Our traditional camp programs provide fun, structured activities focusing on our weekly themes. Daily activities include group games, a morning free swim and swim lessons, arts and crafts, team building, nature hikes, archery and more. We are also restructuring our teen leaders program this year to offer enhanced leadership training and experiences. All activities and programs include a focus on character values and provide children with the opportunity to develop the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in their daily lives. Our sports camps are accessible to our traditional activities at the Outdoor Complex, with daily specialty sports activities focusing on skill development in the afternoons at the YMCA building on State Street. Sports camps are designed for children who wish to develop skills in specific sports areas, or would like the opportunity to try a new sport! All sports camps will begin and end the day at our Dover YMCA Kent Outdoor Complex site where campers will have the chance to experience traditional camp activities during the morning, and will be bused to the building on State Street for sports activities in the afternoon. We are excited to introduce some additional specialty camps this year. Like our sports camp, campers will get to enjoy the mornings at the Outdoor Complex and enjoy all of the things that traditional camp has to offer. Campers will then be bussed to the YMCA building for the specialty camp each day. Once campers get to the Y they can participate in cheerleading, dancing, martial arts, and many other activities. All camp programs include at least one daily swim time, four days a week, and an exciting weekly field trip. We are confident your child will enjoy their camp experience at the Dover YMCA.
