LOCAL FAREWELL FROM BOREK JENNINGS -HAMBURG CHAPEL:
His Legacy... James Edward Sanderson, age 46, passed away suddenly
Sgt. James E. Sanderson
Sept. 26, 2014 in Genoa Twp, MI. He was born on Aug. 29, 1968 in
Battle Creek, MI to James and Janice (Kinney) Sanderson. James was a
police officer for 20 years with the Hamburg Township Police where
he became a sergeant in 2004. He spent time as a Hamburg Township
motorcycle officer, fire arms instructor, and Range Master. He was
part of the Livingston and Washtenaw Narcotics Enforcement Team
(LAWNET) for two years, and served one year as a DEA task force
officer in Detroit, MI. James was an avid motorcycle rider and member
of Warthogs. Jim was a devoted father who touched many lives. He
will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His Family... James is survived by his son, Nick; mother, Janice Gorham;
grandparents Leola “Jerry” Sanderson, Pauline Kinney, and Junior
Kinney; siblings, Linda Cosmos, Teresa Gowing, Tim Gorham, Tammy
Gorham, Troy Gorham, Terry Gorham, Tracy Gorham, and Brandi
Gorham; uncle, Dean (Mary Ann) Sanderson; aunts, Sharon Hollister,
Cheryl Hulce, and Brenda Rhrer; and best friends, Mike (Constance)
Knieper, Brandon (Kristina) Bullock, and Rob Tramel. James is preceded
in death by his father, J. Larry Sanderson, and sister, Misti Gorham.
1968 - 2014
His Farewell... Family and friends will gather 1-8pm, Wed., Oct.
1, 2014, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His
Healing Farewell will begin at 11am, Thurs., Oct. 2, 2014, at St.
Mary Catholic Parish, 10601 Dexter Pinckney Road, Pinckney,
MI 48169. Pastor Bill Donahue will serve as celebrant.
