Dear Parents and Community Members,
With holidays beginning on Friday afternoon, I would like to repeat my message
from assembly last week. School holidays bring out of town visitors into Broken
Hill who may not be aware of where our children congregate. They are not always
on the look-out for children on bikes or skateboards and may not know where
children are likely to cross roads to get to the shops or park. Please remind your
children about being safe on and near the roads, following the road rules, wearing
helmets etc.
Mothers’ Day
Woolies Earn & Learn
Community News
It is also timely to remind all children about ‘Stranger Danger” and making sure
that they let parents know where they are going, who with and for how long. We’ve
had a couple of children who didn’t walk straight home after school this term, and it
triggers a major panic in parents and staff until we know they are safe.
Term 2, for students, begins on Wednesday 1st May. Staff will be returning two
days before that for professional learning workshops.
Please take the opportunity during the holiday to make sure that hats, drink
bottles, jumpers, jackets, school bags etc are all clearly labelled with your child’s
name.
Yay!!!
Last day of Term 1
this Friday!
All students return
to school on
Wednesday
1st May!
ANZAC Day falls in the holidays and Alma students are invited to attend the town
ceremony. Mr Bonsing is the organiser this year and will be supervising students
who march.
Our school ANZAC ceremony will be held on Wednesday 1st May (first day of
term) beginning at 10.30 am. Everyone is invited to attend.
I would like to wish you all a safe and enjoyable holiday break.
Regards
Glynis Lugnan
