Community Resource Manual - Children`s Law Center of
North Shore/Cape Ann
Community
Resource Manual
About This Manual
This manual is intended to be used as a guide to the many
organizations that serve low-income children and families in Cape Ann
and on the North Shore, which includes the towns of Beverly,
Danvers, Essex, Gloucester, Hamilton, Lynn, Lynnfield,
Manchester by the Sea, Marblehead, Middleton, Nahant, Peabody,
Rockport, Salem, Saugus, Swampscott, and Wenham. In the first
section, providers are grouped by the substantive area in which they
offer services. Because some organizations are listed more than once,
all details about an organization will appear in the first entry and
successive entries will contain only the name, phone number, and the
page number on which the complete details of the organization can be
found. Note that contact and related information for some of these
providers may have changed since the publication of this manual.
We apologize for any omissions of, or mistakes relative to, the
names and/or contact information of organizations. We will endeavor to
correct those omissions/mistakes in future editions. Feel free to e-mail
us at [email protected] or contact us by telephone or by mail with
changes, additions, or deletions.
Acknowledgements
Special thanks to those who are responsible for the
development of this manual. We acknowledge its original creator, Jen
Kurzrok, who interned at the Children’s Law Center of Massachusetts
(CLCM) in 2012. Cristina Manzano, a 2012-13 CLCM volunteer, also
contributed to the original edition. This second edition is the result of
contributions from several volunteers and staff of the CLCM,
especially Attorney Julie Butner, but also Attorneys Claire Valentin,
Adrienne Neff, and Luis Castillo. Other staff/volunteers at the CLCM
who provided invaluable assistance include Kirstin Rohde, Kelsey
Komich, Ariel Glantz, Kelsey Cappetta, and Rachel Shapiro. We would
also like to thank Hailey Granger and Pathways for Children for sharing
their resources, Attorney Jane Truesdell Ellis, and the other members
of the Youth at Risk Conference Committee.
Finally, we acknowledge and thank the staff of those many
organizations referenced within the manual who not only offered
valuable suggestions and input relative to their own and other
programs for this manual, but who also labor long and hard on behalf
of their disadvantaged clients on a daily basis. Their efforts are far too
under valued and under appreciated.
The beautiful art work that graces the front and back covers was
drawn by clients of Family & Children’s Service of Greater Lynn.
