Welcome to the N.S.S.A.’s 14th Annual World Vintage Championships set for March 6-9, 2014.
This is the first time we have hosted this tournament in the Deep South [Gainesville, Florida] in the
Winter. The Gator Trap and Skeet Club is looking forward to your visit in beautiful, sunny Gainesville.
Many thanks to the Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company, our Signature Sponsor, for their continued
support of this vintage shooting program. Also, we wish to express our thanks to our daily event sponsors who
are showcased throughout this program.
In addition to the traditional Skeet Championships using the circa 1935 skeet rules, we offer additional
events for Side-by-Side Game Guns and Hammer Guns, a special day for 16 Gauge shotgun events, and daily side
games in Trap and 5 Stand. You are invited to shoot any or all of these side matches in 5-Stand Sporting or
Down-the-Line Trap for some special awards. We are planning a Galazan catalog gift certificate drawing every
afternoon once the shooting ends--open to every shooter regardless of scores.
Also, for Elsie and CSMC fans there is a special Event Sunday, the America’s Best Gun Challenge. See the
program for details.
We hope that you will participate in every event while you are visiting the us here in the Sunshine State.
Remember, no special memberships are required to participate. Other than on the special 16 Gauge Day, Skeet events
are limited to “vintage style” firearms--specifically side-by-side or pump-action shotguns of either modern or vintage
manufacture. Also, some side events are gauge specific or limited to side-by-side shotguns only, so be sure to
scan our entire program.

The grounds where Gator Skeet and Trap Club now exists was requisitioned by the US Army Air Forces in 1942 to train the
then Army Air Corp gunners how to shoot "lead" in aero combat.
After war duty it was changed to a civilian gun club. At one time funded by Gainesville Parks & Recreation, GS&TC is now a
not-for profit organization and pays rent to the Airport Authority.

area for naturalists and outdoor enthusiasts, from birders to hikers and
bikers. Also a National Landmark, Paynes Prairie is biologically and
historically, geologically, and historically unique.

Lake Santa Fe has been designated by Florida as an “Outstanding
Florida Water” which means it is “worthy of special protection because
of its natural attributes." Two to four pound large-mouth bass are
common, with six to eight pounders possible

RULES
General
This is an NSSA sanctioned tournament, but N.S.S.A. membership is not required for participation.
Skeet targets fired by NSSA members will count towards Lifetime Target count only and will not impact
current classifications or averages.
Current NSSA skeet rules will apply with the following exceptions:
– Skeet targets will be thrown with a variable release of 0 to 3 seconds. No gun mounting until target emerges from the house!
– Ready Position (definition)-the shotgun butt must remain 6 inches below the armpit until the target is thrown.
–All shooters must remain in the Ready Position until the target is released. 1st violation per round will be declared “no bird”,
additional violations will be scored as a “lost target”.
Game Gun and Hammer Gun Events are designed for SxS’s only and guns must meet the criteria outlined elsewhere in the program.
Scores & scorecards must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. daily for award consideration.
Re-entry is permitted, but only with a gun change and only one award per event.
Classification and Award distributions
The Top three Skeet scorers in the 12 Gauge, 16 Gauge, 20 Gauge, 28 Gauge, .410 Bore Events will be recognized.
Remaining awards will be distributed via the Lewis Class System in the 12 Gauge, 20 Gauge, 28 Gauge, and.410 Bore Skeet Shooting
Events.
Special awards will be offered for the daily 5 Stand Sporting, Down-the-Line Trap , and daily All-Around Champs.
Equipment
Pump or SxS shotguns may be used for Skeet and 5-Stand Events—12 Gauge Trap events are for SxS’s only
Sub-gauge tube sets or gauge reducers are permitted, but 16 Gauge events must be fired with a true 16 gauge shotgun.
Shoot management reserves the right to amend this program.
Thursday’s 16 gauge events may be fired with ANY type of 16 gauge shotgun.
Only ties for Event Champ will shoot off, Miss-and-Out by Station. All other ties will be resolved via long run first from the front,
then rear.
Ammo
Reloads are permitted--subject to NSSA rules
16 gauge shells are limited to 1 1/16 ounces shot, .410 are limited to ½ ounce maximum.
Shot shells are limited to shot size #7 ½ or smaller
Event Pricing
All 50 target events are only $25.00. This includes all awards and fees.
Express Registration
Don’t stand in line on the day of the shoot.
You can avoid those lines with our optional pre-registration.
Refer to page 26 of the program and select your preferred events. Complete the
form and send it with your check. We will have your competitor’s package ready
for you when you arrive-no waiting!
Not sure what events you want to shoot? Changes or additions are permitted and
refunds are available should you have a change of plans.

Additional Rules
Rank Scoring will be used for Daily HOA Events [Skeet, Trap, 5 Stand]
-A shooter receives points based on their finish in these events: i.e. 1 point
for first, 2 points for second, etc.
- Lowest point scorer for the three daily events is the winner. Tie breakers will
be longest run front/rear Skeet, then Trap longest run front/rear, then 5- Stand
longest run.
- Competitors must enter both daily side events to qualify for daily awards.
12 Gauge Trap Events are open to SxS shotguns only
All trap shooting will be from the 16 yard line.
Trap matches are gauge specific. Tube sets are permitted.
Standard ATA rules will be used, except
Two shots will be permitted at each single Trap target with
– 1st barrel breaks scored as 3 points
– 2nd barrel breaks scored as 1 point
5 Stand Events are open to SxS and pump action shotguns

GAME GUN HANDICAP
You may shoot your game gun in any of the daily Skeet events.
Defined
Participation is limited to Side-by-Side game guns and your Side-by-Side shotgun must earn
10 points from the following menu of features to qualify: Smallbores will receive a handicap
based on gauge fired. See page 9 for handicap information.

Hammer Gun Defined
To participate in the Hammer Gun Handicap Event, your shotgun must
be a Side-by-Side shotgun with exposed hammers.
