Early Life
▪ Kobe Bryant was born on August 23rd, 1978
▪ Kobe was born In Philadelphia, PA. The city of brotherly love
▪ Born to Joe “Jellybean” Bryant & Pam Bryant.
More Early Life
▪ In 1984 Kobe and his family moved from Philadelphia to Italy so his
father could continue playing basketball.
▪ In Italy, Kobe played soccer and basketball as a young child.
▪ The Bryant’s finally moved back to the United States in 1991 and
resumed living in Philly.
High School Career
▪ Kobe attended Lower Merion
High School located in uptown
Philly.
▪ Kobe led his high school team
to four straight state
championship games.
▪ Kobe was working out with the
Philadelphia 76ers while
playing high school ball.
Draft Day
Kobe was drafted straight out
of high school to the hornets,
but was traded to the Lakers.
Here he became the youngest
player to start in an All-Star
game and the youngest player
to win the slam dunk contest
Dynamic Duo
Kobe won 3 out his first 5 NBA
championships alongside
Shaq. They were truly one of
the most dynamic duos the
league has ever seen
World Titles
Kobe has won two Olympic
gold medals.
