The Agriturismo "Al Refolo" owes its amiable
atmosphere to a careful restructuring of a former commercial farm. Our guests are accommodated in ten rooms, all equipped with every comfort available. The Inn's name derives
from a gentle breeze, typically blowing
throughout the hot summer months. Visitors
will find at their disposition: the extensive garden, with swimming pool and hydro massage,
a solarium, a comfortable and well-equipped

fect place for reading or relaxing. The family
owned structure houses two spacious dining
rooms. Every morning a varied breakfast buffet is offered. In the evening a wide range of
vegetarian dishes with the typical regional flavor but also supra-regional cuisine is served.
Our chef supports the "km zero" philosophy,
and is using predominantly locally grown products. But he also enjoys adding a modern
touch to the plates.
A FARMLIFE
Our Agriturismo is at the heart of an agricultural estate of 32 hectares that mainly produces legumes, cereals, fruit and vegetables.
But there is a number of young olive trees as well. The olive harvesting is still done by hand and with utmost care in the months of
October and November. The cold pressing process ensures the
production of an excellent extra virgin olive oil. Our grape varieties
include Aglianico, Montepulciano, Primitivo, Greco di Tufo and Malvasia and provide the basis, not only for hight quality wines, but
also for the preparation of grape juice and fine grape marmalade.

Al Refolo we are passionate about everything to
do with food from the growing and harvesting, to
the preparation, serving, and eating. Our menus
change often because they start with what’s in
season and arriving on our doorstep from local
farmers.
Our menu are focused on reinterpreting tradition.
Regional Apulian food comes in vegan and vegetarian form.

Many popular destinations of particular historical, cultural and architectural significance are easy to reach:
Castel del Monte: castle built to a design by Emperor Frederick II, since 1936 on the list of the Italian National Monument and World Heritage Site since 1996
Gravina in Puglia: city of Emperor Frederick II; medieval town center
with numerous underground rock churches ; seat of the traditional
exhibition of "San Giorgio" (annually in April since 1294) and one of
the most important medieval festivals in southern Italy, with more than
one thousand performers
Trani and Barletta: important for the artistic beauty and the architectural features of their historic city centers, rich in historical evidence
Bari: resting place of the relics of Saint Nicholas, in the homonymous
basilica from the 12th Century, located in the beautiful Old Town
Altamura: known throughout Italy, but also abroad, for its centuriesold baking tradition and the typical bread ("Protected designation of
origin" of the EU), the cathedral in Romanesque-Apulian and Gothic
style (13th century); important archaeological findings: the Altamura
Man and the dinosaur tracks
Matera: famous for the "Sassi", one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993

accepts advance bookings for excursions with the shuttle bus and in
the company of a knowledgeable and bilingual tour guide.

Travelling by Train
Reliable rail links are guaranteed by the private railway company FAL (Ferrovie Appulo-Lucane). They connect Gravina in Puglia
with the provincial capitals Bari and Potenza. Gravina in Puglia is also easy to reach using the trains of the State Railways (Ferrovie dello Stato) operating on the route Gioia del Colle-Rocchetta S. Antonio.
Shuttle Bus Service
For groups consisting of at least 20 people, we accept advance bookings and do offer a shuttle service. The bus will pick up our
guests directly from their point of arrival (airport, train station, etc.) and will also accompany them back.
