Parents
“My son absolutely LOVES BBC! And, so do we! He loves
the variation in the days, the Shin-Dig, the counselors,
and the general routine in the cabins.” – Lisa, a parent
I really feel that the time spent in prayer and talking about
God really helped my son to feel God’s love and to desire to
be kind and compassionate with other people. -Joe, a father.
Campers
I’m sad to leave but excited to come back! -Grace, a camper
I believe this is by far the best camp in the state because
you’re accepted no matter who you are- Jackson, a camper
I can’t wait to come back again and again and hopefully
in my future be a counselor here - Alex, a camper
I love everything about camp. This is a great place to learn,
grow, love and make new friends. -Morgan, a camper

Paying for Camp
CORE
SUMMIT
As always the top tier (IV) is our cost. That’s what it
costs us to put on a week of camp for your child. If
you can afford that, please pay it. And if you can’t,
that’s OK too. We want every child to be able to
have a powerful camping experience regardless of
financial situation. Please call 802-672-5220 with
any questions.
NEW
NAMES!
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
During the early years at BBC weeks of camp didn’t have names. They were just listed by their
dates. Then we added names. We chose names that related to the adventure of summer camp:
Pioneer and Explorer for example. We realize now that these adventure-based names don’t mean
a lot to parents and campers. It has long been time to name a program according to what it is and,
most importantly, who it’s for.

CORE
Session Descriptions
Core A,B, and C:
These weeks are the “core” of BBC Program. Campers get the
traditional BBC experience with all its fun and excitement. Activities include: Theme Days, Cabin Challenges, Water Trampoline,
Sheep Husbandry, Interest Groups, Crafts, Tree House Sleep Outs,
Disc Golf, Mission Impossible, Swimming in the Pond, Scheduled
Free Time, Water Slide, Archery, Eating food cooked over a fire, and
more! Whether it’s your first or fourth time at BBC you’re sure to
enjoy it.
Core X:
This unique two-week program allows campers to experience
two different weeks at camp. The first week is a traditional “core”
program. The second week is Summit Mid, which a specialized
program designed for Middle School campers. In-between these
two weeks campers get some down time at Wilderness Weekend
where they stay the weekend at our Tree Houses out in the back of
camp property. There they will be taught special skills in wilderness and survival. By being at camp for 2 weeks campers grow and
develop more completely and can opt in to special interest groups.

These specialized programs for older campers provide summit-type
experiences. Expedition is a trip-based program. Summit Mid
includes Middle School Madness and the famous Shindig. Summit
High includes overnight trips, Iron Chef, and the Coffeehouse.
Thought you were done with BBC after 3 years in Core? It’s time to
Summit. All campers at these programs get classic BBC games and
activities like Gaga, Floating Whizzball, Mission Impossible, Theme
Days, Water Trampoline, Tree House Sleep Outs, the Water Slide!
And because you’re older you’ll have more responsibility cooking
meals over the fire, specific Interest Groups designed to challenge
and you are given more free time to relax and hang with friends.
Expedition:
This specialized program is for older campers looking for an adventure. These campers will get to choose from a variety of different on
and off-site trips. Canoe down a river, climb a rock wall, fly down
a zip line and more! Campers will also get to jump into some of
Bethany Birches on-site adventures. It’s the best of BBC plus the
best of our surrounding area.
Summit Mid:
This specialized program is for Middle School age campers who
love camp but are looking for something new. Unique to this
week: All Camp Creek Hike, Middle School Madness, and the
famous Shindig! Plus, you get more time to yourself and with
your friends.
Summit High:
A pinnacle experience. Summit High provides campers the unique
opportunity of choosing between three overnight trips. You’ll get
to participate in programs specially designed for this age group,
including: more free time, Iron Chef, Coffee House, and The Barn
Party and All Camp Capture the Flag. This week will also include
worship times and shepherds geared to this oldest age group.
Whether it’s your first or fourth time at BBC this is not a week you’ll
want to miss!
SUMMIT HIGH +
LAUNCH
These programs are designed to comfortably launch a camper into
new experiences. Campers have the opportunity to try out some
traditional BBC activities, as well as some unique to the Launch
program. Campers can receive swim lessons if they would like
them. In addition to kind and caring counselors trained in conflict
resolution and homesickness campers are introduced to basic
outdoor living skills. Of course there are traditional BBC activities
like Gaga, Slip N Slide, Scavenger Hunts, Arts & Crafts, Pig Trough,
Camp Shepherds and Swimming in the Pond!
Day Camp:
You requested it so we brought it back! Day campers experience
much of Bethany Birches but sleep in their own beds at home
each night. Each week will have its own unique theme along with
activities and games to go along with that theme.
Launch Half:
For children ready to try the sleep-away camp experience. Don’t
worry; it’s only 2 nights so it’s a good test. Parents are welcome to
join in Tuesday evening for dinner and sharing about the week.
Launch Full:
For campers who are ready for the full experience! 4 nights to ease
campers into the full week experience.
Leadership
Development
Crew A and B:
Double dip – go behind the scenes, do work and still enjoy being
a camper! Crew campers will help with activities, clean up, do
maintenance tasks, etc. Other times you will participate as a camper in a shelter group led by a counselor. It’s a hybrid session (half
work, half play)!
Internship:
For teens interested in developing leadership skills, growing their
faith in God and going behind the scenes of BBC program. This
2-week program starts with a week of training from BBC staff and
guest speakers, then transitions to Interns working in the cabins
with the campers. This is the first step toward joining the BBC
Summer Staff. Download an application at
bethanybirches.org under staff ––>
jobs available, or call with questions.
We must receive your application by May 15, 2016.
Camp Agape
Camp Agape is a partnership between Bethany Birches Camp and
Camp Agape. It is a program designed for children who have parents in prison or under the supervision of the Vermont correctional
system. If you know someone who fits this description, visit
