Our worldwide reputation for 100% reliability controlling high inrush loads in critical environments
is one that no other controls manufacturer can match. The NexLight 2-Wire communication means the
greatest level of system flexibility and programming. Even years after initial installation; adding to or
modifying the system is simple and fast. All with the lowest installed cost.
NexLight is Value.
A leader in energy reduction, NexLight Control Systems save an average of 30-60% in building energy
costs. Used frequently in LEED building projects, energy savings begin the day of system activation
and continue for the life of the building. Schools, university campuses, hospitals, federal buildings,
airports, warehouses, office parks, correctional & manufacturing facilities are all ideal applications for
our system, improving living and working environments for building occupants.
NexLight is Designed to Fit Your Building.
Unlike other lighting control manufacturers, NexLight control systems are designed to fit the specific
requirements of each building project. Our difference is delivering reliable systems that meet today’s
higher energy standards while providing the flexibility to grow with future facilities needs. With
thousands of installations around the U.S.A. and abroad, NexLight continues to lead in design built
solutions for buildings requiring the highest level of reliability, even in the harshest conditions.

Energy Code Compliance
The national energy code standards (ASHRAE/IESNA) 90.1-1999 is the national baseline for
many energy oriented programs. The Department of Energy will now recognize ASHRAE
90.1-2004 as the new national energy standard, superseding 90.1-1999 requiring all states
to comply by December 30, 2010. NexLight works with building architects, engineers and
specifiers to ensure controls have been designed to meet code compliance.

NX-CL Current
Limiting Panels
The ideal solution
for
line-voltage trac
k systems
suB-Branch circuit current limiter
(NX-Mini-C12)
Overcome Code Challenges & Provide Enhanced Lighting Experiences in Retail and Commercial Spaces
Challenge: Recent changes to lighting calculations for most energy codes include a deduction for each linear foot of track. California Title
24 and others “charge” anywhere from 30 to 70 watts/foot. Most connected loads are far less than the per-foot requirements
of these codes.
Solution: The NX-CL current limiting panel overcomes these requirements by setting a definite current limit to significantly lower the VA
rating of any line-voltage track lighting without the penalty of watts-per-linear-foot code calculations.
Example: Title 24 requires four track circuits with a total length of 200ft at a minimum of 9000 watts (45watts/foot x 200 ft). installing
a NX-CL panel would limit each of the four tracks to 6Amps or less, reducing the lighting load calculation to 2400 watts.
Additionally, relay control and dimming may be added providing enhanced control and light level adjustments (see below).

the 4 pacK relay W/controller
typical application:
The WRT4124 6 Amp Relay with integral Controller (4) are four-address
relay controllers integrated with four independent, single pole 6 amp
mechanically latching line voltage relays. They receive signals from the
NexLight signal bus and provide On/Off control of lighting and other
electrical loads. They can also handle pilot duty loads.
Since they receive both the operating power and signal from the
network, they can be remotely located for convenient installation like
NexLight ceiling tile panels or into existing junction boxes (retrofits).
Significant line voltage wiring reductions can be achieved by locating
them near the load location.

Return to Close
Bypass / Shunt Relay
OVERVIEW:
The Return to Close Bypass/ Shunt Relays are UL924 listed and designed
for applications that require an emergency load to be switched on in the
event of loss of normal utility power. Prepackaged in their own NEMA1
enclosure or panel versions to be installed inside an enclosure.
When normal power is present, the ESR relay coil is activated and the
emergency panel is fed from normal power. The lighting load can be
switched on/off using an individual wall switch.
When normal power drops out, the ESR coil is deactivated and N/C
contact falls closed. The automatic transfer switch changes over to backup
(generator) power, and the lighting load is illuminated regardless of the
position of the wall switches. This ensures emergency lighting will be on
during power loss.

Good lighting is an imperative in education. Relatively high light levels are
needed to prevent eye strain when
reading. Scenes are needed for different
functions – lectures, labs, audio-visual
aids, and more.

Create Your
Environment
Conference, training and board
rooms are generally more about
setting an environment for different
events – meetings, presentations,
and other gatherings. Dimming
is generally a part of lighting
control for these rooms, as well as
automatically turning off the lights
after a meeting is over. Occupancy
sensing often makes more sense
for this application as scheduling
tends to be somewhat random for
these rooms.

Whole Building Connectivity
Unlimited system scalability sets NexLight apart. Simply
connect all system panels and components via 2-Wire
signal bus. Centralize or Distribute as needed, there are
virtually no location restrictions with NexLight.
S
In addition to the time clock
scheduling, the combination
of occupancy sensors plus the
conveniently located wall switches
work to ensure lights remain ON
when a space is occupied and OFF
when it’s not. Bi-level switching
can be completed by switching
alternate rows of fixtures (or
switch OFF half the lamps in each
fixture) in unoccupied spaces,
as detected by sensors or as a
function to a programmed time
based command. Adding digital
switches provides added manual
adjustment for the ideal lighting
when occupant needs differ from
automatic settings. NexLight time
clock scheduling can provide
advanced scheduling as part of a
total facility schedule.
Typical Office Building Energy Consumption
Recent estimates, find lighting accounts for 38 percent
of all energy used in offices. In many businesses lighting
is actually the biggest draw on electricity. Lighting
control provides a substantial opportunity for increased
efficiency, and long-term savings.

Hotels & Motels
Many Ways To Save
Hotels and motels offer several
opportunities for energy saving
by controlling lighting and other
loads:
Card Switch
The NexLight Card Reader can
be used to control lighting and
convenience loads in each room.
Guests place the room key into the
card reader to energize the lights.
When exiting; simply remove the
key. A timer then de-energizes the
room until the Guest returns.
Master Switch
Rooms can also be de-energized
automatically at checkout time, and
re-energized from the front desk.
The front desk can use a master
switch control to monitor and turn
on or off power to any room in the
hotel. Rooms can be powered up
as guest check in so that rooms
have time to cool down or warm up
before guests walk in.

High end properties can also use
in-room LCD touch controls to
allow guests to create a unique
experience in each room. These
scenes add to the ambiance and
unique lifestyle offered to their
more discriminating guests.

industrial Applications
Typical Industrial Application Energy Consumption
Nearly 40 percent of the electricity used in a typical
warehouse is consumed by lighting equipment.
*According to the 1999 survey by the U.S. Government Energy Info
Administration
Factory
Lighting a large industrial space
is expensive, but good lighting is
needed for safety and improved
productivity. Introducing zone
lighting with scheduled ON/OFF
times in concert with manual
adjustments
ensure
optimal
lighting. Where natural light is
available, daylight sensors will
automatically reduce the artificial
lighting accordingly. If desired, the
control panel can also be easily
tied into a BMS system.

Warehouse
In any warehouse space, schedule
or occupancy based lighting
control can insure that power is
not consumed by lighting after
hours. The Astro Time Clock keeps
daily ON / OFF schedules based on
building hours. Add occupancy
sensors for additional savings
to keep lights off until motion is
detected. A zone lighting layout
will allow for only the needed area
to be turned ON saving additional
energy.
