RETIREMENT FUND FOR ARCHDIOCESAN PRIESTS
Today we ask that you remember in a special way our
Church elders. Our priests and our pastors who have retired
from full-time ministry. Those who faithfully served our
faith communities as ‘shepherds’ of local churches. We
recognize the differences between hired men and a
shepherd. The good shepherd devotes his life to the flock.
These faithful servants did not devote themselves to a job,
but rather as a priest, to their deepest sacred identity. They
did so with minimal compensation, and little or no pension.
Now, in their elderly years,
they have little to fall back on.
The majority of retired priests,
our former shepherds, remain
active in ministry – celebrating
Mass for special occasions, as
well as in situations where
parishes are short of help. Your
gift to the Priest Retirement
Fund helps provide a monthly
stipend to retired priests of the
Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
For most priests, this assistance
is their only means of support.
CURSILLO CORNER
Cursillo in Christianity,
an encounter with Christ.
The Cursillo focuses on showing
Christian lay people how to become
effective Christian leaders.

office, or on the night of the class. Parents and Godparents must attend the pre-Baptism
