BOARD OF DIRECTORS Rick Williams, President Harmony Farm Supply Adam Taggart, Treasurer Tara Firma Farms Vince Trotter, Secretary Shone Farm Andrea Krout, Director Dist. Dir. to David Rabbitt Laruen Bowne, Director Gypsy Cheese Co. Tim Tesconi, Director Ret. ED, So Co Farm Bureau STAFF Carmen Snyder Executive Director Over forty-three years ago, a group of forward-thinking farmers blazed trails in Sonoma County, creating a Map & Guide for local agriculture, inviting the public to meet their farmers and learn more about the origins of their food. These pioneers also produced the Gravenstein Apple Fair to celebrate the heirloom apple and Sonoma County’s rural traditions. This was back in 1973, before the advent of Farmers’ Markets, CSAs and campaigns to shop locally. Over the years, some of the farmer members have changed, but the organizing mission of our non-profit organization has remained the same: to help ensure the preservation of Sonoma County’s rich agricultural heritage. For decades, we’ve worked to promote local farmers and to educate the public about the importance of supporting sustainable agriculture. We’re lucky to be part of a large, collaborative network of organizations and individuals who care deeply about local agriculture, family farms and the future of our food system. Farm Trails is pleased to again publish our landmark Map & Guide. This resource, in conjunction with our dynamic website, offers the most comprehensive listing of local agricultural products and services, fresh from the source. We hope this Map & Guide enriches your Sonoma County experience and encourages you to connect with our amazing farmers and producers. See you along the trails!
