficult
situations, there are many who will draw
near for support, encouragement, and aid as
appropriate. On the other hand, we work to
avoid being closed or cliquish. You will find
acceptance here regardless of background,
ethnicity, past failures, or mistakes. We give
you the same sort of love we receive from
God—unconditional and non-manipulative.
Child-Friendly Ministry
Children and youth are the leaders of tomorrow! We take very seriously
the responsibility to help parents prepare them for the great tasks ahead.
We do not view childcare as a means to occupy the children while the
parents attend services! Our heart is to provide a safe and exciting
environment for your children and youth as they are taught to address
life issues from a biblical perspective.
Don’t stop for breakfast on the way to church on
Sundays! Come straight here for hot Starbucks®
coffee, juice, and donuts, then have a seat in
the Dining Room or Café. Before long, you’ll be
making some new friends.
Contemporary & Creative Worship
We focus on our musical worship,
so it lasts a while! With
“songs, hymns, and
spiritual songs” we
offer sweet-sounding
expressions of our love
and adoration to God
for His goodness to us!
He’s great and deserves
to be greatly praised!
You’ll see people lift their
hands in adoration and submission to God as the
words we sing strike chords in our hearts. At times you’ll
hear rounds of applause as we acknowledge
and celebrate His magnificence. That
shouldn’t be strange to
anyone who knows how to respond to sports,
movie, business, and political “stars” with
enthusiasm!
Our worship is not just a performance. It’s the
heartfelt expressions of people who love Jesus
with all they are. Creative movement and dramas
are an important aspect of our worship experience.
Musicians, singers, dancers, and congregation all
rejoice together in Jesus.
Our Message
While our services are lively and casual, we do not take a careless approach
to the Bible. We are committed to the Bible as the authority for living rightly! Men have come
up with all kinds of definitions for the “good life,” but God alone has the key to the real
thing! He knows how this life works best! All things that pertain to the true goodness of life
are recorded in the Bible, so we unapologetically look to it for practical and positive ways to
mature and be released into our full potential! Messages and course materials (MP3 audio
and PDF notes) are available for free download at www.life4square.com. Messages are also
available for a nominal cost on audio CD or video DVD at our resource counter in Café Viva.

Youth
are a vital part
of Life Church. It’s our goal to
ignite, shape, and focus young
people to be enthusiastic about
God and their relationship with Him!
Uturn (grades 9-12) is about change.
There’s a lot of stuff we don’t like in our
world – and maybe even in our lives. Change
is possible! We believe change begins when
each of us uturns — making the choice
to turn away from the destructive forces
of selfishness, immorality, alcohol & drugs,
prejudice, etc.
More importantly, Uturn is about turning
our hearts toward God and His Son, Jesus
Christ. It’s about allowing God’s Word to
guide us in each step of the amazing journey
He has for each of us.
Uturn on Sunday Mornings
On Sundays, youth meet with the adult
services for praise and worship. After
worship, the youth are dismissed to
the Uturn Building for Bible teaching
specifically geared for youth challenges.
Some of our trained and prepared youth
serve in the younger departments as part
of the Revolution team. These opportunities
provide on-the-job ministry training for
leading worship and teaching.
Uturn on Sunday Nights
page 8
Discipleship of our youth is
extremely important to us. The Core
discipleship program meets Sunday
nights at 5:00 PM. It’s designed
to help young people experience a
reality of relationship with Jesus
that becomes a lifestyle affecting
every aspect of their lives. This
series of
studies is an
intense, interactive,
practical process.
Uturn on
Wednesdays
Our Wednesday event is highly evangelistic
and designed to give the students the time of
their lives! While we go to great lengths to
provide a fun and exciting time with excellent
food and fellowship, we never minimize our
purpose — to introduce the students to a
radical relationship with Jesus Christ.
Uturn opens at 4:00 PM each Wednesday
during public school weeks. At 6:00 PM, the
main activities begin with great food, lots of
Christian music, games to play, and people to
hang out with! There is also an enthusiastic,
fast-moving, Bible-based, youth-oriented
talk to help young people see the need for a
lifelong commitment to our living God! Teens
learn how to bring the reality of Christianity
to their day-to-day lives. Opportunities
abound for teens to express themselves
musically and dramatically.

Adults at Life...
Our Adults...
We are seriously committed to nurturing
and equipping every person to be all that
God has planned for him or her! We place a
high priority on fostering relationships with
God and people; therefore, we encourage
constant interaction with Him and other
Christians.
Sunday Morning Celebrations
We have two services on Sunday mornings to
get you pumped up to face your week with
a smile! Our 8:30 to 10:00 AM and 10:30
AM to 12:30 PM services have coffee and
donuts available in the Dining Room before
the services start. Second service includes
a little longer worship service for an extra
high-energy pump up! Expanded worship
and praise, prayer, and the day’s Bible study
comprise this time together. When you leave,
you’ll feel like you’ve been to church and will
be ignited in your heart!
Wednesday Night Activities
One thing you will notice at Life Church—
there is a lot going on! In fact, it is not
unusual for us to have as many people
on campus on Wednesday as in both
Sunday morning services combined. Adult
Wednesday night sessions begin at 6:15
with a free meal for all participants. The
following classes are periodically available for
adults on Wednesday nights. (See pages 4-9
for meeting information for your children.)
See www.life4square.com for more info.
page 10
The Alpha Course is one
of the exciting things about
Wednesday nights at Life
Church. Alpha is a 12-week
series addressing foundational
issues of Christian living. Alpha
begins with an excellent, free
meal followed by a video presentation. Then,
we have small group discussion time. This is
a great time for getting to know God better
and getting acquainted with other people
attending the course.
The Building Blocks of Life course is a
14-week follow up to the Alpha Course. The
live teaching sessions focus on Christian
basics and practical Christian living. You can
download free lessons and audio for this
course on our web site or buy
the material at the
resource
center in
Café Viva.
The Finding
Light in
Darkness
course
naturally
follows the Building Blocks of Life. It
provides valuable additional training in
successful Christian living. You can also
download free lessons and audio for this
course on our web site or buy the material in
Café Viva at the resource center.
The Truth Project (by Focus on the Family) is
an exciting series designed to equip believers
with a comprehensive biblical worldview.
Practically and personally, participants are
reintroduced to the truth claims of God.
What this curriculum does is nothing short of
transformational.
From time to time, we have other sessions
available for adults on Wednesday nights
such as Mars Hill, and PLACE.
Our Spanish Expression
La Vida Regional (our service for people who
primarily speak Spanish) meets at 4:00 PM
on Sundays in the Living Room. Talented and
passionate pastors Alex & Lisa Montealegre
effectively minister to Spanish-speaking
people throughout our region.
La Vida on Wednesday Nights
On Wednesdays nights, La Vida adults
meet in Café Viva for dinner at 6:15. That
is followed by Spanish versions of Alpha,
Building Blocks, and other series. La Vida
children meet with Life children.
Ministries Open to You
There are many places at Life Church for
you to get involved. We hope you choose to
make this the place you call “home”!
Praise, Worship, and the Arts
Our praise and worship time is an extremely
important part of Life Church. We have
many gifted people serving faithfully. If you
feel called to ministry in this area (voice,
instrumental, sound, lights, dance, acting,
or other related areas), please talk with Elton
Davis, our Director of Music.
Aspirations for Women
Aspirations meets once each quarter on a
Friday night with a mini conference that
includes food, fun, fellowship, worship, and
some great ministry of the Word of God by
women for women. This is a free ministry
open to all women in our community.
Ignite – Young Adults (18-25)
Our heart is for this generation to encounter
the living God in an intimate way that
revolutionizes their worldview. This takes
shape within relationships and Bible study on
Friday nights.
FPU – Financial Peace University
Get control of your finances with this
periodic series by Dave Ramsey. Participants
recently reduced their debt an average of
$4,000. You, too, can reduce your debt!
DivorceCare & DC4K
DivorceCare is periodically offered to help
you learn how to deal with the pain of the
past and move toward rebuilding your life.

We Believe...
The Harvest
The Harvest is important to Jesus and to
us (Matthew 9:37-38)! Jesus compared
His work of bringing people into the
Kingdom of God with that of farmers
harvesting their crops and bringing them
into a storehouse. We strive to join Jesus
in His work bringing individuals into living,
vibrant relationships with the Creator of
us all! Much of our ministry here revolves
around helping people get connected in
joyful relationship with God, becoming
strong in their knowledge of His Word,
then becoming effective in communicating
that relationship to others.

Basic Doctrines and
Beliefs
Life Foursquare Church is a member of the
International Church of the Foursquare
Gospel. We are an interdenominational
fellowship that is fundamental and
unapologetic in our presentation of the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. In a day when
diluted messages are producing deluded
people, we stress a straightforward
proclamation of the Word of God,
emphasizing what we consider to be the
foundational truths of Jesus Christ for
those who believe...
As a New Testament church, we
emphasize:
-the Bible as the foundation for Christian
living. Whenever and wherever the Word
of God is neglected or ignored, error and
imbalance are close behind.
- Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior,
acknowledging Him as the Source of our
salvation and the Resource for power-filled
living!
- the presence and ministry of the Holy
Spirit, Who comes to glorify and magnify
Jesus, drawing all men to Him. We believe
page 12
Jesus Christ
the Healer
Jesus Christ
the Soon-Coming
King
it is His indwelling presence in our lives that
brings us into fulfillment and fruitfulness.
- interdenominational fellowship with all
members of the Christian faith. We recognize
that those who belong to Jesus are members
of the same Body of Christ, though we may
have different names and points of emphasis.
- the ministry and authority of the believer.
We have been called and equipped to extend
the perimeters of the Kingdom of God by
walking with Jesus doing all that He says.
possible; a spirit of giving and soundness of
stewardship; an adherence to sound doctrine.
As a Bible-believing church, we
stand on these foundational truths:
In essentials, unity;
in nonessentials, liberty;
in all things, love!
- Repentance and Forgiveness
All men need forgiveness for sin. The Bible
tells us that we have all sinned and fallen
short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
Jesus told us to “Repent, for the Kingdom
of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). We
believe that all men enter the kingdom of
God only through a born-again experience,
receiving Jesus Christ as Savior (John 3:3-5,
Romans 10:9-11).
- Water Baptism
After declaring Him Lord of your life,
Believers are commanded to follow Jesus in
water baptism: a public declaration of our
death, burial, and resurrection with Him.
It’s a commitment to a new way of life, a
farewell to an old way of thinking, and a
signpost of a life-changing decision (Matthew
28:19-20, Romans 6:3-8).
- Baptism in the Holy Spirit
When Jesus left, He sent another Comforter,
the Holy Spirit, to live in us, lead us, guide
us into truth, and empower us for service
(Matthew 3:11, Acts 1:5,8,
Luke 11:9-13).
- Healing and Deliverance
We believe in divine healing, the power of
Jesus to heal the sick and the afflicted in
answer to believing prayer (Matthew 8:1617, James 5:16, Acts 3:16).
The issues of Life:
Worship as a priority; God’s Word as our
authority; God’s love for our motivation; the
family as Father’s basic unit; racial, gender,
and social harmony in His kingdom; the
unity of Christ’s body; constant prayer for
fruitfulness; Spirit-filled witness; Spirit-led
service; the vitality of spiritual language
(tongues); a commitment to spiritual
warfare; restitution for wrongdoing wherever
Our Logo
The logo for Life Foursquare Church includes
several
significant elements.
The four colored
diamonds in our
logo represent
our belief in the
four major tenets
of the Foursquare
denomination.
Red represents Jesus as Savior, yellow
represents Jesus as the Baptizer in the Holy
Spirit, blue represents Jesus as the Healer,
and purple represents Jesus as the coming
King. The rough, bold edges of our name
(Life) represent our casual, down-to-earth
approach to relationship and worship of our
Father in Heaven. We seek to be real in our
relationships with God and people without
a focus on polished outward appearances.
The layout of the letters of our name and the
exclamation point at the end represent our
progressive and contemporary expression of
joy in our relationships with God and people.
We love our Father and all those He loves
(i.e., everyone)!
Our goal of reaching people (the Harvest)
with the good news (the Gospel) of God’s
love is represented by the wheat stalks.
There are three stalks to represent our
reliance upon the Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit in this work. The three-dimensional
aspects of the logo represent the depth of
our love, commitment, and relationship. We
rest firmly upon the Truth of God’s Word
as recorded in the Bible and base our lives
on that Truth. Our love and commitment
to God and people go deep. The multiple
colors and unity of the design represent our
commitment to fellowship with all believers
in Jesus, regardless of ethnicity, social strata,
or denominational affiliation.
