Bericht des Präsidenten
Die Säuberung der Farm
musste leider zweimal
wegen schlechtem Wetter verschoben werden.
Zur Zeit sind wir damit
immer noch nicht fertig.
Auch bei unserer KlubSäuberung am 1. Mai
war uns das Wetter
nicht gnädig, da es anfing zu regnen, mussten
wir die Arbeiten einstellen. Wir danken allen Freiwilligen, die mitgeholfen haben - es gab ein zeitiges
Mittagessen und alle sind dann leicht nass
nach Hause gegangen.
Am Sonntag, den 2. Mai veranstalteten unsere Chöre wieder ihr Frühlingskonzert, wie
immer war die Halle gut gefüllt. Wir wünschen den Chören alles Gute am langen
Wochenende zum Sängerfest in Windsor.
Muttertag im Klub war wieder ein voller
Erfolg und wir danken unserem Chef
Andreas und seinen Mitarbeitern für einen
gelungenen Tag. Am 20. Juni ist Vatertag an diesem Tag ehren wir unsere Väter,
wobei wir immer viel Spass haben. Kommt
bitte zum “Home On The Range” wo unsere
Natursport Gruppe diesen Ehrentag veranstaltet. Glaubt mir, wir haben einige
Väter, die eine ausgezeichnete Mahlzeit vorbereiten. Wer nicht 20 Minuten zur Farm
fahren will, der kann am gleichen Tage auf
unserem Patio Vatertag feiern. Was immer
euch recht ist - kommt und feiert mit uns!
Wer den Weg zur Farm nicht kennt, der
kann es im Computer unter www.concordiaclub.ca hervorholen, click auf “Farm”
und tippt eure Adresse rein, dann könnt Ihr
eine Karte ausdrucken, die euch den Weg
zur Farm zeigt.

Der Sommer ist endlich da und die meisten
Aktivitäten des Klubs werden von nun an
auf der Farm oder auf unserem Patio stattfinden. Die Camper werden am 3. Juli ein
Feuerwerk und ein Picknick auf der Farm
abhalten. Da der 1. Juli auf einen Donnerstag fällt, haben wir Samstag, den 3. Juli gewählt damit alle Mitglieder eine bessere
Chance haben, zur Farm zu kommen. Unser
Feuerwerk wird jedes Jahr besser dank den
Anstrengungen von Steve und seinen Helfern. Also - kommt alle zur Farm, bringt die
ganze Familie und Freunde mit und erfreut
euch eines herrlichen Tages.
In Bezug auf unsere Zonenveränderung
kann ich berichten, dass wir im Endspiel
sind. Zur Zeit liegt es an Waterloo Region,
die eine besondere Genehmigung haben
wollen über das Environment auf der Farm
wo zur Zeit alle Campplätze sind. Wir hoffen jedoch in diesem Jahr noch alles zum
Abschluss zu bringen.
Was Oktoberfest anbetrifft, so legt uns die
Regierung von Ontario immer neue Hindernisse in den Weg. Manchmal fragt man sich,
ob sie evtl. Oktoberfest kaputt machen wollen? Es war schlimm genug, dass unser Aufsichtspersonal jedes Jahr ihre Lizenz erneuern müssen, was den Klub $80.00 pro Person kostet; nun kommt noch dazu, dass jeder ein Examen absolvieren muss was noch
einmal $60.00 kostet. Ausserdem muss jeder Neuanfänger 40 Stunden Unterricht erhalten. Die Unkosten für den Klub werden
jedes Jahr höher; um unseren Profit nicht zu
schmälern, müssen wir uns immer neue
Ideen und Verbesserungen einfallen lassen.
Es ist nicht einfach, wenn einem immer
wieder neue Hindernisse in den Weg gelegt
werden. Oktoberfest ist doch für die ganze
Wirtschaft des Kreises von Bedeutung.
Ich hoffe, euch alle auf der Farm, dem Patio
und im Klub begrüssen zu können.

President’s Report
Farm clean-up had to be postponed twice
due to inclement weather, and at the time of
this writing, had not yet been completed.
The weather also did not cooperate for our
Club clean-up on May the 1st. We had to
cut the clean- up short, due to the rain. Our
thanks go to all of the volunteers who came
out to help – we all had an early lunch, and
went home slightly wet!
On Sunday, May the 2nd, the Choirs held
their Spring Concert. They had a good
turnout, and we wish them well for the
Sängerfest in Windsor on the long weekend
in May.
Mother’s Day once again was an outstanding
success and we thank our Chef Andreas and
his staff for a job well done.
Father’s Day is June 20th , so let’s give Dad
his due as well and have some fun while
we’re at it! Join us at “The Home On The
Range”, the Father’s Day event hosted by the
Outdoors Group. Believe me, some of the
Fathers do an absolutely amazing job of
preparing the meals for that day. If a twentyminute drive to the Farm is too much for
you, then join the crowd on the Patio at the
Club. Either way, come celebrate with us. If
you don’t know how to get to the Farm, simply access the internet, type in www.concordiaclub.ca , click on Farm, type in your
address ,and you can print out directions to
the Farm from your home.
Now that summer has arrived, most of the
Club’s activities will switch to the Farm and
the Patio. The Campers again will stage
their Canada Day Fireworks and Picnic on
Saturday, July the 3rd . This makes it easier
for all of our members to join them, rather
than on July 1st which falls on a Thursday.
The Fireworks are getting better year after
year, thanks to Steve and his gang. So come
on out, bring the family and your friends
and enjoy the day on the Farm.
As for our Zone change, we are in the final
stages of approval. The delay right now is
due to the Region. They want a legal easement over the E.S.P.A. portion of the Farm.
We will keep on pushing, as we really
would like to have this project completed
this year.
As for Oktoberfest, the Ontario Government
is putting even more restrictions on us.
Sometimes I wonder if they are deliberately
trying to kill the Festival? It was bad enough
when all of our Security staff had to have
their licences renewed yearly at a cost of $
80.00 each, but now they now have to pass
an exam at a cost of $ 60.00 each. Plus, any
new recruits will have to take 40 hours of
classroom instruction. The costs for the
Club keep on climbing, and we constantly
have to come up with new ideas and
improvements for Oktoberfest just to keep
our bottom line relatively healthy. It is terribly frustrating to keep having obstacles
thrown our way despite how much
Oktoberfest benefits this entire community.

Der Geschäftsführer berichtet
Oktoberfest Eintrittskarten
Auch dieses Jahr waren wir
positiv überrascht von der
regen Nachfrage nach unseren Eintrittskarten zum
bevorstehenden Oktoberfest. Ganz gleich ob es um
den Verkaufstag für Mitglieder geht oder um den
Verkauf an die allgemeine
Bevölkerung: der Andrang ist groß und wir
haben leider nie genug Karten, um jedermann zufrieden zu stellen. I diesem Jahr kamen ca. 90 Mitglieder am ersten Verkaufstag
und diese konnten wir weitgehend zufrieden stellen. Eine Woche später gingen die
Tickets dann zum allgemeinen Verkauf, und
da stellten sich wiederum so ca. 70 Personen an, und das ab 22 Uhr am Vorabend.
Man hatte sogar ein kleines Zelt mitgebracht
um darunter die Nacht zu verbringen.
Leider muß hierbei feststellend gesagt werden, daß viele einfach keine Karten bekommen, weil sich auch viele “Wiederverkäufer“ in die Reihen gesellen. Das fängt leider
schon bei der Mitgliederschlange an, denn
zumindest ein „Wiederverkäufer“ ist seit 10
Jahren Mitglied im Klub und hat meiner
Meinung nach die ganze Sache durchorganisiert. Man hat denselben Mann dann auch
am öffentlichen Verkaufstag wieder im
Parkplatz in einem Auto gesehen. Das meint
sehr wahrscheinlich, daß er sich Karten
durch andere Leute erwirbt, um sie später
weiterzuverkaufen. Sehr wahrscheinlich ist
das auch mit ein Grund warum und weshalb die Karten gleich so knapp sind. Ich
finde es besonders dann tragisch wenn jemand sich nicht einmal 4 oder so Karten
erwerben kann.

Ich hoffe wir versuchen einen neuen Weg
des Vorverkaufs zu finden, damit diese
Situationen nicht entstehen.
Mit unserem OnLine Verkauf hatten wir in
diesem Jahr auch nicht viel Glück, denn
gleich zum Anfang entwickelte sich ein
Problem, weshalb keinerlei Tickets on line
verkauft werden konnten. Dafür glühten die
Telefonleitungen, denn viele versuchten
irgendeine Antwort zu erhalten bzw. einen
Verkauf abzuwickeln – und darauf waren
wir nicht ganz eingestellt! Wie gesagt, das
Problem lag nicht im Hause, sondern bei
unserem „Service Provider“ - dieser hatte
noch eine letztliche Änderung am System
vorgenommen und dabei ist die ganze Sache
abgestürzt, da eine der Dateien korrumpiert
war und irgendwie nicht mehr gerettet werden konnte. Bis sie diese Ausgabe der
Nachrichten erhalten, ist die Sache be-

Eröffnung der Gartenwirtschaft
Noch einmal ein Hinweis darauf daß wir am
Dienstagabend, dem 1. Juni unsere jährliche
“Eröffnung der Gartenwirtschaft“ feiern.
Es soll wieder einmal so richtig gemütlich
werden, mit zünftiger Blasmusik, deutschem Fürstenberg Bier vom Fass und natürlich auch mit gegrilltem, sei es nun Bratwurst, Leberkäse oder Hamburger, die wir
übrigens für nur je $ 3 einschließlich
Steuern anbieten werden.
Es soll ab 17 Uhr losgehen! Seien Sie mit
dabei.
Wir müssen aber trotzdem noch hoffen, daß
das Wetter mitmacht und auch viele Mitglieder von diesem Angebot Gebrauch ma-
chen. Spielen wird die Transylvania Hofbräu Blaskapelle!! Also ganz zünftig!!Sollte
sich der Wetterbericht verschlechtern oder
die Band absagen dann wäre es wohl empfehlenswert, sich telefonisch im Klub oder
auf unserer Webseite davon zu verständigen
ob dieser Veranstaltung stattfindet bzw.
nicht.

Gartenwirtschaft
Wenn wir schon beim Thema sind: unsere
Patio, sei es zum Mittagessen, einem gemütlichen Nachmittag bei Kaffee und Kuchen
oder auch zum Abendessen ist ein idealer
Platz sich bei guten Speisen und Getränken
zu entspannen. Unsere Gartenanlage darum
herum ist einmalig, denn unsere freiwilligen Helfer pflanzen und verschönern diese
schon seit Wochen!! Viele unserer Gäste
sind immer wieder begeistert und erzählen
uns, daß unsere Patio die schönste in der
Stadt sein muss! Machen Sie deshalb davon
Gebrauch!
We also did not have much luck with our
on-line ticket sales, as there was a problem
on the first day and no tickets could be
sold!. Our telephone lines were busy all
morning just to explain to customers why
they could not purchase tickets – and let me
tell you – that is no fun! The problem was
here with our service provider who made
some last minute changes and corrupted all
of the data tables – effectively rendering the
“shopping cart” useless. Of course all efforts
are undertaken to rectify this situation
quickly. By the time you have this issue of
the Nachrichten we should have solved the
crisis.

To ensure that we have at least warm weather we've moved the official Patio Opening
Party to Tuesday, June 1st at 5pm (Tentative
date, pending on weather). Our Kitchen will
grill Sausages on a bun, fine meatloaf on a
bun as well as Hamburgers for only $ 3.inclusive applicable taxes!! And..... of
course we’ll have a draft beer station set up
where we’ll feature our new Fuerstenberg
Beer from the Black Forest area in Germany.
For your musical entertainment we'll be featuring the Transylvania Band! All we need
to do now is to hope for two things: That the
weather will co-operate and that many of
you will come out to enjoy our patio opening!! We'll be starting at 5pm!!

Oktoberfest Tickets
This year again was no exception: we had
long line ups with customers willing to wait
to get their hands on to some of our tickets.
First of course it was our members and one
week later we've dealt with the public sale.
On the public sale date we have some individuals who this year set up a garden type
tent at 10pm to spend the night waiting at
our front door to be the first ones in.
Unfortunately on the public sale date I have
the impression that at least 20 individuals
amongst the first customers are really “resellers”. Also unfortunately we have re-sellers who have become members and exercise
their privilege to obtain the maximum of
tickets. That makes it all very disappointing
for genuine customers who only need a few
customers and cannot get them. I sincerely
think we have to change our ticket distribution/allocation system to ensure a fairer way
for everybody.

Patio lunch and supper
When we are on this subject: of course this
is also the time to come on out and to enjoy
what our beautiful patio has to offer. Be it
for lunch or supper – it's the ideal place to
enjoy company! I don't think there are too
many places in town like ours! Many of our
guests confirm this and of course compliment us on how beautiful the setting of our
patio really is. Enjoy!

CLUB CLEANING
On May 1st we had our annual cleaning of
the club property. Too bad the volunteers
got surprised by rain but the work was
almost done.
All helpers gathered afterwards for lunch, of
course with one or two cool beers.

Man sagt der April macht was er will, aber
dieses Jahr zeigte er sich von der besten
Seite “Sonnenschein pur”. Das Bockbierfest
der Frauengruppe am 10. April 2010 war
wieder ein Erfolg.
Das Essen war sehr gut, danke Koch Andreas und seiner Crew. Nur das dunkle Bockbier fehlte, was ja eigentlich dazugehört zu
so einem Fest. Miss Concordia 2009 Lori
Artinger wurde verabschiedet und die neue
Miss Concordia 2010 Kristen Storer wurde
gekrönt, wir wüschen Kristen Storer ein
erfolgreiches Jahr. Danke den einzelnen
Gruppen, die erschienen sind und der Concordia Tanzgruppe Narrenzunft. Nächste

Concordia Chöre
Ein herzliches Dankeschön an alle Gäste die
unser Frühlingskonzert am 3. Mai besucht
haben. Die Temperatur in der Halle war
hoch, und ich bin sicher, dass unser Dirigent dabei etwas Gewicht verloren hat.
Doch wieder einmal wurden die Erwartungen von unserem Dr. Alfred Kunz erfüllt,
und er führte uns durch ein reichhaltiges
und interessantes Programm. Ich hoffe, dass
es allen gefallen hat, und diese kulturelle
Tradition auch weiterhin unterstützt wird.
Im nächsten Bericht werde ich über unseren
Trip zum Windsor-Sängerfest berichten. Am
14. Juni ist dann unsere letzte Gesangsprobe, die mit dem traditionellen Gulaschabend auf der Farm endet. Dieses Jahr möchten wir, dass alle Sänger und Gäste ihre
eigenen Teller und das Besteck mitbringen.
Wir wollen damit die grüne Initiative unterstützen und haben dann auch weniger Abfall, also geht grün. Unser Chorpicnic findet
am 14. August auf der Farm statt. Ich
möchte dazu nochmals jedes Mitglied daran
erinnern die Spenden für unsere “Grand
Tombola“ an Fred Trautrim zu geben. Fred
ist zu erreichen auf unseren Proben oder
unter seiner Cell Nr. 519-635-8389. Fred bittet und nimmt an: gute Preise, kleine und
grosse Geldgeschenke, sowie Geschenkgutscheine u.s.w. Dieses Jahr ist das 50.
Jubiläum unseres gemischten Chors. Wir
haben einen langen Weg zu gehen um das
Bestehen unseres Männerchors zu erreichen, der 1873 gegründet wurde, 137 Jahre
her, welche Leistung! Doch 50 Jahre ist ein
goldenes Jubiläum und der gemischte Chor
hat in dieser Zeit so einige Erfolge erlebt
und viele gute Erinnerungen werden dabei

wach, zu viele um sie hier alle zu berichten.
In den nächsten Monaten werde ich einige
von diesen mit euch teilen. Ich war im
Archiv und habe dort einige alte Bilder gesehen und viele erkannt, die heute noch mit
uns singen. Wer erinnert sich an die Farbe
unser ersten Uniformen? Wer ritt ein Pony
zu dem Maskenball? Wer war unser am
längsten amtierender Chorpräsident? Wer
ist das älteste und jüngste Chormitglied?
Wer singt aktiv die längste Zeit? Warum
sieht Alfreds Haar so komisch aus auf alten
Bildern? Wer machte die Milchflaschen für
die Oktoberfestbude (er singt immer noch)?
Wer legte die Feldsteine in unserem Flaggenkabinett? Haben wir wirklich mal für die
Königin gesungen? Diese und andere Fragen
werde ich demnächst beantworten. Sollte
noch jemand besondere Erinnerungen und
Geschichten über unseren Chor haben, teilt
sie mir bitte mit.
CONCORDIA COIRS
A big thank you to all of our guests that
came out to see our Annual Spring Concert
on May 3rd. The temperature in the main
hall was a challenge, and I am sure our conductor lost weight trying to conduct us
through the heat. Once again Dr. Alfred
Kunz rose to the challenge and provided us
a varied and interesting program. We hope
you enjoyed it, and appreciate the support
to keep this cultural tradition going. I’ll
report in the July/August bulletin the details
of our trip to Windsor Teutonia Sängerfest.
June 14 will be our last practice, which will
end with our traditional goulash on the
farm. This year our hope is that we can
encourage ‘going green’ and not use paper
plates and plastic cutlery for our goulash
dinner. We would like each member and
guest to bring their own plate and cutlery.
We will have a supply on hand for those
that have forgotten, but we encourage you

all to get behind this initiative so that this
event generates less garbage than we need to
have.
Our choir picnic will be on August 14th this
year, and I’d like to remind each choir member to get your donations for our ‘Grand
Tombola’ to Fred Trautrim. Please approach
him at practice, or call his cell at 519-6358389. Fred will accept big prizes, small and
large cash donations, gift certificates and
more.
It’s the 50th Anniversary of the mixed choir.
We have a long way to catch up to the male
choir that was founded in 1873, but 50 years
is a golden anniversary and we want to
share the news with you. Over the last 50
years the mixed choir has enjoyed many
successes and many more memories, which
are far too numerous for this bulletin. I will
share as much as I can over the next few
months though. I went to the archives for
some inspiration. I believe one of the first
pictures of the mixed choir included many
members that are still singing today. Who
remembers the color of our first uniforms?
Who rode a live pony into the Masquerade
ball? Who was our longest standing choir
president? Who is the oldest and youngest
choir member? Who is the longest time
singing? Why does Alfred’s hair look so
funny in those old pictures? What is the
name of the member who made the milk
bottles for the Wurfbude at Oktoberfest?
(hint-he is still singing) Who was the choir
member that laid the field stones at the bottom of our flag cabinet in the main hall? Did
the choir really sing for the Queen? I will
share the answers and much more in the
coming months. Should anyone have a special memory or story you want me to share
with our readers, just let me know.

Am 17. April fand unser gemütliches Beisammensein im Concordia Klub statt. Es
war schön alle unsere
Mitglieder wiederzusehen.
On April 17th we had our social at the
Concordia Club. We were happy th see
everybody again.
Am 2. Mai sollte unser
erstes Tennisspiel stattfinden, leider machte uns das
Wetter einen “Strich” durch
die Rechnung.

Liebe Freunde!
Unsere Klubmeisterschaften gehen ganz
fein voran, unter der Leitung von John
Mayer geht alles nach Plan, wir sind bereits
in den Doppelspielen, bis ende Mai soll
alles vorbei sein! Unser Gruppenausflug am
1. Mai 2010 war sehr schön. Organisiert von
Wilma Schmidt und Henry Laube trafen wir
uns um 12.00 Uhr mittag im Skyline Hotel
zu einem Nachmittagsschoppen. Das Wetter
war schön und die Blütenbracht in Niagara
Falls war einmalig. Wir traffen uns um 6
Uhr im Sheraton on the Falls im Speisesaal
zum Abendessen, wir hatten eine wunder-
bare Aussicht über die Faelle. Es war ein
schöner Abend. Sonntag morgen hatten wir
ein gutes Frühstück und zurück gings nach
Kitchener. Wir alle kamen wieder in einem
Stück zurück. Vielen Dank an Henry mit
seiner Frau Ellen, Wilma und Gerhard
Schmidt, Hans und Margarita Malthaner für
die Arbeit die ihr geleistet habt. Wie gesagt
die Tischtennisspiele werden bis Ende Mai
beendigt sein.

Our Club Championship games are in to the
Double games now, John Mayer our tournament leader will have every game over by
the end of May. Our Group Springtrip was
on Mai 1. 2010 - Niagara Falls, Skyline
Hotel was our destination. The weather was
good, the company super. We all met at the
Sheraton Tower for supper. I like to thank
Wilma and Gerd Schmidt for organizing
the Trip, Henry Laube and Ellen, Hans and
Margarita Malthaner for helping. It was very
nice.

Outdoor Group
This will be the last bulletin until the fall.
Our Rice Lake fishing trip is May 15 and
who ever will be writing the bulletin in the
fall will surely give you the highlights of our
weekend. Our annual meeting was on April
13 at the Concordia Club. This was a very
important meeting and we only had 9 people show up. Six of these nine members
were on the committee and one was your
Concordia Club President, Werner Schlueter. It was very upsetting to think that the
Outdoor Group members do not care about
voting in a new committee or acknowledging the old committee for their efforts
throughout the year. This is one of the reasons why I am stepping down from the committee. It is funny how our members know
when I miss doing a write up but they do
not see the write up with the date and time
of the most important meeting of the year.
Here are some events to look forward to.
June 6 is horse back riding at Horse Back
Adventures on Northfield Drive. You have
to book this in advance by calling Lori
Beyerle at 519-699-4411. The ride starts at
12 noon and it is a one hour ride. Last year
we had a barbeque after riding. Call Lori
Beyerle for all the details.
We will be having our annual Fathers Day
breakfast and barbeque on June 20 at the
Home On The Range which is at the Concordia Farm.
On Sunday August 22 at 2 PM. we are having a free corn roast and Oktoberfest sign
up. This will be at the Home On The Range,
all are welcome.

Although it is June as you are reading this
article it is being written on May 7th. The
team is anxiously anticipating this evening
as we kick off our 2010 season against probably the strongest team in our league these
past few years. It is cold and raining but
hopefully Mother Nature will co-operate
and dry up by tonight. We have been training hard this past month and the guys are
ready to go.
Once again the start of a new season brings
endless possibilities for us all. At this
moment we are thinking only about tonight’s game and we are ready to give our
opponents all they can handle. As I watch
lightning striking outside my window I
know that severe weather is the only thing
that will stop us this evening. Perhaps we
can capture lightning in a bottle and win it
all this year. Watch for updates in future
bulletins and look for our schedule posted
at the club. We look forward to seeing you at
the club and hopefully the field as well.

Farewell Speech
When I look back upon my year as Miss
Concordia my feelings of the whole experience are indescribable. I am filled with
memories that have truly touched a place in
my heart. I am filled with emotion as I
think about all the events that I was privileged to attend and share moments with
many, many club members and guests.
am fortunate to have been the Miss representing the Concordia Club the past year. I
am lucky to have met so many wonderful
people and even more fortunate to say I had
an opportunity to participate in such a
grand cultural experience.
As I look back on the remarkable year I
would have never imagined what was in
store for me. When Denise Brown 2008
Miss Concordia handed her sash over to me
a whole new chapter in my life started just
last April 2009. I was nervous I have to
admit since Denise was such a wonderful
Miss Representative, but I was up for the
challenge.
My official duties started with the Easter
buffets, Mothers and Fathers Day celebra-
tions. If you
didn’t notice
me at these
events that
is because I
was in the
hallway at
the
club
m a k i n g
crafts with
the children.
Working
with youth
is my passion I am
glad I was
able to use
my skills being Miss this year.
In addition, there were many other events at
our club and at other clubs that I attended.
I was truly honored to have been able to
ware the sash and crown so proudly at all
these places. Actually, I would often be
stopped by people in the crowd just to read
where I was from and to congratulate me. I
have to admit it was a nice feeling to be recognized that way.
This brings us to Oktoberfest. All I really
can say is WOW what a week that was.

Ladies and Gentlemen
My name is Kristen Storer and I would like
to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to represent
them as Miss
Concordia 2010.
I am very honoured to be representing

club and I am

I am a 2nd year
business student

Conestoga
College
and
have been a family member of the club for many years.
Becoming Miss Concordia will give me the
opportunity to become involved with the
club and to learn more about my heritage, as
well as to honour my grandparents Ursula
and Horst Possehl. I know my Opi would
have been proud to see me crowned.
I would like to congratulate Lori on her successful reign as Miss Concordia 2009, and

Garden Group
In April Charles Robinson presented a multitude of garden information on many topics. We have an unusually early, mild spring
and that means we have had to squeeze two
months of preparing slowly into one month
of hectic gardening - everything blooming
and maturing 2-3 weeks earlier than usual.
May’s evening was with Gwynedd
Brundrett, a Master Gardener from the K-W
Garden Club, speaking on “Pesticide-Free
Gardening”. Everyone has had some adjustments with new regulations in place.
In June we have a change in plans. On June
9th we’ll be visiting Colour Paradise in
Mannheim (Ottawa St) for a guided tour of
the centre and a demonstration, “Thrillers
and Spillers”. This demo will show how to
take 2 or 3 plants that will harmonize in
planters/containers that can be for the
house or garden. Knowing which plants
compliment on another and “spill” from
the planter will be very interesting.
The Centre has asked us to come earlieraround 6:30p.m. - so we’ll car pool from the
Club at 6:20.
