husband Robert Tracy established DOT Foods, Inc.
in Mt. Sterling, IL in 1960. Their small establishment, built on a strong ethical foundation and the
belief of serving customers well, has grown to be a
national food redistribution company. Knowing the importance of sharing what they received with others, in 1998 Dorothy and Robert began the Tracy Family Foundation (TFF). Through

The SHG Teacher Grant Fund was developed in
2004 as a way to allow the faculty to write a grant
for programs and projects in the classroom that are
“above and beyond” what teachers can spend within the standard operating budget. We encourage
teachers to “dream big” and this program has really
inspired teachers to get creative in their classrooms.

A Night on the Red Carpet
held at West Campus
Math teacher Doug Martin generously donated his time and talents in creating the entire trivia powerpoint presentation. Questions ranged from identifying city skylines, to name-that-movie
quotes, to SHG history.
he newly formed Alumni Council, led by Alumni
Activities Coordinator Michele Reavy, held “A Night on
the Red Carpet” themed Trivia Night on February 20th.
With the help of over ten sponsors and numerous volunteers, the evening turned out to be a huge success, raising
over $10,000.
Neuhoff Media talents Kevin O’Dea and Steve Bridge served as
the emcees of the evening. Their colorful commentary made the
reading of the questions and answers humorous and exciting.
T
Thirty-nine trivia teams braved the wintry weather to
compete in an eight-round trivia competition. Cash
prizes were awarded to the teams who scored first and
second place, along with door prizes for “Best Dressed
Table”, and various games that were played in between
rounds.
Primo Designs donated a Step-and-Repeat backdrop that
created a great space for photos. Those in attendance
included alumni, parents, faculty, and friends of SHG.

Proceeds from the
trivia night will

Scholarship Fund.
