Detailed description
This is a very rare Revision 5 model GT turbo. If you're well into these you'll know this sort of car
almost never comes up for sale, especially in condition as outstanding as this example!
The MR2 turbo was made from 1989 onwards for the Japanese market only, whilst the rest of the
world had to make do with normally aspirated versions only!
In 1994 Toyota introduced the Revision 3 turbo model in Japan. Fitted with a more powerful
version of their 3S GT-E turbo engine giving 245 bhp as standard, other revisions also brought
uprated suspension for greater grip and safety at high speeds, uprated interior trim, as well as
newer larger sized wheels, plus of course new fresh colours. With these changes the MR2
became a better car - which is still in strong demand by enthusiasts both in Japan and UK, etc.
The Revision 5 GT Turbo model was introduced at the very end of 1998. GT Turbo models have
half leather / Alcantara interior (GT-S models have cloth), electric mirrors with retract mode,
Stainless Steel sill trims and Torsen limited slip differential. Rev 5 models also received a new
uprated 4 channel ABS system as standard, Updated design of Alcantara trim with red stitching for
leather seats, adjustable GT style rear spoiler, Dual SRS Airbags, Updated steering wheel design,
clear front indicators and side repeaters fitted on the side of each front wing. Glass was also
changed to a more modern green tinted type (Rev 3 & prior models had glass in brown-grey
colour). More new colours were introduced too.

To find a Revision 5 in this condition nowadays is usually close to impossible. Most are tired,
neglected and in need of considerable work to make perfect. This example's in mint condition
throughout.
Standard specification includes: Dual SRS airbags, ABS, Climate Control A/C, PAS, P/W, Light
green tint on the windows, electrically retractable remote controlled door mirrors, floor mats. The
spare and original tool kit are complete and unused. Note: This has been a non smoker's car and
interior is in fabulous condition.
Mild Modifications: This MR2 has received some mild upgrades in the form of Enkei NT03 17"
wheels fitted with Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R sports tyres. Please note - if desired, we are able
to supply engine tuning parts, the latest Bride seats, air cleaners, bodykits, etc. for this model.

Interior: There are no faults to report with the interior except for mild wear on the driver's seat and
gear shift gaiter. Standard audio with CD player, etc. is included. Please note that the audio is
untested and therefore comes free of charge with the car.
Auction Grade 4 (Auction sheet is available). This MR2's clearly been outstandingly well
cherished. Looking carefully around the car we noticed only the following tiny faults: There's 2
small pin dents on the offside quarter panel (To be repaired if acessible by a pin dent repair
specialist - as part of full UK preparation package). On the front o/s wing, rear spoiler and C pilars
there are very light (Possibly polishable) scratches on the laquer and there's a chip of paint on the
nearside rear air intake Please see pictures - these faults are hard to spot & really too small to
repair, but are mentioned for the sake of giving a complete report. Test Drive: Signs show of this
MR2 having been regularly serviced. Oil is relatively new - and timing belt was changed 2 years
ago. Cclearly this car wasn't driven hard - judging by the fact the brake discs still look lightly worn
and the car's bodywork in such amazing condition. Note the lack of stone chips also. It would
appear this car was stored indoors, was regularly polished and cared for and probably & spent
most of it's driven life on Motorways cruising at legal speeds in Japan.
We test drove this car and found it to be very healthy, giving good strong power throughout the rev
range. Driving out of our yard, which is quite bumpy, we noted that there were no rattles and

squeaks to be heard. When driving on the open road, the car felt tight and unused. Brakes pulled
the car up well with no signs of warpage, as is often common on older cars. Clutch has plenty of
bite remaining. Felt very smooth. Handles great too!
Spec. like this is very sought after so an example such as this is not expected to depreciate
significantly. Being the most recent shape that's currently importable into the UK - Rev 5 models
are what MR2 enthusiasts would most like. Note also, being a 1998 model, this car qualifies for
the lower priced road tax scheme.
This car is currently held at our export yard in Tokyo and is ready to ship (It can also go to UK or
other countries - ask)!

How the Newera System Works
(1). Starting with your inquiry, we provide a quote or e-mail communication, so that
we are clear on just what you are after. We ask for detailed information from you, so
we can provide an accurate quotation from the beginning. If you are inquiring about a
car from stock, steps (2) and (4) are not required.
(2). When sourcing to order, our quotation is based on your requirements. As long as
your budget is sufficient for the car youre after & the car is likely to be available, we
will be prepared to find the car you order, or better. Remember: even if you budget
too much, it doesnt matter. We operate a system of supplying the best car we can
find, plus a set fee of £900. If we can buy your car for a low price, then you make the
corresponding saving.
(3). When you are ready to proceed, we ask for a deposit (& completed order form, if
applicable). The deposit is usually £1,000. If you want a car worth over £10K OTR,
then the deposit is £1,500. The deposit is fully refundable without question, should
you for any reason need to cancel before a car is bought on your behalf. If you are
reserving a car from stock the deposit is refundable less costs and time incurred
provided you cancel 4 working days before shipment from Japan.
(4). Miguel, our buyer keeps you informed via e-mail periodically whilst searching
for your car. Sometimes it can take weeks, even months to find the right car. In
addition to Miguel attending the major Tokyo auctions daily, we have buyers
searching daily throughout Japan for the car you want. No news simply means we
havent found it yet. We dont buy the first car which comes along. It must meet or
exceed your requirements whilst not costing more than the OTR price we agreed,
though it frequently costs less.
(5). As soon as available, we will e-mail you up to 30 detailed photographs, showing
all aspects of your car. We also include a detailed description. Of course, total OTR
price is known at this stage, so we let you know. Cars are insured from the time
theyre bought, to the time they are completed & collected by you in UK.
(6). Usually, boats are available every 2-3 weeks, from Japan to UK (Southampton).

We arrange for your car to be shipped on the first vessel available. Around the time
the car is shipped, we ask for the second instalment. Typically this is approximately
60% of the cars OTR total cost. Note that the car we supply to you is fully insured at
all times prior to you collecting it.
(7) We arrange booking of the SVA test in advance - shortly after the car departs, so
that the car can be tested as soon as possible upon arrival to UK. We also inform our
UK agent of your full contact details and information on everything which needs doing,
to make sure the car wil be presented in beautiful condition.
(8). Shipping takes 5 weeks. Around 2 weeks before arrival, we ask you for the final
instalment, to cover Import duties, VAT, shipping, UK conversions, testing,
registraton etc.
(9). Before the car arrives, we arrange customs clearance, etc. so the car neednt
spend un-necessary time waiting at the docks upon arrival. It usually takes 3-4 days
for cars to be unloaded and cleared by UK customs.
(10). The car is sent from Southampton to our UK agents premises in Canterbury
aboard a car transporter. Upon arrival there, it is SVA converted, derestricted, SVA
tested & MOTd (If applicable).
All minor cosmetic work required (e.g. bumper scratches) is carried out. The car is
fully valetted just before you collect it.
(11). The car comes with 6 months road tax and is fully registered in your name as
the first UK keeper. If you have a suitable private number plate youd like to go on the
car, we can also arrange this, provided you have a DVLA retention certificate.
