WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is suitable for practitioners responsible for the management of inventory,
including: Supply Chain Managers and Planners, Logistics Managers, Inventory
Managers, Inventory Planners, Schedulers, Operations and Manufacturing Managers.
Although the program covers some basic inventory principles, it does also deal with
more advanced inventory management techniques and approaches. It is ideal for
participants who have some real-world experience or exposure to inventory
management or have undertaken some basic inventory training.

This course is delivered in a workshop style format and participants will have an
opportunity to interact and benefit from the collective wisdom of the group. A number
of case studies and worked examples are included to ensure a real understanding of
the principles and techniques covered in the program

The course is based on the internationally recognised APICS Body of Knowledge. The
content is drawn from the APICS Principles of Operations Management program and
students receive a comprehensive workbook covering these units.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR: DAVID WILLIAMS
B.Comm(Mgt), Dip BOM, Cert IV TAE, CPIM, CSCP, CS&OP, C.P.M.
Managing supply chain, inventory, purchasing and procurement, David Williams has
enjoyed an extensive career in the Manufacturing, Retail and Service industries,
starting his career with an automobile manufacturer as a Cycle Counter before moving
onto Materials Controller. Over the next 30+ years in a Distribution Centre, and in
Supply Management roles, he has lead teams in the implementations of Best Practice
manufacturing and distribution inventory and production planning systems. The results
have strongly contributed to not only improving the financial health, operational
efficiency, and customer service of organisations he worked with, he has also played a
crucial role in saving a company forced into receivership through severe cash flow
problems caused in large part by excessive slow-moving inventory holdings.

David currently serves on the Queensland Chapter committee of apicsAU,
and has been lecturing CPIM (Certified in Production & Inventory
Management) and Cert IV in Purchasing and Contract Management
courses for over eight years.
