TRAXXAS TORC Lovell and Menzies Top Podium in Chicago CHICAGO, IL (July 19, 2013)
– A big burden was lifted off the shoulders of Brad Lovell at Route 66 Raceway.
Lovell, the defending Pro-Light champion in the Traxxas TORC Series presented
by AMSOIL, had suffered through a long string of bad luck at the start of this
season before finally picking up his first Pro-Light victory of the year with his
Eibach Springs equipped Nissan. Lovell qualified on the pole for the race and had
the truck to beat from the outset. He led the first half of the race despite a couple of
restarts following accidents and lapped traffic. On a restart following a competition
caution, Lovell lost the lead. His ‘Will to Win’ paid dividends a couple of laps later
when the leader’s tire let go and Lovell cruised on to victory from there. In the
tenth round of the Pro-2 division, Bryce Menzies battled for the lead throughout
the entire race before securing the spot after the mid-way yellow flag. Menzies
had clean air for the remainder of the round and ran the truck to the top of the box.

World of Outlaws Late Models Babb Bags $20,000 in Prairie Dirt Barnburner FAIRBURY, IL (July 27, 2013)
– Shannon Babb battled and battled… and finally came out on top of a Prairie
Dirt Classic main event for the ages at Fairbury American Legion Speedway. The
39-year-old star thrilled his home-state crowd, out dueling the competition down
the stretch to win a 100-lap race that was arguably the most dramatic of the 2013
World of Outlaws Late Mode Series campaign. After watching a competitor use
the inside grove to march forward from the 17th starting spot and take the lead on
lap 29, Babb stuck to his preferred outside line around the high-banked, quarter
mile oval and reached second place on lap 48. Babb then relentlessly chased the
leader for the remainder of the distance, nosing ahead to the lead briefly on lap 80
and laps 89-90 before gaining full command on lap 93 and holding off the second
and third place competitors over the final circuits.
