Fine-arts
photographer
Israel Valencia is interested in producing striking
and iconic images of
natural objects. Taken
from a series of trips to
Mexico between 2002 and
2010, this exhibit explores
the shapes and geometry
of the Mexican landscape.
Today, Valencia balances
his love of event photography with more personal work. His company,
Infinity Visuals, is located in Napa.

classic movie. Synopsis: After a
team of scientists (Harold Ramis,
Dan Aykroyd, and Bill Murray) lose
their cushy positions at a university in New York
City, they decide to become “Ghostbusters” to
wage a high-tech battle with the supernatural
for money. They stumble upon a gateway to
another dimension that will release evil upon
the city, and now the Ghostbusters must save
New York from complete destruction! 1984;
rated PG; 105 minutes.

Valverde Dance Company
40 Years an Innkeeper: History, Stories,
and Recipes from Napa Valley’s Famed
Wine Country Inn
Luis Valverde began his career in 1991. He
choreographs for the Peruvian Dance Company
and the Andean Project and collaborates with
Afro-Peruvian Master Lalo Izquierdo and the
group Sukay. Valverde Dance Company’s work is
dedicated to traditional music and dance from
South America, especially the Andes of Peru,
Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, and Chile.

recently released book 40
Years an Innkeeper. Travel
with Jim and his family
through the last 40 years
of conceiving, building, and
running the Wine Country
Inn, the first B&B in the

amazed by compelling and crazy stories by a
pioneer in our local hospitality industry.

Luis Valverde comenzo su carrera
en Lima, Peru en el 1991. Su trabajo trae una variedad de danzas
de los Andes y Afro-Peruanas a
audiencias en los Estados Unidos.
El prepara fabulosas coreografias
para varias companias de baile
incluyendo The Peruvian Dance
Company, The Andean Project y hace collaboraciones con el
Maestro de danza Afro-Peruana Lalo Izquierdo y su grupo Sukay.
Su trabajo esta dedicado a la tradicion del baile y musica de Sur

CENTERS AND THE NAPA COUNTY LIBRARIES
Storyteller Olga Loya will be featured at the
UpValley Family Centers’ Día de los Muertos
event. She will share the history behind the
Day of the Dead and offer the audience a
chance to look at life and death in a more
personal way.
Olga Loya is a national storyteller, performance artist, writer, and teacher. She is a
recent recipient of the National Network of Storytellers 2013
Oracle Award in The Circle of Excellence.
LIBRARY NEWS
Beginning in October, the library will now be open
on Thursdays from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. As a
result, our Thursday evening programs will return
to their 7:00 pm start time! All other library hours
will remain the same.
Youth Programs
Kids Matinees: Wednesdays, 3:00 pm
Kids Matinees are appropriate for all ages and are shown in the
Meeting Room, be sure to come by and watch new releases and old
classics. Enjoy these Halloween-inspired films and new releases!
STORYTIMES
Activities for children are held in
the Children’s Room.
Tuesdays & Wednesdays,
10:30 am: STORYTIME
Children of all ages are invited
to a weekly treat: listening to
storybooks read aloud.

a “bio-exorcist” in order to
remove the obnoxious new
owners of their house.
Children are invited to come to
the library on Thursday evenings to listen to stories or do
fun crafts—in both English and
Spanish. All ages are welcome.
