The Skiing
• Where – Kuhtai – an award winning Austrian ski
resort. Austria's highest alpine village and one of
its prettiest as featured in the Channel 4 Celebrity
Challenge "The Jump"
• 2,020m above sea level, so guaranteed snow.
• More than 44 km of slopes and lifts for all levels,
providing the perfect challenge for beginners and
advanced skiers.

Our Journey
Formby to Axams
Who are we?
Tranzcare Travel
• We are called
and we
are based at Bury to the North of Manchester.
• We are a family owned company and run a fleet
of seven coaches as well as fifteen minibuses and
mini-executive coaches. We also have a small
fleet of Executive limousines and people carriers.
• All our drivers are experienced and have been
CRB checked.

Your Drivers
• You will be picked up from school by one of our
drivers who will drive you down to the south of
England where Craig and Greg (that’s us!)will be
waiting for you having spent the night in a hotel
getting a good night’s sleep ready to drive you to
Austria. We will stay with you all week and drive
you to and from the mountain and evening
activities each day, we will then drive you back to
England at the end of your holiday where another
driver will complete the final English leg of the
journey back to Formby.
• This is our 11th trip with Range High School and we are
proud to have formed a strong working relationship
with all the staff here.
• We (the drivers) are proud to be included as part of the
Range High staffing team. We are competent skiers and
will help the students with their equipment both on
and off the slopes. If anyone has problem with any of
their kit please ask us.
• Our continental coaches are fully equipped to travel to
The Alps/Tyrol and are fitted with winter tyres. We also
carry snow chains for if the going gets tough!
• The coaches are air conditioned and centrally heated
and are equipped with a DVD player, music system,
toilet and reclining seats. We also carry a supply of soft
drinks and confectionery to purchase during the
journey and après ski each day.
Are we there yet?
• NO!
• The journey will take approximately 24/26
hours (dependent on traffic and weather
conditions).
• Although the coaches we use are comfortable
you do need to make sure that your clothing
and footwear is practical for a journey of this
duration.
What will I need?
• Comfortable clothing and footwear.
• Books/magazines etc.
• DVDs (please ensure they are age appropriate or we won’t
be able to play them).
• Small wash-bag (including toothbrush).
• Contact lens solution-if you use it (the a/c dries the air).
• Neck cushion or small pillow.
• SMALL bag for your belongings.
• Ski socks (for ski fit on arrival)
• Food/drink is allowed on board (in moderation) and it is
always better to have water and soft drinks rather than
fizzy drinks (Red Bull etc is not allowed)
• No alcohol or smoking is allowed

The journey is 1100 miles (the coach is
limited to MAX 60mph) - you do the maths!

We would appreciate it if you could help us to keep it like this!
We don’t have many rules ….But!
• Our coaches cost about £250,000 each (yes folks ¼ of a million pounds) so
you can understand why, with your help, we want to look after them.
• Normal school behaviour policy will be expected whilst you are on board.
For safety reasons we cannot allow people to be wandering about, you
must remain seated with your seatbelt fastened at all times.
• The European police often stop British coaches and anyone found not
wearing a seatbelt will incur an on the spot fine of €75 (including
children). YOU have to pay it not the drivers or teachers.
• As in your bedrooms at home (ha ha) the floor is for walking on not for
throwing your rubbish on. Please use the binbags we provide for you.
• The toilet is not connected to the main drains! What you put in it stays in
it and travels with us all the way there and back (say no more)– please try
and use the toilets when we stop and use the coach toilet only as a last
resort (remember European service stations often charge €0.50 to use the
facilities so some loose change may come in handy).
• Skis have sharp metal edges, if you lean them against the side of the coach
they are very likely to scratch the paintwork and you may just live to regret
it!
