DEACONATE ORDINATION – Bishop Kurt will be with us on Sunday, February 8 for our 11:00 a.m. Divine Liturgy at which he will ordain Subdeacon Lewis Rabayda to the deaconate after which there will be a social reception in our school auditorium. Everyone is welcome. We would be grateful to have a few cakes and cookies to offer at the dessert tables. Please be considerate and leave parking close to the church for all our outof-town guests and our new deacon’s family. Adult Envelopes used last weekend: 120 Children’s 14 INCOME: $3,184.83 EXPENSES: $725.70. 2015 ENVELOPES AND CALENDARS are on the ledge in the vestibule. Have you picked yours up yet? After today, envelope sets not picked up can be picked up at the church office. THANK YOU to our St. Mary’s Guild for their $500.00 donation to assist with the repairs / upgrading of our church bells; $200.00 in memory of the late Lovey Lubniewski by Mary Ellen Frame. ST. MARY’S GUILD will meet again on February 1st at 2:00 p.m. New members always welcome! 2014 CONTRIBUTION STATEMENT NEEDED? Please call the rectory office at 570 489 2353. STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN – Please do your best to contribute to this important eparchial Appeal. Although donations had to be in by December 31st, we will still accept additional contributions as they come in. Kindly keep in mind how very generous and supportive Bishop William and now Bishop Kurt have been helping us with our expenses. Even though our goal has now been raised to $13,000.00, with your prayerful and generous support, we can reach and even oversubscribe this. If you have not yet received your material in the mail, please let me know as soon as possible. At this Campaign, if we do reach our goal, we will have a 40% rebate on the entire goal’s amount which comes to $5,200.00 (out of $13,000.00). To date (Jan. 12), we have received $4,330.00 from 57 donors leaving an outstanding balance of $8,670.00 to goal! Others? REMEMBER HIS WILL IN YOURS – You can express your commitment to our Parish by making a bequest to HOLY GHOST CHURCH. Simply have the following statement included in your will: “I LEAVE TO HOLY GHOST PARISH, JESSUP, PA, THE SUM OF $________.___ (or _______% of the residue of my estate) for its religious, educational and charitable works.” May God abundantly bless you for considering to do this for us! VOLUNTEERS (Male and/or Female) NEEDED for cleaning up after BINGO on Friday evenings. This involves just about 15 or 20 minutes of light work clearing tables of paper and other trash from the games around 10:20 p.m. Please let me know if you can help on a regular basis. So far, only one individual has kindly stepped up. Others? SNOW REMOVAL VOLUNTEERS – please come to help with shoveling snow especially when we have a funeral and over weekends to keep our church steps and walk areas open and clean for pedestrians. A KIND REQUEST – although we certainly welcome visits to the parish office, it is a courteous gesture to call ahead (489 2353) to be sure someone is in the office to receive you and that you will not be interrupting anyone else who may be there at the same time.
