of Modra, Pezinok and Svätý Jur on the
Little-Carpathian Wine Route.

the tourist lookout tower on Veľká homola
the target of your steps, or go to Pezinská
Baba where you can take delight in winter
sports on the ski slopes or cross-country ski
trails, or do some hiking on trails leading

artificial Danube waves. Your day in Čunovo would not be complete without visiting
the Danubiana Modern Art Gallery, or
tasting the local gastronomy.
When calmer water is your preference,
then the lakes of the Slnečné jazerá Water
Centre in Senec should be included in your
itinerary. Called also Slovak Tahiti, the
Slnečné jazerá can be enjoyed not only in
summer, but throughout the year thanks
to the Aquapark and its waterslides and
wellness centre.
ON A BICYCLE TO DISCOVER HISTORY
AND NATURE
The historical sites connected with
the noble family of the Pálffys, sacral
monuments and the pilgrimage site of
Marianka, directly amidst the woods of
Záhorie, make this region an ideal place
for relaxation of body and soul. On a
bicycle, on foot or by car, you can easily
get to the ruins of the Plavecký Castle or
the Pajštún Castle. You will be rewarded
by a beautiful view of the surrounding
countryside, And if you are lucky enough
and the visibility is good, you can see as far
as the Austrian Alps. You can get to know
the Morava River from a canoe, or a bike
along the Eurovelo 13 Route which in the
river floodplain comprises an instructive
path (80km). In the Plavecký Karst, the
Deravá skala and Tmavá skala Caves are
accessible to public.
Visit the town of Malacky and you will find
several sacral monuments there in one
place. The synagogue, where in the past
the Torah was read, is now used as a concert hall and an art studio. Can you believe
that in Malacky is such a curiosity to be
seen as a copy of the Holy Stairs in Rome?

1 BRATISLAVA CASTLE
The Castle Hill had been settled from pre-historic times until the times of the Roman Empire,
and then again since the Great-Moravian period. The first written record of the Castle dates
back to 907 AD. The height of its glory is linked
to the time when Bratislava was the capital and
coronation town of the Hungarian Kingdom.
The Castle was the seat of the ruler, and its
Crown Tower guarded the coronation regalia
of the Hungarian rulers. In 1811, the Castle
was destroyed by a fire, and has undergone
several reconstructions since then. Currently, its
rooms are used as official reception rooms of
the National Council of the Slovak Republic and
exhibition halls of the History Museum of the
Slovak National Museum.
2 ST. MARTIN’S CATHEDRAL
Consecrated in 1452, this Gothic three-nave
cathedral witnessed 19 coronations of Hungarian kings and their wives taking place in 1563
– 1830. For the town the most important one
in terms of history was the coronation of Maria
Theresa in 1741. Maria Theresa opted for the
Bratislava Castle as her official royal residence.
The period of coronations in Bratislava is
remembered by a gold-plated replica of the
Hungarian royal crown placed on the top of its
85-meter tall tower. The interior of the church
comprises several chapels, the treasury and the
crypts. The Cathedral is open to public daily
during regular visiting hours.
3 OLD TOWN HALL
It is a complex of several buildings built in
different styles, sharing a joint inner courtyard.
In the past, it was the seat of the local council
headed by a mayor. Since 1868 it has housed
the Bratislava City Museum. The basis of
the museum exhibitions consists of exhibits
documenting the historical development of
the town, from the Neolithic Age up to the end
of the 1930s. The Tower of the Old Town Hall,
which is part of the museum exhibition, offers
from its observation deck a beautiful view of
the Old Town. In front of the Old Town Hall
stands a Renaissance fountain dating back to
1572, the Maximilian Fountain, which is a popular meeting point for the Bratislava citizens.
4 PRIMATE’S PALACE
Originally a residence of the Esztergom Archbishop, the Primate´s Palace is one of the jewels
of the Neoclassicism in Slovakia. On 26 December 1805, after Napoleon´s victory in the Battle
of Austerlitz, the representatives of French
Emperor Napoleon I and Austrian Emperor
Francis I signed the Pressburg Peace Treaty.
Nowadays, the Palace is the seat of the Mayor
of Bratislava. It also houses a gallery whose
real gem is a set of six English tapestries, the
largest preserved collection of such tapestries
in the world. The tapestries were woven from
wool and silk by Flemish weavers in the English
royal manufacture in Mortlake, near London,
in the 1630s.
5 ST. MICHAEL´S GATE
It is the only preserved gate of the medieval
town fortification from the 14th century. Its
tower, offering a nice panorama view of the
city, houses the Museum of Arms and Town
Fortifications. Below the St. Michael´s Tower is
the zero point from which distances to some
world metropolises are marked.
6 F RANCISCAN CHURCH AND MONASTERY
Built in 1297 in the Gothic style, the church is
the oldest sacral building in Bratislava. It has
undergone Baroque and Classicistic reconstructions. The church and the monastery are linked
to a number of historic events taking place in
the town. In 1526, the Franciscan Monastery
was the place where the Hungarian Parliament
met to elect the first Habsburg to be the King
of Hungary – Ferdinand Habsburg. After the
coronation, the king dubbed the Hungarian
Knights of the Golden Spur in the Franciscan
Church.
7 ACADEMIA ISTROPOLITANA
The first university within the territory of
today´s Slovakia was established in 1465 by
Hungarian King Mathias Corvinus. Several distinguished scholars of that time worked at the
university, among others also Professor Regiomontanus, a famous mathematician, astrologer
and astronomer. Today this late-Gothic building
is the seat of the Academy of Performing Arts.
8 C HURCH AND CONVENT OF THE ST.
CLARE NUNS
Until the 18th century, the single-nave Gothic
church and the Renaissance convent were used
by the Order of St. Claire. Later the convent belonged to the Academy of Law and the Catholic
Secondary School. Now the convent is part of
the University Library, and the church is used as
a concert and exhibition hall.
9 HOUSE OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
This burgher house with the narrowest Rococo
façade in Central Europe was built in the second
half of the 18th century. Today it houses the
Museum of Clocks that documents the history
of clock-making from the late 17th century to
the late 19th century. The museum exhibition
includes also a unique set of portable sundials
from the 17th and 18th centuries.
10 GRASSALKOVICH PALACE
This Rococo summer palace was commissioned
in 1760 by Count Anton Grassalkovich. In the
18th century, it was a hub of the social life of
the town. Among others, also Joseph Haydn
gave concerts here. After completing a reconstruction in 1996, the Palace became the seat
of the President of the Slovak Republic. The
Grassalkovich Garden lying behind the Palace is
open to public. Originally it was designed as a
French ornamental garden.
11 S LOVAK NATIONAL THEATRE
– HISTORICAL BUILDING
The neo-Renaissance building of the Slovak
National Theatre from 1886 is a work of wellknown Viennese architects F. Fellner and H.
Helmer. In the oval openings over the loggia
of the front façade of the building are busts of
famous dramatists and composers. Opera, ballet as well as play performances are given here.
Ganymede´s Fountain in front of the Theatre
was created by V. Tilgner, a native of Bratislava.

12 REDUTA
The eclectic building completed in 1919 was
rebuilt from a former Theresian granary. It is
one of the first buildings in Bratislava where
modern reinforced concrete constructions
were used. In 1949 Reduta became the seat of
the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, and since
that time it has been a place of a rich cultural
life and has been widely used for concerts and
other events of social life.
13 COMENIUS UNIVERSITY
Established in 1919, Comenius University is
the oldest and largest university in Slovakia.
Even though the current building of Comenius
University was originally destined to be a corn
exchange, it was completed for the needs of
the University in 1937.
14 B LUE CHURCH
(ST. ELISABETH’S CHURCH)
Built in the early 20th century in the Art
Nouveau style, the single-nave church is characterized by its blue plaster and blue glazed
roofing. On its front façade is an Italian mosaic
depicting St. Elisabeth of Hungary. Also the
main altar picture is dominated by a mosaic
of St. Elisabeth holding roses in her arms. The
mosaic is based on the legend of St. Elisabeth
according to which gifts she wanted to
distribute to the poor turned into roses when
she was caught by her husband frowning upon
such behaviour. A small copy of this picturesque
church is found also in the Mini-Europe Park
in Brussels.
15 C APUCHIN CHURCH
(ST. STEPHAN´S CHURCH)
Dating back to 1717, the single-nave Baroque
church is dedicated to St. Stephan of Hungary.
It was built by monks – Capuchins. In the lower
part of the picture of the main altar is a period
veduta of Bratislava with the Castle. The monastery was additionally built to the church.
16 TRINITARIAN CHURCH
The Baroque church was built in the first half
of the 18th century. The main altar – work by
A. G. Bussi – is integrated in the architecture of
the presbytery, and is highlighted by columns
and painting works of large sizes. The illusive
paintings on the arch of the presbytery and on
the dome of the nave were made by Antonio
Galli Bibiena.
17 C HURCH AND CONVENT OF THE ST.
ELISABETH NUNS
The single-nave Baroque church completed in
1743 is devoted to the founder of the order of
St. Elisabeth of Hungary, a native of Bratislava.
In the central niche of the front façade is a statue of St. Elisabeth with a beggar. Iconography
of all the visual art elements in the interior is
linked to the life of St. Elisabeth of Hungary.
18 ST. LADISLAV´S CHURCH
The Classicist sacral building was built in
1830 – 32. The construction of this church was
financed from the offerings of the faithful.
The ceremony of laying the foundation stone
of the church in 1830 was attended also by
Hungarian king Ferdinand V and the Esztergom
Archbishop, Cardinal Alexander Rudnay (as
commemorated by a plaque over the entrance
into the church).
19 GREAT LUTHERAN CHURCH
The Classicist church built by German evangelic
worshippers of the Augsburg confession was
completed in 1777. In addition to the church
worships, the church featuring excellent acoustics is used also for giving concerts.
20 SLAVÍN
A national cultural monument, memorial and
cemetery for 6 845 soldiers of the Soviet Army
killed in the Second World War during the liberation of Bratislava. At the top of a 39.5-meter
tall column stands an 11-meter tall statue of the
Victorious Soldier by A. Trizuljak. The bronze
panelled door to the memorial hall is decorated
by reliefs by R. Pribiš. Slavín is also a popular
place for walks. Its terrace offers a great view
of the city.
21 SYNAGOGUE
The only preserved and still functional orthodox synagogue in Bratislava built in 1923 –1926.
The interior is furnished with pieces of high
handicraft quality.
22 MIRBACH PALACE
The town´s most beautiful Rococo palace was
built in 1768 - 1770. It is also one of the finest
and the best preserved buildings of this style
period in Slovakia. Since 1975 the Palace has
been the seat of the Bratislava City Gallery. The
rooms with the preserved original rich decoration of rocaille ornaments house the permanent exhibition of Central European Baroque
paintings, statues and drawings. The famous
character heads by Franz Xaver Messerschmidt
can be also to be seen here. Temporary or
occasional exhibitions take place here too.
23 PÁLFFY PALACE
The current neo-classicist palace was built in
the mid-19th century. During the last reconstruction works, foundations of a Romanesque
brick house from the 13th century and a unique
Gothic palace from the period of the mid-14th
century were discovered. Today, the Palace
houses exhibitions of the Bratislava City Gallery,
including the remarkable installation by Matej
Kren, The Passage, that consists of mirrors and
almost 15 000 books creating an illusion of
infinite space.
24 ESTERHÁZY PALACE
It is one of the palaces of the noble family of
the Esterházys in Bratislava. It was built in the
19th century and is characterized by typical
neo-Renaissance elements.
Now it is the seat of the Slovak National Gallery
where temporary exhibitions of the old as well
as contemporary art of Slovak and international
artists are held.
25 OLD MARKET HALL
The building of the Old Market Hall, the first
roofed market in Bratislava, was declared a
technical monument. It was built in the eclectic
style in 1910. Nowadays, the Old Market Hall is
a venue of urban markets, cultural events and
community activities. In front of the Old Market
Hall is a glass structure covering remains of the
walls of the Chapel of St. James from the 11th
century.

1 BRATISLAVAER BURG
Der Burghügel wurde schon seit Urzeit bis zur
Zeit des römischen Imperiums und folgend seit
der großmährischen Periode besiedelt. Die
Burg wurde im Jahr 907 u. Z. erstmals schriftlich
erwähnt. Die Burg erreichte ihre größte Bedeutung in der Zeit, wann Bratislava die Haupt- und
Krönungsstadt des Ungarischen Königsreiches
war. Sie war Sitz des Monarchen, in ihrem
Krönungsturm waren die Krönungsjuwelen der
ungarischen Könige aufbewahrt. Im Jahr 1811
brannte die Burg nieder und wurde mehrmals
renoviert. In der Gegenwart befinden sich hier
die Repräsentationsräume der Nationalgalerie
der Slowakischen Republik und Expositionen
des Historischen Museums des Slowakischen
Nationalmuseums.
2 MARTINSDOM
Gotische dreischiffige Kirche wurde im Jahr
1452 eingeweiht. In den Jahren 1563-1830 fanden im Dom 19 Krönungen ungarischer Könige
und deren Gemahlinnen statt. Historisch bedeutendste für die Stadt war die Krönung von
Maria Theresia im Jahr 1741, welche die Bratislavaer Burg zu ihrem königlichen Repräsentationssitz wählte. Auf die Ära der Krönungen erinnert uns die vergoldete Replik der ungarischen
königlichen Kröne versetzt auf dem Turm in
der Höhe von 85m. Das Kircheninnere bilden
mehrere Kapellen, Schatzkammer und Grüfte.
Die Kirche ist für die Öffentlichkeit täglich in
ordentlichen Öffnungszeiten zugänglich.
3 ALTES RATHAUS
Ein Komplex von Gebäuden und diversen Stilen
mit dem gemeinsamen Hofplatz war Sitz der
Selbstverwaltung an der Spitze mit dem Richter. Seit 1868 befindet sich hier das Museum
der Stadt Bratislava. Die Basis der Museumsexposition bilden die Sammlungsgegenstände,
welche die Geschichte der Stadt vom Neolith
bis zum Ende der 30.Jahre des 20.Jahrhunderts
dokumentieren. Der Turm des Alten Rathaus,
welcher den Bestandteil der Exposition bildet,
bietet vom Rundumgang einen prachtvollen
Ausblick auf die Altstadt. Vor dem Rathaus
steht der Maximilianbrunnen, erbaut im Jahr
1572 im Renaissancestil, beliebter Treffpunkt
der Bratislavaer.
4 PRIMATIALPALAST
Ursprüngliche Residenz des Erzbischofs von
Gran gehört zu den Kostbarkeiten der klassizistischen Architektur in der Slowakei. Am 26.Dezember 1805 nach dem Sieg von Napoleon in
der Schlacht bei Slavkov unterzeichneten hier
die Vertreter des französischen Kaisers Napoleon I. und österreichischen Kaisers Franz I. den
„Frieden von Pressburg“. In der Gegenwart ist
hier der Sitz des Bürgermeisters der Hauptstadt
Bratislava, sowie auch die Galerieexposition
mit dem größten Juwel, und zwar der größten
erhaltenen Sammlung der 6 englischen Tapisserien in der Welt, welche die flämischen Weber
aus Wolle und Seide in den 30.Jahren des 17.
Jahrhunderts in englischer königlicher Manufaktur in Mortlake bei London woben.
5 MICHAELERTOR
Einziges erhaltenes Tor der mittelalterlichen
Stadtbefestigung aus dem 14.Jahrhundert.
In seinem Turm mit schönem Panoramablick
auf die Stadt befindet sich das Museum der
Waffen und Stadtbefestigung. Unter dem
Michaelerturm befindet sich der Null-Kilometer mit der Bezeichnung der Entfernungen in
ausgewählte Weltmetropolen.
6 F RANZISKANERKIRCHE UND KLOSTER
Die Kirche erbaut im Jahr 1297 im gotischen Stil
ist das älteste Sakralbauwerk in Bratislava. Sie
wurde im Barockstil und später im klassizistischen Stil umgebaut. Die Kirche und das Kloster
sind durch viele historische Ereignisse der Stadt
verbunden. Im Jahr 1526 fand im Kloster die Sitzung des ungarischen Landtags statt, welcher
den ersten Habsburger auf dem ungarischen
Thron – Ferdinand von Habsburg – zum König
wählte und während der Krönungen wurden
vom König in der Kirche ungarischen Adeligen
zu Rittern des Goldenen Sporns geschlagen.
7 ACADEMIA ISTROPOLITANA
Erste Universität auf dem Gebiet der heutigen
Slowakei wurde im Jahr 1465 vom ungarischen
König Matthias Corvinus gegründet. An der
Universität wirkten bedeutende Gebildeten
dieser Epoche, neben anderen auch der
berühmte Mathematiker, Astrologe und Astronom Professor Regiomontanus. Heute ist dieses
spätgotische Gebäude Sitz der Hochschule für
musische Künste.
8 KLARISSENKIRCHE UND KLOSTER
Einschiffige Kirche im gotischen Stil und
Kloster im Renaissance-Stil dienten dem Orden
der Klarissen. Das Kloster gehörte später der
Akademie der Rechtswissenschaften und katholischem Gymnasium, heute ist es Bestandteil
der Räumlichkeiten der Universitätsbibliothek.
Die Kirche benutzt man als Konzert- und
Ausstellungssaal.
9 HAUS ZUM GUTEN HIRTEN
Bürgerliches Haus mit engster Fassade im
Rokoko-Stil im Mitteleuropa. Heute ist es Sitz
des Uhrenmuseums, welches die Geschichte
des Uhrwesens seit Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts
bis Ende des 19.Jahrhunderts dokumentiert.
Den Bestandteil der Exposition bildet auch
der einzigartige Komplex der übertragbaren
Sonnenuhr aus dem 17.- 18.Jahrhunderts.
10 PALAIS GRASSALKOVICH
Dieses Sommerpalais im Rokoko-Stil ließ im Jahr
1760 der Graf Antal Grassalkovich erbauen.
Im 18.Jahrhundert war das Palais Zentrum
des gesellschaftlichen Lebens der Stadt, hier
konzertierte auch Joseph Haydn. Nach der
Rekonstruktion im Jahr 1996 wurde es zum Sitz
des Präsidenten der Slowakischen Republik.
Den Bestandteil des Palais bildet auch die
öffentliche Parkanlage, ursprünglich entworfen
als französischer Ziergarten.
11 SLOWAKISCHES NATIONALTHEATER –
HISTORISCHES GEBÄUDE
Gebäude im Neorenaissance-Stil aus dem Jahr
1868 von berühmten Wienerarchitekten F.
Fellner und H. Helmer. In den ovalförmigen
Öffnungen über die Loggia der Theaterfassade
wurden Büsten der berühmten Dramatiker und
Musikkomponisten angebracht. Im Theater finden Opern-, Ballet- und Theatervorstellungen
statt. Vor dem Theater steht der Ganymedbrunnen, Werk des Landsmanns aus Bratislava
V. Tilgner.
12 REDOUTE
Eklektisches Gebäude aus dem Jahr 1919 erbaute man vom ursprünglichen theresianischen
Kornspeicher und es gehört zu den ersten Bauwerken in Bratislava, bei welchen applizierte
moderne Eisenbetonkonstruktionen verwendet
wurden. Seit 1949 ist es Sitz der Slowakischen
Philharmonie. Seitdem bietet es der breiten
Öffentlichkeit kulturelle Möglichkeiten in Form
des reichen Konzert- und Gesellschaftslebens.
13 COMENIUS – UNIVERSITÄT
Die Comenius- Universität ist die älteste und
größte Universität, gegründet im Jahr 1919.
Ihr gegenwärtiges Gebäude, ursprünglich
erbaut als Getreidebörse, wurde im Jahr 1937
für Bedürfnisse der Universität umgebaut.
14 B LAUE KIRCHE
(SANKT- ELISABETH- KIRCHE)
Einschiffige Kirche im Sezessions-Stil vom
Anfang des 20.Jahrhunderts ist durch blaue
Putzfarbe und blau glasierte Bedachung charakterisiert. Auf der Hauptfassade befindet sich
das italienische Mosaik der hl. Elisabeth aus Ungarn, ebenfalls dem Hauptaltarbild dominiert
das Mosaik mit der hl. Elisabeth, die auf den
Armen Rosen trägt. Das Mosaik hält sich an der
Legende von der hl. Elisabeth fest. Die Gaben,
welche sie den Armen schenkte, wandelten sich
im Augenblick deren Bedrohung in Rosen um.
Das Modell dieser Kirche befindet sich auch im
Park Mini- Europa in Brüssel.
15 K APUZINERKIRCHE
(STEPHANKIRCHE)
Einschiffige Kirche im Barock-Stil aus dem Jahr
1717 geweiht dem hl. Stephan von Ungarn
wurde vom Orden der Kapuzinern erbaut. Im
unteren Teil des Hauptaltarsgemäldes befindet
sich die zeitgemäße Darstellung von Bratislava
mit der Burg. Zur Kirche wurde auch das Kloster
zugebaut.
16 TRINITARIERKIRCHE
Die Barockkirche erbaute man in der 1.Hälfte
des 18.Jahrhunderts. Das Hauptaltar – Werk
von A.G.Bussi – wurde der Architektur des
Presbyteriums angeschlossen und durch Säulen
und bildende Werke großer Ausmaßen betont.
Scheingemälde auf dem Gewölbe des Presbyteriums und Schiffkuppel ist das Werk von
Antonio Galli-Bibiena.
17 ELISABETHKIRCHE UND KLOSTER
Die einschiffige Kirche im Barock-Stil aus dem
Jahr 1743 ist der Ordensgründerin und Landsmännin aus Bratislava der hl. Elisabeth von Ungarn geweiht. In der mittleren Fassadennische
befindet sich die Statue der hl. Elisabeth mit
einem Bettler. Ikonographie sämtlicher bildender Elemente im Interieur ist mit dem Leben der
hl. Elisabeth von Ungarn verbunden.
18 LADISLAUSKIRCHE
Klassizistisches Sakralbauwerk erbaut im Jahr
1830-32 von den Almosen der Gläubigen. Bei
der Grundsteinlegung im Jahr 1830 (darüber
zeugt auch die Aufschrift über dem Eingang in
die Kirche) war der ungarische Monarch Ferdinand V. zusammen mit dem Erzbischof aus Gran
und Kardinal Alexander Rudnay, persönlich
anwesend.
19 GROSSE EVANGELISCHE KIRCHE
Klassizistische Kirche ursprünglich der
deutschen Gläubigen Augsburger-Konfession
stammt aus dem Jahr 1777. Die Kirche mit ausgezeichneter Akustik wird neben Messen auch
für Konzerte ausgenutzt.
20 SLAVÍN
Nationale Kulturdenkwürdigkeit, Denkmal und
Friedhof von 6845 Mitglieder der Sowjetarmee, gefallen bei der Befreiung von Bratislava
während des II. Weltkrieges. An der Spitze des
39,5m hohen Pfeilers befindet sich die Statue
des Siegessoldaten vom akademischen Bildhauer A. Trizuliak. Die Bronzekassettentür der
Ehrenhalle verzieren die Reliefs von R. Pribiš.
Slavín ist ein beliebter Ort für Spaziergänge,
von seiner Terrasse ist ein wunderschöner
Ausblick auf die Stadt.
21 SYNAGOGE
Einzige erhaltene und funktionelle orthodoxe
Synagoge in Bratislava aus den Jahren 19231926. Das Interieur enthält die Einrichtung von
großer künstlerisch-handwerklicher Qualität.
22 PALAIS MIRBACH
Das schönste Palais im Rokoko-Stil wurde in den
Jahren 1768-1770 erbaut. Es gehört ebenfalls
zu den schönsten und am meisten erhaltenen
Baudenkmälern der vorstehend angeführten
Periode in der Slowakei. Das Palais ist seit
1975 Sitz der Galerie der Stadt Bratislava. In
ursprünglichen Interieuren reich verziert mit
muschelförmigen Ornamenten ist die ständige
Exposition der mitteleuropäischen Barockkunst
(Malerei, Bildhauerei und Grafik) installiert.
Hier befinden sich auch die berühmten Charakterköpfe von Franz Xaver Messerschmidt, ebenfalls werden hier auch gelegentliche, zeitlich
begrenzte Ausstellungen organisiert.
23 PALAIS PÁLFFY
Das gegenwärtige Palais wurde in der Hälfte
des 19.Jahrhunderts im spätklassizistischen
Stil erbaut. Bei letzter Palaisrenovierung entdeckte man die Fundamente des romanischen
gemauerten Hauses aus dem 13.Jahrhundert
und einzigartigen gotischen Palais aus der Zeit
um die Hälfte des 14.Jahrhunderts. Heute ist
es Sitz der Exposition der Galerie der Stadt
Bratislava, in welcher sich die bemerkenswerte
Projektion des bildenden Künstlers Matej Kren
„Passage“ – befindet, bestehend aus Spiegeln
und fast 15 tausend Bücher, welche die Illusion
des unendlichen Raumes schaffen.
24 PALAIS ESTERHÁZY
Eins der Palais des Grafengeschlechts Esterházy
erbaut im 19. Jahrhundert zeichnet sich durch
typische Neorenaissance-Elemente aus. Es ist
Sitz der Slowakischen Nationalgalerie, hier
finden zeitweilige Ausstellungen der alten
und zeitgemäßen Kunst der slowakischen und
internationalen Künstler statt.
25 ALTE MARKTHALLE
Das Gebäude der Alten Markthalle, als erster
gedeckter Markthalle in Bratislava, ist ein
technisches Denkmal erbaut im Jahr 1910 im
eklektischen Stil. Gegenwärtig wurde die Alte
Markthalle zum Ort diverser Märkte, kulturellen Veranstaltungen und Kommunitätsaktivitäten. Vor dem Gebäude der Markthalle unter
der Glaskonstruktion kann man die Teile der
Mauerung der Kapelle des hl. Jacob aus dem 11.
Jahrhundert sehen.
