CONCRETE DAY

WHEREAS, the Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association was founded in 1956; and
WHEREAS, it is aligned with the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, the
Portland Cement Association- Rocky Mountain Region, the American Concrete Paving
Association – Colorado/Wyoming Chapter, and the American Concrete Pipe Association;
and
WHEREAS, the Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association educates the construction
community about environmentally friendly concrete products and practices, including
ways that building with concrete can help a project achieve LEED certification, reduce
the urban heat island effect, and recycle materials that would otherwise have to be placed
in a landfill; and
WHEREAS, the State of Colorado recognizes the ready mixed concrete industry as
important to furthering development in our state and appreciates the hard work,
dedication, and the efficiency of its employees;
Therefore, I, John W. Hickenlooper, Governor of the entire State of Colorado, do hereby
proclaim, forever after, April 24, 2015, as
CONCRETE DAY
in the State of Colorado.
