FamilyLink Teacher Gradebook Settings
Teachers establish settings for their Gradebook display on FamilyLink. Within Gradebook, teachers
may also use the Hide from FamilyLink checkbox to exclude an entire class/section Gradebook
(Configuration view) or individual assignments (Assignments view) from display on FamilyLink.

Log in to Gradebook.
On the menu click Web, FamilyLink, Settings.

Establish the Page 1 settings.

Data Items to Display

Indicate the level of detail to include: Assignment and Group Details,
Assignment Details, or Group Details
Detail Options

Skip Assignments
With No Group

Select the Detail Options: show Overall Score, Alpha Mark, Weight,
Mark Notes, Comments, Narrative Marks, Total Points (Group Detail
Only),and/or Assignment Notes
Check to exclude assignments with no group
Date Range

Indicate the date range of assignments to include
General Message

Auto-save

Click to enter a message that appears at the bottom of the Progress
report the same message displays for all Gradebooks.
Check this box if you want the options to set to remain in place the next
time the report is run. Th current settings are saved, but any changes
made at the next running overwrite this setup.

4. If desired, click the Page 2 tab to establish the settings for the Missing Assignments report on
FamilyLink.

Blank mark cells will be reported as missing marks. If other entries are
used to indicate missing assignments, enter here; all assignments with
that mark are also reported as missing (e.g., mark table includes
MA-Missing Assignment, enter MA here). If multiple codes are used,
enter with a comma between each.
Enter the number of days before or after the assignment date before
marks are considered missing. Allows a grace period for both teacher
mark entry and student assignment completion.
If desired, select to Show Group/Category, Show Mark Notes, Show
Assignment Notes.
5. Click Save or if Autosave is checked, click Close when the settings are complete.
6. A Gradebook’s Configuration view, Use Missing Marks checkbox must be checked to show
missing assignments in the report.

Calendar
In the School area, click to view the school Calendar; it displays all days in the District/Administrator
master calendar, and all events in the event file. Click a day to see event/day information, then click the
Close button (or use the browser Return arrow, or press the Escape key) to return to the full calendar.
The current day is highlighted in yellow, nonschool days are light gray, and calendar days not in the
school calendar are yellow
Academic Plan - Only appears if there is a plan entered in SMaster for the student
In the Student area, click Academic Plan to display secondary students' progress toward
graduation if a plan has been recorded. Displays student plan information, along with goal and
notes, and a plan legend. If no plan records exist, a Plan Note will display, if available.
Assessments In the Student area, click Assessments to view the student assessment
scores grouped by grade level, then by date. Use the links at the top to jump to any available grade
level. The assessments provided are limited to those indicated in the FamilyLink District/Admin
Settings dialog.
Attendance In the Student area, click Attendance to view the student's attendance records in the
Calendar View; the current day is highlighted in yellow, nonschool days are light gray, and calendar
days not in the school calendar are yellow green. Click a day to see attendance Period/Code
information; then click the Close button (or use the browser Return arrow, or press the Escape key) to
return to the attendance calendar.
Click Detail View at the top right to see the students attendance detail summary for the current date
a summary by Term. Click Calendar View to return to the previous view or select another student
view.
Contact Information - the person logged in can view only their own information
In the Student area, click Contact Information to view the student's contacts. The contacts provided
are limited to those relationships and contact priorities indicated in the FamilyLink District/Admin
Settings dialog. Only adults logged in see contact details; only students logged in see the locker
combination.
Current Progress In the Student area, click Current Progress to view the student's current
elementary or secondary schedule. The FamilyLink District/Admin Settings AND FamilyLink Teacher
Gradebook Settings dialogs control if Gradebook/Progress reports from Gradebooks and/or the
Teacher Marks File display, teacher email and web page visibility, and the secondary sections that
display are set by the schedule terms specified. Schedule records are not displayed if they are not set
to Print on Report Card or if the student has an Exit Date (no longer currently enrolled in the
section/class).
The Gradebook report links may not display if they teacher has not completed FamilyLink Teacher
Gradebook Settings for their Gradebooks. An individual class/section may not have a Gradebook
report link if the teacher has marked the class/section Gradebook Configuration view to Hide from
FamilyLink. An individual assignment (Assignments view) may not display if it is marked to Hide from
FamilyLink.
The secondary mark Progress column may not display if the FamilyLink District/Admin Settings does
not specify a mark position for Progress Mark; all secondary marks entered in the Teacher Mark File
display for the specified grading period.
In the Current Progress page Gradebook column, you may click report to view details about the
student's assignment marks from the teacher's Gradebook. If there is more than one
Gradebook pointing to the same class/section, then a drop down list appears at top (e.g., teacher may
have created subjectbysubject or termby term gradebooks). The level of detail provided is dictated by
each teacher's FamilyLink Teacher Gradebook Settings.
Calculated marks are not updated while the page is displayed in FamilyLink and some assignments
might be marked Hide from FamilyLink, so calculations may appear incorrect. Therefore, the red
disclaimer is meant to indicate that marks may not be final and questions should be addressed to the
teacher.
NEW Requires FamilyLink Ver. 2.15.0101 AND Schoolmaster Ver. 1.86a (or later) If activated in the
teacher's FamilyLink Settings, Gradebook Configuration view Use Missing Marks is checked, and the
student has missing assignments, a Missing Marks report may be available.
The Missing Marks report lists assignments that have not been submitted in any of the
student's classes/sections that have been configured to report missing marks.
Fees and Payments In the Student area, click Fees and Payments to view the student's
fees/fines and payments.
GPA History In the Student area, click GPA History to view the secondary student's GPA History and
Class Rank. The computations to be displayed are set in the FamilyLink District/Admin Settings dialog.
Report Card In the Student area, click Report Card to view the student's latest report card for
elementary, secondary, and standards from the office marks file. The student's current school, section
school, or Secondary Grading Preferences determine the grading period for the report card which
dictate the mark positions to display. The teacher's email links display if set by the FamilyLink
District/Admin Settings dialog. Schedule records must have a check for Print on Report Card to be
included. Elementary and Standards grades that are marked to post to transcript are bolded.
Transcript In the Student area, click Transcript to view the student's transcript. Display is limited to
those on the FamilyLink School Settings dialog. Only those records marked to Print on Transcript in the
student's Mark History are included. Records are arranged by year; if the student has multiple years, a
drop down list appears at the top for quicker navigation.
Vaccination In the Student area, click Vaccination to view the student's immunization records. Only
Health records with Type Vaccination are displayed.
