ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
If you already have a job that is on the list for work visas, and you have at least three to five
years’ relevant work experience, it is possible if necessary to upgrade your English ability in
Australia. Then you could approach prospective employers in Australia to sponsor you for a
fulltime work visa. Business Owners and Investors need less English ability.
English study can be done on a variety of Australian visas :
• Student Visa for perhaps six to 12 months, depending on your current ability (you can
only work 20 hours a week on a Student Visa) (costs approx A$6,000 each six months), or
•on a Visitor Visa (no work) for a maximum of three months, or
•On a Working Holiday Visa (if aged under 31) for up to four months).
