Lucas Oil Late Models
History Made at Irwindale by Toni McCray with Clean Sweep Irwindale, CA
(July 5, 2014) – Toni McCray swept the twin Lucas Oil Late Model features at
Irwindale Speedway in the Jimco Construction #90 Eibach Springs/Chevy Impala
SS, and along the way, made history by becoming the first female driver to do so
at this historic racing facility. The first feature found her advancing from the eighth
position with her taking the lead on lap 11 and ultimately the win. In the second
feature she had to work a little harder as she couldn’t make her way into the top spot
until lap 26 of the 30 lapper. Nonetheless she was able to take home her two historic
victories in front of a capacity crowd at the ½-mile oval.

No Stopping Sanders in Caney Valley Clash Caney, KS (July 16, 2014) – Less
than 24 hours after taking his eighteenth victory of the season, Rodney Sanders
quickly made it nineteen wins by drawing the pole position for the second straight
night at the USMTS feature at Osage Casino Caney Valley. He led all but one lap in
his Swan Energy #20 MB Customs/Eibach Springs Modified.
Win #20 for Car #20 Rodney Sanders Greenwood, NE (July 18, 2014) – At the
outset of the season, Rodney Sanders set himself a personal goal of achieving
twenty wins by the end of 2014. He clearly underestimated his abilities in his
Eibach Springs #20 Modified because he reached his goal with over three months
remaining on the racing calendar via another USMTS triumph at I-80 Speedway.
After winning his heat race, Sanders received the eighth starting spot in the redraw
for the feature, but surged to the lead just past the halfway point on his way to the
$3,000 win.
Rodney Sanders Breaks out the Broom in Silver Dollar Nationals Greenwood,
NE (July 18, 2014) – Perhaps the annual Silver Dollar Nationals at I-80 Speedway
should be rebranded the Rodney Sanders Nationals because for the second straight
year Sanders swept the weekend’s festivities. In a near repeat performance of the
previous night’s action, Sanders shot past Terry Phillips for the $4,000 triumph, and
his 22nd victory of the 2014.

Mason Mitchell Makes Late-Race Run to Chicagoland Checkers Joliet,
IL (July 19, 2014) – Mason Mitchell may have only led six circuits of the 100
lapper at Chicagoland Speedway, but it proved to be the most important ones
as he surged to the top position during the closing laps of the Ansell ActivArmr
150 where he scored his first win with the tour. Mitchell started ninth on the grid
in his #98 Wildlife Foundation of Florida/Eibach Ford and slowly worked his way
forward during the course of the event. Justin Boston looked set to be on his
way to victory, but Mitchell killed those ideas as he raced to the lead on lap 95.
