Dear Guests,
It is an honor to welcome you to the 2010 Tampa Preparatory School Gala
Auction and Dinner, celebrating 25 years of auctions at Tampa Prep! I welcome
you and look forward to enjoying the evening with the friends and families of
Tampa Preparatory School.
This evening would not have been possible without the leadership of JOURNEY
Auction Chair Laurel Fredlake, and the hardworking volunteers who have
generously given of their time to plan, create and bring to life this wonderful
event. I have attended the Auction committee’s meetings from time to time and
I continue to be impressed by their dedication, thoughtfulness and efforts on
behalf of the school. The volunteers have worked tirelessly, hand-in-hand with
our Development Department and I cannot thank them enough for all they have
done, and continue to do, to support the school.
To our patrons, donors, faculty, administrators, families, community businesses
and supporters who have contributed goods and services to this evening,
we cannot thank you enough for your support and for the auction items that
contribute to the success of the evening.
The proceeds of the evening contribute to the continued improvement and
support of the educational experiences of our students, so feel free to bid boldly

Tonight we celebrate the JOURNEY, Tampa Prep’s 25th auction! We celebrate
the children who have passed through the doors of Tampa Prep, past, present
and future. We celebrate the bright future they promise.
Thank you, dear guests, for coming this evening. I hope you have a fantastic
time. Enjoy the good food, the good drink and the good people of Tampa
Prep!

It has been my great privilege to work with the enthusiastic and gifted auction
volunteers all of whom put a great effort into making the event a success. All
year we have talked about the importance of enjoying the JOURNEY, the fun
and friendships it brings. Tonight is your night!!
Thanks, also, to Kevin Plummer, the administrators, faculty and staff of Tampa
Prep. Susan Depatie and her staff in the Tampa Prep Development Office

Write your name on a twenty dollar bill and drop it into the crystal “ball.”
Shortly after dinner, we will draw one of the bills. The lucky winner
will get to keep one half of the donated bills, just in time to spend it on
a favorite Live Auction item! The remaining half becomes part of the
auction proceeds!

Auction Rules
•
Each participant/couple will have a personal bid number that
must be used for all bidding.
•
All sales are final. All items are sold “as is” and are nontransferable. Tampa Preparatory School assumes no risk, liability
or responsibility for the authenticity or authorship of any property
identified herein.
•
No item may be exchanged or returned to the store or individual
who donated it, except where specified.
•
Values listed for each item being auctioned are the donor’s
estimates and are not warranted by Tampa Preparatory School
for tax purposes or general value.
•
Items may be picked up from each category booth by producing
a PAID receipt for each item.
•
All auction items must be removed from the premises the evening
of the auction unless prior arrangements are made.
•
Payment by the successful bidder is mandatory that evening.
Payment may be made in cash, by check or with Visa or
MasterCard. No refunds will be issued.
•
Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash.
•
Each increase in bid must equal or exceed the minimum increase
figure stated on the bid sheet in order to constitute a valid bid. If
a minimum raise is not made, that silent auction bid will be disqualified.
•
Only an authorized person may nullify a bid. No bids may be
crossed out or erased.
•
Please fill in each silent auction bid sheet completely. You must
list your bid number clearly.

Auction Rules

Individuals must use only the bid number assigned to them. This
number is each participant’s identification.
•
The auctioneer will acknowledge the high bidder. If the auctioneer
determines that an opening bid or any subsequent bid is not
commensurate with the value of the item(s) offered, he may
reject the same and withdraw the item(s) from sale, and if having
acknowledged an opening bid, he decides that an advance
thereafter is not of sufficient amount, he may reject the advance.
The auctioneer retains the right to add or delete any item. The
auctioneer reserves the right to announce conditions of sale at
any time. In the event of any dispute, the auctioneer will have
sole and final discretion in these matters.
Every effort has been made to describe auction items accurately.
However, all items are sold “as is,” and are nontransferable. The
organization and auctioneer cannot guarantee the condition or
authenticity of items and makes no warranties or representation of
any kind or nature for any item sold. By purchasing an item, the buyer
waives any claims for liability against the organization, the donor, and
the auctioneer. The organization, donor, and the auctioneer are not
responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may
result from the utilization of property or services sold.
Unless otherwise stated, all purchased services, gift certificates and
vacation destinations from both the Live and Silent auctions must be
used or redeemed by March 6, 2011.
