HAT CHANNEL INSTRUCTIONS
The details shown are suggestions or guidelines on how to erect ATFAB
channel members. The details may require revisions or modifications,
depending upon project conditions.
ATFAB channels are available in 16’-2”and 24’-2” lengths
Eave struts are available in 16’-2” lengths
To fasten ATFAB channel to wood, use #12 x 1 5/8” Hex Dekfast fastener
To fasten panel to ATFAB channel, use #14 x 7/8” Self drill fastener
To fasten trim to ATFAB channel, use #14 x 7/8” Self drill fastener
Self drilling fasteners should be installed with a 2500 rpm screw gun,
equipped with a depth locating nosepiece to prevent over drilling

Installation: Sections are form manufactured to assure that close tolerances are
maintained. Standard section lengths up to 20 feet.
Fastening specifications as specified in the manufacturers installation guide in
accordance with the Florida Building Code.
Installation manual of instructions will be available for review from the
manufacturer at a job site.
Deck Attachment: Per applicable building code and as referenced in fastening
schedule chart and drawings in the manufacturers installation guide; may be applied over
wood solid substrate, and various roof coverings for retrofit applications.
Fasteners for metal channel are #9-16 x 1 ½” metal to wood screw with ½” Neo Bond
washer and 12” o.c. . Metal to wood screw #10-16 x ½” with ½” Neo Bond washer, type
17 point. #14-10 x 1” type AB point. Additional fastenening:
