Over forty-three years ago, a group of forward-thinking farmers
blazed trails in Sonoma County, creating a Map & Guide for local
agriculture, inviting the public to meet their farmers and learn
more about the origins of their food. These pioneers also produced
the Gravenstein Apple Fair to celebrate the heirloom apple and
Sonoma County’s rural traditions. This was back in 1973, before
the advent of Farmers’ Markets, CSAs and campaigns to shop
locally. Over the years, some of the farmer members have
changed, but the organizing mission of our non-profit
organization has remained the same: to help ensure the
preservation of Sonoma County’s rich agricultural heritage.
For decades, we’ve worked to promote local farmers and to
educate the public about the importance of supporting
sustainable agriculture. We’re lucky to be part of a large,
collaborative network of organizations and individuals who care
deeply about local agriculture, family farms and the future of our
food system.
Farm Trails is pleased to again publish our landmark Map &
Guide. This resource, in conjunction with our dynamic website,
offers the most comprehensive listing of local agricultural
products and services, fresh from the source.
We hope this Map & Guide enriches your Sonoma County
experience and encourages you to connect with our amazing
farmers and producers. See you along the trails!

Sonoma County encompasses a wide variety of landscapes: from oak-studded hills to flood plains,
from redwood groves to windswept beaches. Sonoma County Farm Trails members can be found in all of these
places, offering agricultural products with their own sense of terroir: flavors and textures unique to their soil
and microclimates.
We invite you to browse these pages as you travel around the county, getting to know the farmers and producers
who constitute our vibrant agricultural community and the amazing, bountiful land that sustains us all.
How to use the Map & Guide:
1. Choose a region to explore. Farm Trails members are displayed in a series of 7 regional maps on the following
pages. Members are listed with corresponding map location numbers (if they are open to the public). Please check
listings to determine hours of operation. S ome of our members are only open seasonally or by appointment.
2. Find a Farm Trails member. Turn to pages 4 & 5 for an alphabetized directory of farms, artisan producers, markets
and agriculture-based businesses that comprise our membership. Each listing includes contact information, short
descriptions, and general hours of operation.
3. Visit our dynamic website at farmtrails.org and use it in conjunction with this Map & Guide. The Farm Trails
website features a multi-level search function which details all the products, services, methods, techniques, events,
etc. of our members.
