Egon Schiele – Death and the Maiden
Original Title: Egon Schiele – Tod und Mädchen
Director: Dieter Berner
Genre:Biopic
At the beginning of the 20th Century Egon Schiele is one of the most provocative artists in Vienna.
His life and work are driven by beautiful women and an era that is coming to an end. Two women will
have a lasting impact on him – his sister and first muse Gerti, and 17-year-old Wally, arguably Schiele’s
one true love, immortalised in his famous painting ‘Death and the Maiden’. Schiele’s radical paintings
scandalise Viennese society while daring artists like Gustav Klimt and art agents alike are sensing the
exceptional. But Egon Schiele is also prepared to go beyond his own pain and to sacrifice Love and Life
for his Art. Art that inspires us up to this day.

Original Title: Das kalte Herz
Director: Johannes Naber
Peter and Lisbeth are two young but unfortunate lovers living in a rigid rural community in the Black
Forest. She comes from a wealthy family of glassblowers; he is a poor coal worker on the lower end
of society. To become rich and respected, Peter makes a pact with a devil named Dutch Michael, who
rips out his heart and replaces it with a stone. Robbed of all warmth and feeling, Peter becomes a
cold-hearted go-getter who rapidly achieves his goals. Ruthlessly he strives for money and power.
But Lisbeth no longer recognizes Peter as the man she once loved and turns against him. There is only
one way for him to put things straight: Peter must get his heart back.

Heart of Stone is based on a dark fairy tale written by Wilhelm Hauff and first published in 1827.
It tells a poetic love story set against the mysterious backdrop of the Black Forest. Hauff’s tale was
conceived as a criticism of man’s greed for power; it also condemns the exploitation of nature and the
abuse of fellow human beings. Johannes Naber translates this timeless parable into an emotional story
tailored to today’s audiences. HEART OF STONE is the second collaboration between Schmidtz Katze
Filmkollektiv and Studio Babelsberg after their 2012 film IN DARKNESS, which received an Academy
Award nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
director
Johannes Naber studied directing at the Filmakademie Ludwigsburg and made his feature debut in
2010 with THE ALBANIAN, which won the main award at the Max-Ophüls Festival and a Silver George
at the Moscow Festival. His second feature AGE OF CANNIBALS premiered in 2014 at the Berlin
Film Festival and won Lolas (German Film Award) for ‘Best Feature‘ and ‘Best Screenplay‘. HEART OF
STONE is Naber‘s third feature film.

We Used to be Cool
Original Title: Was hat uns bloß so ruiniert
BUT THEN WE HAD A BABY
Genre:Comedy
The coffee is fair trade, the vegetables are organic, the ice cream is vegan, the apartments large inner
city lofts, the computers and mobile phones from that ‚fruit‘ company and their careers high-flying.
So when three professionally successful couples in their 30‘s, all friends, decide having a baby would
be the perfect addition to their hip and modern lifestyles, what could possibly go wrong? Austrian
dry humour paired with acute observation comes to the fore as the sudden cold showers and rude
awakenings of reality hit these ill-prepared and all but clueless new mothers and fathers: morning
sickness, road testing prams, auditioning playgroups, conflicting philosophies of child rearing, other
parents‘ offspring, self doubt and relationships tested to breaking point and beyond as those little
bundles of joy turn very quickly from lifestyle brand extensions into non-refundable, non-returnable
projects of a lifetime.

Night of a 1000 Hours
Original Title: Die Nacht der 1000 Stunden
One family, one night, one murder
Genre:Mystery
As the members of the Ullich family gather at their palace in Vienna, their deceased ancestors suddenly
appear and usher in a series of unforeseen events. Not only does the past unexpectedly become the
present, criminal machinations are also revealed to be at work in a world in which ethics have been
discarded and profit seems to be the main goal. On this journey through different eras, the young
entrepreneur Philip Ullich and his newly alive great-aunt Renate fall for each other. While Philip battles
his cousin for control of the family business, the ancestors reveal the true origins of the Ullich fortune.
In this struggle it all comes down to who can be trusted in this web of lies, secrets and love affairs.
It‘s a world where even death doesn‘t mean the end.

Lena lives with her single mother who is too occupied with herself to be a support for her
intelligent and special daughter. Dreaming her way out of the suburb, Lena spends her time
assembling expressive collages and chatting with a guy she met online. Only her classmate Tim,
a gifted graffiti-artist and loner himself, notices her artistic talent, and the two get closer – much
to the displeasure of Lena’s childhood friend Nicole who is now best friends with cool but
manipulative Stella.
When Lena sees Nicole and Tim kissing, she breaks off contact with her former friends, not knowing
that Stella set up the kiss. In her despair, Lena throws herself head-on into the social network and
confides in the chat buddy she has never met in person – but behind the stranger’s profile are Nicole

Director: Everyone loves rowdy teacher Zeki Miller, but he is less enthusiastic about his new job at Goethe
High School. He‘s only a teacher because crime, his real passion, didn‘t pay. He hates getting up
early, deal with rebellious students and correct all that homework. And his power-hungry boss
Principal Gerster wants his help in outdoing her bitter rival, the elite Schiller Collegiate by stealing
their Thai partner school from under their noses during a class trip. Her ultimate goal is to boost the
image of Goethe School so high that it becomes the poster child for a new campaign launched by
the Ministry of Education. But nothing is further from Zeki‘s mind than taking his „mental midgets“
on an international journey. But he is compelled, when he finds out that a part of some loot he had
stashed away ended up in a donation container on its way to Thailand – thanks to a mishap initiated
by colleague Lisi Schnabelstedt. He has no other choice but to go on the trip to get back the diamonds
hidden in a stuffed animal. Miller volunteers to take his students to a small Thai village. Once in
Southeast Asia, Chantal, Zeynep, Danger and friends let it all hang out in an endless display of social
awkwardness. And as if Zeki didn‘t have enough to do with the wild teacher-student battles, the
brutal competition with Schiller Collegiate pits Miller against Schiller‘s conceited uber-teacher
Hauke Woelki whose singular goal is to end Miller‘s career once and for all.
