The Swiftwater Rescue Technician Unit 1 (SRT1) course is Rescue 3’s flagship
swiftwater rescue course designed to train highly capable and competent flood and

Instructors, this course is approximately 80% practical and 20% theory. The course
includes the Rescue 3 International Swiftwater Rescue Technician Manual. Students
also receive a Rescue 3 course certificate, Rescue 3 skill sheet (training record) and
Rescue 3 International Swiftwater Rescue Technician sticker or patch.
Prerequisites: Students should be competent in rescue knots, have a good level of
physical fitness and be able to swim 200m competently.
