SPARTAN FOOTBALL NEWS & INFORMATION FOOTBALL FOR MOMS -3 SESSIONS FOR MOMS OF OUR FOOTBALL PLAYERS COVERING TOPICS SUCH AS: SAFETY; STRENGTH TRAINING; NUTRITION; OFFENSE; DEFENSE; SPECIAL TEAM; EQUIPMENT AND MUCH MORE. -DATES : MARCH 7; MARCH 14; MARCH 21 -TIMES: 630 PM-730PM JUNIOR PLAYER/ PARENT CONFERENCES -THE PARENTS OF OUR PRESENT JUNIORS ARE INVITED TO DISCUSS THE POSSIBILITY OF CONTINUING TO PLAY FOOTBALL IN COLLEGE. WE WILL DISCUSS NCAA REQUIREMENTS; REVIEW OF GRADES; PLAN STANDARDIZED TESTING AND LEVEL OF COMPETITION. THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNNITY TO PLAN, ORGANIZE AND SET GOALS FOR THE BOYS’ SENIOR YEAR. OFFENSIVE LINE CLINIC -THERE IS A CLINIC FOR ALL OFFENSIVE LINEMEN ON SUNDAY MARCH 20, 2016 AT THE HUN SCHOOL IN PRINCETON. OUR OFFENSIVE LINEMEN PARTICIPATED LAST YEAR AND ALL OF US BENEFITTED FROM IT. IT IS A GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO BE WITH YOUR TEAMMATES AND COACHES FOR THIS CLINIC GIVEN BY AN OUTSTANDING COACH, RICH ALERCIO, WHO IS A VERY GOOD FRIEND. COACH ALERCIO IS A TREMENDOUS COACH AND AN EVEN BETTER PERSON. -DATE: MARCH 20, 2016 -TIME:8:00 am - NOON MID WINTER CONFERENCES -ALL PLAYERS WILL BE MEETING WITH ME TO DISCUSS ACADEMICS, CONDUCT GRADES, ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOL, ATTENDANCE IN OUR STRENGTH TRAINING PROGRAM AND PERFORMANCE IN THE STRENGTH TRAINING PROGRAM. RECRUITING VISITS BY COLLEGES -THERE WERE OVER 60 COLLEGES WHO CAME TO IMMACULATA TO MEET WITH OUR PLAYERS TO DISCUSS FURTHERING THEIR FOOTBALL CAREERS AT THEIR SCHOOLS. THE LIST IS ATTACHED. THIS IS A GOOD SHOWING BUT WE ARE GOING TO KEEP WORKING TO MAKE IT BETTER TO GIVE OUR PLAYERS MORE AND MORE EXPOSURE TO COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES. FOR THE YOUNGER PLAYERS IT WILL GIVE THEM AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THAT IF THEY WORK HARD AND PREPARE ON AND OFF THE FIELD, THEY CAN BEGIN TO FORMULATE THEIR GOALS. (PAGE 1 of 2) ST. PATRICKS DAY PARADE -THE IMMACULATA FOOTBALL TEAM IS LOOKING FORWARD TO MARCHING IN THE ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE. THE PARADE WILL TAKE PLACE ON MARCH 13TH AT 1:30 pm. WE REALLY ENJOYED IT LAST YEAR AND ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO REPRESENTING OUR TEAM AND SCHOOL IN THIS OUTSTANDING EVENT. BASILONE BOWL -THE BASILONE BOWL WILL TAKING PLACE ON THURSDAY, JUNE 30TH AT SOMERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL AT 7:30 PM. FIVE PLAYERS ELECTED TO PARTICIPATE: QB JOHN PHELAN; WR/DB ALEX HOFMANN; WR/DB DEREK WALKER; LB NICO McCORMICK; AND DL MIKE BIFANO. IT SHOULD BE A GOOD TIME FOR A GOOD CAUSE. THIS EVENT IS BEING SPONSORED BY THE U.S. MARINES. WE ARE HOPING FOR A GREAT TURNOUT BY OUR PLAYERS, OUR FAMILIES AND OUR STUDENTS SUPPORTING THESE FIVE GENTLEMEN AND THIS WORTHY CAUSE. SUMMER CAMP -THIS YEARS JUNIOR SPARTAN SUMMER CAMP WILL BE HELD ON JUNE 27-29 FROM 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. THE COST IS $25.00 PER CAMPER. LAST YEAR WE HAD OVER 75 CAMPERS AND OUR GOAL THIS YEAR IS TO HAVE OVER 100 PLAYERS FROM GRADES 5-8 (SEPTMEBER 2016). THE CAMP IS ALL ABOUT LEARNING NEW SKILLS, MAKING NEW FRIENDS AND HAVING FUN WITH OUR PRESENT PLAYERS AND COACHES. COLLEGE COMMITMENTS -TO DATE WE HAVE HAD 3 GENTLEMEN OFFERED DIVISION 1A AND 1AA SCHOLARSHIPS.
