Dale Alcock is a homegrown success story, from bricklayer to leading WA home builder. His reputation has become
synonymous with quality, excellence and distinction. In 1987, Dale moved to Perth and became a registered builder.
Soon after that, he joined partners, Garry Brown-Neaves and John Webb, to launch Dale Alcock Homes. Although a
significant enterprise in its own right, Dale Alcock Homes was only the start. Expanding from this foundation, Dale
went on to establish what would become one of Australia’s leading construction, property and finance companies –
the ABN Group.
Today, the ABN Group operates in Western Australia and Victoria. It is comprised of 22 companies with 1800 Employees, 300 Apprentices
and over 2000 Contractors, building over 4000 homes a year. It’s ranked third in the Housing Industry Association's (HIA) 2013-14 Housing
Top 100 List. Dale still plays an active role at Dale Alcock Homes, as Managing Director, in addition to his duties as Managing Director of
the ABN Group. Since establishing his own dedicated Apprenticeship Training operation in 2004, ABN Training has trained over 800
apprentices and is Australia’s largest private training group in the industry.
Mr Scott Bird

Scott brings 25 years of experience as an environmental scientist, predominately in the WA consulting industry. For
the past 17 years, he has held senior management positions within consultancies during which time he has acted as
project director on a wide range of environmentally focused projects. Scott provides strategic advice in the initial
stages of a project to achieve the long-term objectives of Clients. He guides the work of in-house teams and
interfaces with Client project teams. Scott’s technical experience is centred in contaminated site management and
environmental impact assessment particularly in relation to land development. He has technical skill in the
assessment and management of contaminants in soils and water and has often interfaced with contaminated site auditors to resolve
technical issues.
Mr Justin Crooks

Justin Crooks has over 15 years experience in Property Development, with extensive experience across a broad
range of property development forms including residential, marine, built form and retail development. He specialises
in the delivery of master planned residential communities, and associated retail, transport, community and
educational infrastructure. Justin holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University and currently serves as a
Councillor on the UDIA WA Council.

Mr Phil Cuttone

Phil Cuttone has over 16 years of experience in both state and local government and 19 years in Property
Development with LWP Property Group and has extensive experience in delivering master planned residential
communities as well as boutique lifestyle developments. He also has experience in built form, community
development, energy efficiency design, project feasibilities and has an extensive knowledge of the approvals process
and an ability to find innovative solutions to meet the needs of government agencies. Phil holds a Bachelor of
Construction Management and Economics from Curtin University and a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Mr Mike Hussey
Australian Cricketer
Admired and respected for his intense and meticulous approach to the game, Mike’s first opportunity in the
Australian Test team came in the 2005 / 2006 series against the West Indies. Within his first five Test matches Mike
played his way to three centuries and has since become the fastest player in world cricket to reach 1000 Test runs.
He also won the One Day International Player of the Year at the 2006 Alan Border Medal and One Day International
Player of the Year at the ICC Awards in November 2006.
Mike has retired from international cricket but continues to play T20 cricket, captaining the Sydney Thunder in the
Big Bash League. This year he played for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.
Mike is an Executive committee member of the Australian Cricketers Association, the representative voice of past
and present first class cricketers in Australia. He also sits on the board of Venues West WA, having completed the Company Directors
Course in 2013. He is also an ambassador for the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, WA, and the Starlight Foundation. His tertiary
education includes a Bachelor of Education, with a major in chemistry, from Curtin University.

Robert has spent the last 50 years breaking down cultural barriers and improving the lives of disadvantaged people.
He is the Chair of the Australia Day Council WA, Executive Member to the State Aboriginal Advisory Council Aboriginal Affairs Planning Authority Act, and Foundation Member, President and Chair of the Derbarl Yerrigan Health
Service.
Robert has led initiatives in social justice, health, employment and community service, and has held a number of
government roles. He led Aboriginal education initiatives, assisting the establishment of the Clontarf Aboriginal College. He has worked
with the government to implement programs to assist Aboriginal people achieve home ownership and housing security in a sustainable
manner. Robert was the first Aboriginal person to be elected to local government as Councillor and Deputy Mayor for the City of Gosnells.
Robert has been awarded an honorary doctorate from Warnborough College, Canterbury, the Centenary Medal and an Order of Australia
Medal in recognition of service to Housing, Health, Education, Employment and Aboriginal Affairs.

Ms Nicole Lockwood

Nicole is a Director in the Management Consulting team at KPMG in the areas of Public Sector and
Infrastructure. She is a member of the Infrastructure Australia Board and a member of the Leadership WA Board.
She resided in the Pilbara for seven years until 2012 as Chairman of the Pilbara Development Commission, a
member of the WA Planning Commission, a Director on the Horizon Power board and a Councillor at the Shire of
Roebourne. She was the Shire President from 2009 to 2011. Nicole is a lawyer having worked in private practice, at
the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and as the Principal Solicitor of the Pilbara Community Legal
Service. Nicole is passionate about regional development and the creation of thriving communities.

Griffin is an award winning journalist, a weekly columnist with The West Australian newspaper and manager of a
program for at-risk kids in the Midland area called Night Hoops.
Griffin became involved in the Department of Sport and Recreation’s fledgling Nature Play WA initiative in 2010 and
has since built it into a thriving independent association that became incorporated in January 2011 and secured
funding in the June 2011 WA State Budget.
Ms Lisa Montgomery

Lisa Montgomery has the skills necessary to be a visionary and multidisciplinary place maker. She started her career
in journalism, before moving into regional community and economic development. She worked in marketing,
communications and special events in the tourism industry, before transitioning into urban redevelopment to focus
on strategic land release planning, and developing place management teams.
Prior to founding Place Match in 2011 Lisa led the project team that transformed the Perth Cultural Centre and
William Street from a dead inner city space to a hotbed of happening activity, now loved by people of all ages and
backgrounds and one of Perth's 'must see' places. Lisa's first hand experience in these diverse areas gives her detailed knowledge of place
making and how local community identity, strategic investment attraction and ongoing place management works together to create
successful places. Her professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism and Sociology) from Curtin University.

Mr Steve Roper

With a strong background in landscaping and project management Steve commenced his employment with LD
TOTAL in 2004 as a Commercial Estimator. In 2006 Steve then progressed to Contracts Manager where he managed
a small team of estimators and project administrators, and played a key role navigating the construction team
through a testing period post GFC. Then in 2009, Steve was promoted to the role of Construction Manager, and
successfully steered the company through a strong phase of growth.
Steve’s impressive track record in management over the past 10 years resulted in his promotion to General Manager
in 2013, where he works closely with Senior Management, overseeing the day to day operations and providing
strategic direction and support to the growing LD TOTAL team.

effective and renowned. As former Director at the Western Australian Department of Sport and Recreation, he has

Currently a board member for Nature Play WA, Allan has been on the board of numerous companies including the
Urban Development Institute of Australia, and the Western Australian Technology Precinct.
