The Shepherd calls His sheep: Experience the Great Mercy of God
Attend St. Anthony of Padua Parish Mission with Fr. Lucien Larre February 13 to 18
St. Anthony of Padua Parish Mission with Father Lucien Larre, February 13 to 18, will offer
parishioners, family members and friends many opportunities to experience the Great Mercy of
God in this Extraordinary Jubilee Year.
Father Larre will introduce the Mission at all Masses Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 13 and 14, and
be available for individual confessions Monday to Thursday, February 15 to 18 (see full schedule
on page three inside the bulletin.)
On the final day of the Mission, Thursday, February 18, there will be Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament from 10am to 6pm. Please make every effort to attend the Parish Mission and to
invite family members, neighbours, co-workers and friends.
With trust in God, Fr. Larre overcame his own
difficulties before going on to help others.
Father Larre was born in Saskatchewan, the youngest of 13 children. At age five he was paralyzed
by polio and doctors said he would
never walk again. But with many
prayers by family and friends, and
with much determination, he
walked in two years!
Later he lived and worked with
over 400 troubled adolescents over
a 20 year period. Father Larre re-
TRUST IN GOD’S MERCY
 Remember there is great
rejoicing in Heaven when a
lost sheep returns to our
merciful Good Shepherd.
 There is no sin too great,
too shameful, or too horrible that it cannot be erased
by the infinite mercy of our
Loving God.
 Invite others to come to the
mission with you. Bring children and friends. Invite a
stranger. All are welcome!
ceived the Golden Jubilee Medal
from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth
II in recognition of his work with
children, the Good Servant Award
from the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews for improving the
quality of life for people in the greatest need, the William Kurelek
Award from the National Pro-Life
Association for having distinguished himself in providing a better life for needy and abandoned
children, and in 1983, the Order of
Canada, the highest honor awarded
to Canadians, in recognition of his
outstanding and highly distinguished contributions to his country.
However Father Larre was the
first to return his Order of Canada
in July, 2008, as a protest to the selection committee because this
prestigious award was given to the
abortionist Dr. Morgenthaler.
In 2012 Father Larre received
the Diamond Jubilee Medal from
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
Father Larre holds three degrees:
Master of Arts and Master of Education and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
Currently, he lives in Coquitlam,
BC, and helps the Sisters of Mary
with 12,000 orphans and extremely
poor children in the Philippines and
Korea. He also assists the Sisters of
St. Paul of Chartres at their hospital
for the very poor in Cavite, Philippines.
Recognized as one of Canada's
most popular speakers, Fr. Larre
preaches parish missions across Canada and does fund raising to help the
poor who have brain dysfunction
from malnutrition and other causes.

Prayers for the Sick
At Holy Mass we remember the sick of our parish including
Ronald Burke, Allison McCuaig, Thomas Viccars, Molly LouiYing, Nung Chum, Isobel Clancy, Nick and Johanna De Vos,
Gladys Fessenden, Agnes Kung, Joanne MacEachern, Barney
Rousseau and Theresa Yoshioka.
Stewardship Message
“I have now brought you the first fruits of the products of the soil which you, O
Lord, have given to me.” (Deuteronomy 26:10)
This line from the Old Testament offers two challenges. First, do
you give to God from your “first fruits”, the best that you have to
offer, or do you give from what is leftover? Second, do you
remember that everything you have has been given to you by God?
Ask God for a grateful and generous heart, every day.
Stewardship Office, The Archdiocese of St. Louis
Year of Mercy Reflection
“We need constantly to contemplate the mystery of mercy. It is a
wellspring of joy, serenity, and peace. Our salvation depends on it.
Mercy: the word reveals the very mystery of the Most Holy
Trinity.”
Pope Francis
Parish Registration
