Looking Ahead November 8, 2015 Family Dedication Ten Thirty O
The acolytes are Jake Good and Caroline Wilson.
Singing the duet today are Danielle and Grant Knox. Danielle is a music
faculty member at Christ Church Middle School, and Grant is a music faculty
member and Director of Lyric Theatre at Furman University.
Brian Shelley is the deacon assisting in worship today. He and his wife,
Susan, are members of the Koinonia Class and parents of two children,
Caroline and Wells.
The flowers in the Sanctuary are given in memory of Rachel S. Martin by
her friend, Ruth Reid. She walked in beauty on earth with us. Now, she walks
in beauty in Heaven with God.
Music selections today include: “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” by
Peter C. Lutkin, Summy-Birchard Company, 1961; “Love Divine, All Loves
Excelling” arranged by Mack Wilberg, Oxford University Press, 2002;
and “And Peace Shall Guard You” by Michael John Trotta, Birnamwood
Publications (ASCAP), 2013.
Portions of today’s liturgy adapted from Call to Worship Lectionary
Aids for 2014-2015, Year B, Volume 48.1, Office of Theology and Worship
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), 2014.

Words of Dedication
Family Dedication
Eternal God, we confess that we have failed to seek your will.
We revel in power and privilege while many are struggling to
survive. We boast of our great contributions while some who
have little give all. Forgive us, God of grace. Strip us of all pride
and pretense and clothe us in your mercy alone, ready to meet
you in your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Introduction of New Members
Assurance of Pardon
This is the promise of the Lord in Hebrews 10 – that by the power
of the Holy Spirit, God will transform our lives and
remember our sin no more. In the name of Jesus Christ,
we are forgiven!
