NEW! Stampin’ Up

fun! Karen Schmidt, an independent demonstrator for 18 years,
Adventure Club • June 2016
will teach us how to make those beautiful hand-crafted greeting
cards we all love to receive. Karen will do one session in the
morning from 9:00 until 11:00 am and an afternoon session
from 1:00 until 3:00 pm. (Make your reservations early so you
get the session that best fits your schedule.) Cost is $12 for
Adventure Club members and $15 for non-members, due at
time of sign up. Each person will go home with three cards! We
need at least 6 people at each session and can have a maximum
of 12.
Captain’s Choice Alaska Cruise
Saturday, August 6 – Monday, August 15
We are looking forward to boarding the quaint Island Spirit to
begin our cruising adventure in Sitka and end in Juneau. Along
the way we will enjoy humpback whales, bears, sea otters and
other marine mammals while cruising the Peril Strait. A real treat
will be an evening anchored in Fjords Terror, known to be the
most scenic area in the Tongass National Forest. Maybe we will
take a little evening adventure in the kayaks! Other stops along the
way include Tenekee Springs, Petersburg, Majestic Fjords Terror,
Dawes Glacier and Juneau.
If you have enjoyed Alaska on a traditional large cruise ship, you
will enjoy seeing it up close and personal aboard a small ship
that holds only 32 passengers and crew. We have the luxury of
stopping and watching the wildlife at our whim as long as we
want.
Cost is $5,800 per person and is due in full at time of
registration. If you have questions about this trip, please stop by
and speak with Deb. She can share pictures with you and explain
the beauty and wonder of this unique experience.
NEW! Garden Tour with Del’s Garden Center
Thursday, August 25
If you love plants and flowers or even if you just love to enjoy the
outdoors, you won’t want to miss the popular annual garden tour.
Join Todd and the crew for a fun day of exploring great gardens
in the area. We are still working on some final details, but wanted
to share the date. Watch your July/August Adventure Club
newsletter for more details and listen to the Grapevine with Del
and Todd every Saturday morning on KICD for details as they
are finalized. Remember, this trip is open to anyone who enjoys
gardening so it usually fills up quickly. If you’re a gardener, sign up
today!
California Coast – San Francisco to Santa Barbara
Saturday, September 24 – Saturday, October 1
If the California Coast is on your bucket list, you won’t want to
miss out on this adventure. The itinerary includes three nights at
Fisherman’s Wharf and time exploring the City by the Bay. We
also include some free time so you might enjoy a tour to Alcatraz
Island or a cable car ride.
Travel through beautiful Napa Valley Wine Country where we’ll
tour an 1885 winery and enjoy a picnic lunch. We continue
traveling south to Monterey, visit Cannery Row and then the
gorgeous Seventeen Mile Drive. Spend the afternoon traveling
through amazing scenery to San Luis Obispo, where we’ll check
in for a two-night stay at Apple Farm Inn. A trip to California
would not be complete without a tour of Hearst Castle and a stop
by famous Morro Rock, the great conical rock that juts 578 feet
out of the Pacific Ocean. Other highlights of the tour will be the
charming town of Solvang, beautiful Santa Barbara and a tour of
the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum.
Cost is $2,995 per person based on double occupancy with a
deposit of $100 per person due at time of reservation. The final
payment is due by June 17.
Rise Up, O Men
Thursday, October 13
You know the ladies…now meet the men! This new Church
Basement Ladies series features the men we have heard about
but have never seen. As these hard-working farmers discuss
their scrap lumber piles and the benefits of solder vs weld, they
unintentionally disrupt the order of the kitchen. But that’s what
happens when you let roosters in the hen house. Travel with us to
the Plymouth Playhouse in Plymouth, Minnesota for this fun-filled,
one-day trip.
Cost is $90 per person with a deposit of $20 due at time of
reservation. Cost includes motor coach transportation, morning
snack, noon meal, show ticket, driver tip and Farmers Bank
escort. Deadline is September 26. This trip is currently full, but
we always like names on the waiting list in case of last minute
cancellations.
Branson Show Stopper
Monday, November 14 – Friday, November 18
Teresa Hansen, of Custom Tours by Teresa will be our host, and we
will be joining Central Bank to share in this Northwest Iowa Bank
Club trip to Branson, Missouri. Guests will enjoy the show Moses
at the Sight and South Theatre, the show AYO featuring Voices
of Glory, SIX, an incredible show starring six brothers and a
musical tribute to John Denver.
Cost is $899 per person based on double occupancy. A deposit
of $150 per person is due at time of sign-up. Deadline is
September 29.
