Brief Biography:
Geordie has been a professional musician
and street performer since the end of 2011,
when he first visited Berlin to start a band
with some friends. Since then, Geordie has
travelled between Germany and Australia
performing both as a solo guitarist and as
part of two bands and a guitar duo.
In his brief career thus far, Geordie has
recorded three solo albums (Neukölln 2011;
the Stoop Sessions 2012; Where the Walls Once
Were 2013) and an EP (Between the Lines
2013), an EP with ambient electronic group
Orae (Alexandrina EP 2013 – released on Bad
Panda Records), and an album as one half of
guitar duo Little Spencer (Self Titled 2013), as
well as playing on a handful of other
unreleased or yet to be released projects.
Geordie has also produced two highly
acclaimed shows for the Adelaide Fringe
Festival; Between the Lines in 2013
(Nominated for Best Music Overall); and A
View From the Street in 2014 (Winner of Best
Music Weekly Award, Nominated for Best
Music Overall).
Brief Musical Philosophy:
Geordie’s mix of finger and lap style techniques, and his commitment to the warmth of his
flamenco guitars as opposed to the more traditional steel strings, makes his compositions
truly unique. This approach, coupled with the heavy influence of ambient electronic music (in
addition to the obvious Mckee, King, Dufour, Reed influences to name a few), assures a
smoothly percussive, yet melodically driven adaptation of the current wave of the popular
styles.
Having written and performed over
the last couple of years with an offthe-shelf Yamaha flamenco guitar,
recently Geordie travelled to Spain
and built an 8 String flamenco. His
own creation, it is perfectly designed
in every aspect with his unique
technique in mind, and was built
especially to take his compositions
to as yet unchartered territory.

This show gives you a rare glimpse of life through the eyes of a busker.
Building on from hos solo show last year, acoustic finger and lap style guitarist Geordie Little has
teamed up with director Mike Williamson to create an immersive multi-media experience for the
audience.
As Little plays, Williamson’s beautiful film runs in the background showing staged street scenes from
Little’s perspective on the street.
You see people stopping to snap photos, children dancing, and a guy yell out that he’s not giving
Little any money because he doesn’t sing. These have all happened to him, by the way.
It’s a gorgeous idea that is executed well and will leave you seeing buskers in a whole new light.

Not content to repeat the formula that won him a nomination for best music act last Fringe, this year
Geordie Little’s sublime acoustic guitar compositions are backed with footage by local film-maker
Mike Williamson. The film recreates actual scenes witnessed and conversations overheard by
Geordie while busking, giving us a small but fascinating glimpse into his world.
My fear that the screen would detract attention from the music soon passed. The film is stylised but
simple – no big crowd scenes, just small groups of characters, some colourful, some less so, and
their reactions to the music, which remains the star of the show. The performance is nicely
synchronized so that as he finishes playing each piece live the film audience applauds with the live
audience.
At the end you watch Geordie’s distinctive percussive playing style filmed from above. Then you look
at Geordie and see the same finger positions in real life. Nice!

Wow. I never realized the acoustic was a Rubic’s Cube to be solved; until I saw this guy do one in 45
minutes flat.

It’s not just the guitar, or a well played composition, or a single rhythm or musical continuity that
makes one not want the song to finish. It is the ability to see two hands and a guitar that are capable
of producing such musicianship, such expression and simplicity, with an art that is extremely
complex. We had not had a similar feeling since we saw Portico Quartet live for the first time, but
honestly we write, it’s absolutely stunning.

A View from the Street is an award winning production mixing a live guitar performance with a
timed and interactive film. The show is tour ready, and Geordie is willing to speak with any
festivals or venues that may have a compatible venue. Geordie will bring:

- Yamaha CGX series flamenco guitar
- Custom built 8 String flamenco guitar with external K&K Pre-amp
- Mackie Thump TH-12A PA Loudspeaker
- Behringer Xenyx 1002FX
The venue will need to provide:
