Welcome
Welcome to the third edition of the Welwyn
Garden City and Hatfield and Rural Summer
Sizzler holiday activities brochure which we
hope you will find really helpful in organising
things to do, with or without, your children
during the long summer holidays.
This year we have a new middle section
to the brochure, which can be pulled out
and referred to separately. This section is
dedicated to activities for 13-19 years olds.
We still have the highly popular Calendar
of Events section in the brochure, which
can also be pulled out and used as an easy
reference for planning your activities.
The brochure is a not-for-profit publication
which has been put together by Welwyn
Hatfield Borough Council, Welwyn Garden
City Extended Schools, Hatfield and Rural
Extended Schools and all 9 Children’s
Centres in these areas.

Extended Opportunities
Sometimes family finances can make it
difficult for children and young people to
take part in different activities, such as
joining a club or activity, learning music or
simply receiving help with transport to local
activities in the area.
Extended Opportunities is a government
fund that aims to help children take part
in activities after school, at weekends or
during the school holidays.
In order to see if you qualify for Extended
Opportunities, please contact your local
Extended Schools Co-ordinator.
