Being Single A Global Trend
Being Single
A Global Trend
A growing and increasingly more important target group in the world.
• Approximately 50% of the population in the Western world today is single.
• The global marrying age has gone from 23 in 1960 to 29.3 in 2010.
• More people get divorced today and experience one or more periods as singles during their adult life.
• More people choose to live a single life today and the single lifestyle is increasingly more accepted globally.
• The interest in books, TV-programs and films about single people and their lifestyles has increased enormously
during the last ten years with popular shows such as ”Sex and the City”, which portrays the single life as empowered
and glamorous.
• A booming dating market throughout the world shows that there is a large population of single people out there
looking to connect.
Idea
SingleRing is based on the idea that many singles – just like most married people – want to show their “partner status” through a finger ring. Of course, to singles it has an added
purpose: to signal to other singles that they are just that. Complete and proud for being single, while also open for new acquaintances and relations.
While internet dating has become a popular activity, there is no doubt that casual socialising with other people in a natural setting such as bar, at the grocery store or on a beach
is still the most organic way of making new acquaintances. Here, SingleRing serves as an ice breaker and does the talking for you.
Brand
The SingleRing concept was first developed in Scandinavia.
Since the launch in 2005, over 200,000 singles in 20 countries in the world have purchased the SingleRing.
Over the last few years, SingleRing has received massive press coverage in large daily papers, high-end fashion magazines, celebrity press, radio shows, TV shows and on the
Internet.
Celebrities all over the world celebrate the SingleRing concept and many of them wear the ring or buy it as a gift for single friends, relatives or colleagues.
