last existing watch tower left in Lombardy from the time of Guelf and

Leonardo Da Vinci was a guest at the castle in the early 1500's when the
famous ferry, which still links the banks of the river, was built. In the
following centuries, the castle, was passed on to various aristocratic families
and wealthy businessmen that maintained the original architecture whilst
