The Abenaki Museum, Quebec’s first Native museum,
has been explaining the different dimensions of
Abenaki history and culture for nearly 50 years
now. Located in a former school, in the heart of
the community, it boasts an extensive ethnological
collection. A Catholic church nearby has a magnificent
carved frieze that never fails to impress visitors.
In the adjacent park, overlooking the Saint-François
River, are traditional homes and sculptures in a
relaxing atmosphere. Take the time to attend craft
demonstrations, and learn about the rich traditions of
one of the 11 First Nations of Quebec.

Interpretation site - Natural and Environmental Science - Live Collections
The « Centre de la Biodiversité du Québec »,
an educational tourist center, is offering scheduled
discussions at the touch pool, with the reptiles and
the otters and guided tours of its magnificent forest.
Aboard the "Biotrain" or by foot, the forest reveals its
natural resources. Meet the Mini-Farm’s new arrivals!

Galerie d'art Desjardins du Centre culturel de Drummondville
Exhibition centre - Art - Contemporary Art
The Union-Vie art gallery in Drummondville is a
regional art gallery, the only one of its kind within 50
km, and enjoys an excellent location at the intersection
of several major highways. It hosts a broad range of
exhibitions, primarily in the areas of traditional and
contemporary art. Educational and visitor activities
complement the current exhibitions. Next to the gallery
is an outdoor garden featuring large sculptures. The
gallery and garden are on the local bicycle path, and
guided tours are available.

Laurier Museum
Museum - Art / History and society - Fine Arts and Decorative Arts / Contemporary Art
This museum devoted to Sir Wilfrid Laurier is
overflowing with history. It welcomes visitors into three
heritage buildings and takes them back in time. The
Sir Wilfrid Laurier National Historic Site of Canada
gives them a glimpse of the life of the illustrious
Prime Minister and teaches them more about our
country’s political history. Dating from 1876, this
heritage jewel comprises the spacious apartments
where the Lauriers lived. Nearby, the Pavillon Hôtel
des postes (1910) is dedicated to the world of art
and presents superb exhibitions. The fully restored
19th-century Fleury house presents exhibitions and
workshops geared to young people year round. You’ll
find charm, elegance and refinement at the Musée
Laurier!

century is the birthplace of painter and printmaker
Rodolphe Duguay. In addition to featuring the work of

The Michel flour mill, built at the Gentilly seigniorial
estate in about 1774, is a French-style fieldstone
structure, fully restored in 1989. It works by means of
a water-driven turbine that is still in operation today.
The permanent exhibition will introduce you to the last
miller who lived here, Alfred Michel. On the terrace,
you can savour freshly milled and baked buckwheat
cakes and microbrewery beer, every Saturday and
Sunday in good weather. The mill, in its peaceful
countryside setting halfway between Montreal and
Quebec City, is a perfect place for a stop. You’ll enjoy
the nature trail, interpretation areas, the pond and a
panoramic view of the St. Lawrence.

Religion has played an enormous role in the history
of Quebec society. This museum, the only one of
its kind in North America, offers a new viewpoint by
examining the religions that have shaped Quebec,
their similarities and differences. The museum also
presents temporary exhibitions on different themes,
to encourage greater mutual understanding. It plays
a key part in conserving our religious heritage,
recognized as a cultural priority by the Quebec
government.

Musée du bronze d'Inverness
Interpretation site - Art / History and society
The bronze museum is a vibrant site where today’s
artists can display their work. The museum takes
a unique approach to displaying its collections, as
visitors don gloves and are allowed to handle the
pieces all they like. It’s a tactile introduction to the
world of bronze sculpture.
A demonstration of bronze casting is also offered,
weather permitting. Works from the museum’s own
collection, produced at the museum or in local
foundries, are displayed permanently. Other works,
on consignment, can also be admired in temporary
exhibitions. In the lobby, visitors see an evocation of
the past and present of bronze sculpture, through a
tribute to the best-known local sculptors: pieces by
Alfred Laliberté, graciously loaned by the Musée du
Québec, are some of the museum’s prized exhibits.
The gift shop carries a selection of items and
quality reproductions so that you can take home an
unforgettable souvenir of your visit!

Musée Populaire de la Photographie
Museum - Art / History and society - Contemporary Art
This is the first popular museum of photography
in Quebec, focusing on the technical and aesthetic
history of photography. Visitors can admire replicas
of the world’s first cameras, and a large collection
of cameras right up to the present day, as well as
many original photos and a series of artifacts directly
linked to the vast world of photography. The museum
is easily accessible, in the historic district of downtown
Drummondville. There’s something for everyone!
