Do you MUNDO?
MUNDO (pronounced MOON-DOUGH) is an Ohio State University Academic initiative and student organization
designed to help any interested OSU student learn more about how to integrate service, learning, and leadership
into their college experience as a way to enhance local, national and international communities.
Mission
MUNDO at The Ohio State University is committed to facilitating conversations, and promoting actions that result
in community-based service, experiential learning, and engaged leadership.

The vision of the Multicultural Understanding through Non-Traditional Discovery Opportunities Organization is to

The MUNDO Executive Planning Team (ODNUM) and General Body Member
Student Leadership Positions Descriptions
MUNDO Student Coordinators
Description:
 Student Coordinators are experienced MUNDO student participants who serve as student advisors to
MUNDO including working as “guides” to the ACTION TEAM leader in terms of supporting them in their
programmatic efforts as needed. Student Coordinators also work with the MUNDO Coordinator and
MUNDO Faculty Friend on key organizational initiatives such as the recruitment of new faculty and staff to
work with the organization, fundraising, marketing, and long-range organizational planning. Up to two
student coordinators may be elected in one academic year.
o MUNDO Student Coordinators will:
 Serve as the student leaders/advisors to MUNDO ACTION TEAMS
 Set up and lead weekly Mondays with MUNDO meetings during the academic year
 Serve as student spokespersons for the MUNDO organization
Requirements:
 A MUNDO Student Coordinator must:
o Be a full-time Ohio State student in good academic standing (above a 2.0 g.p.a.) during the
academic year they will serve in the role.
o Have lived in a residence hall or group living environment for at least one year.
o Be selected by the MUNDO Coordinator and Emeritus Student Coordinators and MUNDO
General Body in consultation with the MUNDO Faculty Friend and DSO Academic Partner
o Attend the MUNDO Exec. Retreat on April 25, 2015 from 11 AM to 4 PM and the Big Six Retreat
scheduled for May 6-8, 2015
ACTION TEAM Leaders
Description:
 ACTION TEAM leaders are MUNDO participants who lead ACTION TEAM planning groups by either
coordinating a project from the inception until its completion, or by helping organize the daily operations of
the MUNDO organization. MUNDO ACTION TEAMS coordinate memorable experiences that combine
intentionally designed “hands on experiences” with what they learn about in traditional classroom
experiences.
o MUNDO ACTION TEAM leaders will be responsible for:
 Coordinating nontraditional discovery opportunities (NDOs) on campus, in the city of
Columbus, and globally in terms of logistics, planning and design
 Arranging agendas for weekly or bi-monthly meetings during General Body meetings to plan
for upcoming NDO experiences
 Attending weekly ODNUM ACTION TEAM Leader and Student Coordinator Briefings
Requirements:
 An ACTION TEAM leader must:
o Be a full-time Ohio State student in good academic standing (above a 2.0 g.p.a.) during the
academic year they will serve in the role.
o Have lived in a residence hall or group living environment for at least one year.

ACTION TEAM Members

STAFF ASSISTANT
Description:
 The MUNDO Staff Assistant is a paid staff role responsible for assisting with MUNDO communication,
marketing, promotion and other administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
 The MUNDO staff assistant must:
o Be a full-time Ohio State student in good academic standing (above a 2.0 g.p.a.) during the
academic year they will serve in the role.
o Be successfully hired as an Office Assistant for the OSU Office of Residence Life
o Be available to work 8 hours per week
